For a while, I've been into my writing career, and my family has always supported me. I would have my sisters go through all of my books and proofread, help me change things when they are too similar to another work, or ask for clarification. The most common critique I get is how long my story should be. I planned to have my books have as many chapters as an anime has episodes in a season, at least anime from the 2000s. One of my books is gonna be planned to have 48 chapters, another is gonna have 30, another would have 39, and another would have 52. Are these fair numbers? I'm currently at chapter 19 for all these books, and they're heavily anime-inspired. They would tell me that I'm writing a book series, which is accurate, but at the same time, I'm wondering if these goals are realistic. I'm a discovery writer, and I know the pitfall of that would be that you don't stop writing your story, and I figured having a chapter limit would sidestep that problem, but if each chapter is 10 pages, would people actually enjoy it? Just give it to me straight: is this reasonable? If not, how do I shorten it?
