First jump!

Just completed my first skydive (tandem), and I just want to say, that this subreddit is the only reason I had enough confidence to go through with it. Hearing your anecdotal advice and scrolling through numerous “what should I expect” threads made the anticipation much easier to handle. It was the BEST 5 minutes of my life, thanks to everyone here that encourages taking the leap ❤️❤️

What is stopping announcers from betting on themselves?

Seems like the easiest money in the world if you’re the commentator

Why did Ian come over to Bears house to tell him about the $1,000,000,000?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Bear told Ian about the one wish, then Ian said “I want a billion dollars” in front of Bear followed by money falling from the sky.

If Bear was there when it happened, why did Ian rush over to tell him??

Do I switch my binds at gc3?

My binds:

  • Drive = R2
  • Boost = R1
  • Power slide/FAR = L2
  • Reverse = L1
  • Air roll right = L3

I've heard that using bumpers (R1/L1) for directional air roll is common in SSL. Additionally, I am very unfamiliar with Air roll left.

Common SSL binds

  • Drive = R2
  • Boost = Circle
  • Power slide/FAR = Square
  • Reverse = L2
  • Air roll right = R1
  • Air roll left = L1

I would have to unlearn and relearn every essential control except drive. I have 5k hours.

  1. Is changing binds AND learning ARL is recommended/necessary to achieve SSL?
  2. Is using L3 for air roll a hindrance?
  3. What is a realistic timeframe to "get used to" new binds, given consistent practice?

Standard Boost in Freeplay changed the way I view the game

To anyone c3 or higher, I’d highly recommend you turn off unlimited boost in freeplay. Learning how to control the ball with limited boost and getting comfortable with pathing is an essential skill I wish I developed sooner.

Charging port caught fire

Board still turns on and off just fine.

Do I have to replace the battery?
Can I replace just the battery charging input?
Is it safe to ride?

Any recommended next steps are helpful… it’s my main transportation as of now
