I Feel Like This Show Is Only Enjoyable if you Binge Watch it

I just finished all 4 seasons in one month. I absolutely loved this show and its characters, especially Boyd and Donna.

As a binge watch i would easily give it 9/10. However, i don't honestly think i would have stuck around if i watched it season by season when they came out.

The mysteries drag for too long and the lack of explanation for simple stuff is frustrating at times, if you don't have the next episode available.

It wasn't until i reached season 4 that i felt content and satisfied with what was revealed.

I know there is a lot to answer still, but at this point, i got all the enjoyment out of the series, and keeping it a mystery wouldn't affect how i feel about it that much in the end.

( except if it was all a dream ending !!!!!!)

Finally Cured My Exhaust Drone With a J-Pipe, A Successful Experiment.

I have a modified 8th gen civic si with PLM header and high flow CAT. The catback is invidia Q300, which is a 2.75".

Car was amazing, except for one annoying thing: Drone at only 3000 rpm. The funny thing is that in the city, it is not a problem at all.

But on the highway, it was causing my ears to bleed. Its so sad because i loved this setup, but that specific drone frequency was killing me while cruising.

I went the rabbit hole of trying different sound deadening techniques.

Things i tried that helped a bit:

- Install sound deadening mats in the trunk (reduce overall noise by 2-3 db)

- Trying different exhaust tips.. smaller tips help but can result in raspiness. Also, longer tips that extend beyond the bumper are better for noise reduction in cabin.

- Adding perforated cone inserts into the exhaust: didn't work that much, and car sounded horrible. Also, there was power loss (restriction)

The one thing that worked like magic:

- Installing J-Pipe (helmholtz resonator) -> best drone killer, period.

Holy cow. I had my doubts about researching the j-pipe online, but it worked like magic.

I did a lot of research though on the length of the pipe. There are calculators online but i also used chatgpt to confirm the calculations. Most online cases involve either v6/v8 engines, or 4 cylinders at different rpm like 2500. So i needed to run some math first for my case.

So here is the Breakdown:

- My drone was most prominent at 3000 rpm (2900 to 3500). The frequency of sound where drone occurs is the most important factor to calculate the j-pipe length.

- I used 2 phone apps to confirm that my drone frequency ranged from 95-106 hz cruising on the highway at 3000 rpm. You can also calculate it using formulas online. For me, and because it's a 4 cylinder engine (v6s and v8s are different):

(3000 RPM × 4 cylinders) ÷ (60 x 2 crankshaft revolutions per power stroke ) = 100 Hz

- So the length of J-pipe to cancel out this frequency of 100hz (at 110 F exhaust temp), it would be about 35 inches.

- The j-pipe diameter is usually equal to or less than the main exhaust diameter. I went with 2" diameter for the j-pipe as my main exhaust diameter was 2.75".

- I bought a bunch of 2" pipes and gave them to muffler shop. They installed them at the mid-pipe in the shape of a j-hook. The j-hook points to front of the car (the capped end of the pipe is towards the engine).

Install took about 40 minutes, and The results were just simply amazing. All of the Drone around 3000 rpm where simply gone. These k20 motors are known for it.

I am just sharing this successful experiment for all those who want a definitive solution for drone without sacrificing power gains or overall sound. Install a j-pipe, you won't regret it.

Ohh and it cost me $240 for the install (materials were $50).

Contrary To Popular Opinion, a Manual Is Still Less Boring In a Traffic Jam Than an Automatic

Avoiding a manual transmission because of "traffic jams" is an opinion that I hear a lot in the car community. It is however, very misleading.

I have 2 cars, one manual and one automatic. And let me tell you that the automatic car is way more boring when stuck in traffic (despite having more horsepower). At least with the manual car, there is "something to do" every time the traffic moves slightly, which is letting the clutch pedal out slowly. If you nail it smoothly, it is still more rewarding than pulling up in an automatic.

I Think this popular opinion is based on cars with Heavy clutches, like high powered RWD cars. I can see why a manual Mustang GT500 can make your leg sore.

But if your talking about lighter clutches, like the one i have in my Honda Civic Si, these don't bother me in the slightest, and i am not even that fit, as I barely hit the gym 😄. No sore legs even after a 30 minutes jam.

So yeah, if you are someone who is worried about traffic jams in a manual car, I would say research how light the clutch pedal is first. Because trust me, an automatic is 3 times more boring in a jam, and it won't be "better".

Would You Consider The Q50 A Sporty Car? How Does The Driving Feel Compare To BMWs or AUDI, or even a Civic Type R?

The Q50 is one of those cars that has a huge following from car enthusiasts. Of course, because it has the same engine as the nissan 370z, it is considered a 4 door version of that car (or something similar). So in my mind, this is the car to get if i wanted a sport sedan.

Now, I saw in the car reviews that the steering of the Q50 'feels dead'. Which got me worried about buying a Q50. Of course, car reviewers can exaggerate a bit because they test hundreds of cars. So god knows what are they comparing to. I mean if you compare it to a Corvette, of course the steering won't come close.

So in the department of driver engagement and driver feedback, how does the Q50 compare to similar sport sedans? something like a bmw 3 series or and audi s5/s4? or even to something like a Honda Civic Type R/ Subaru WRX?

Is Ronaldo's Personality The Reason Portugal Never Really Achieved Anything In The World Cups?

Ronaldo back when he was younger didn't seem to me that he was overrated. He did have the skill and the goal scoring talent. If you go back and watch his goals with Real Madrid , you will see what i mean.

But if you look at Messi, his teammates respect him way more. Every time he gets fouled, they rush to defend him. They look up to him as a leader.

While for Ronaldo, i don't get these vibes from his teammates. It actually feels the opposite a lot of times.

It just leads me to believe that Ronaldo's personality behind the scenes is absolute garbage ..and maybe he wasnt an inspiring figure to his Portuguese teammates.

Can Reducing Camber Below The Default Aggressive Setup Be Beneficial?

Let's say i want to improve straight line acceleration so i can have more speed out of corners. Car is oversteery by default, so it doesn't need any more turn in...

Is it wise to reduce camber (below default game presets) just for that (and find grip elsewhere?)... or would that be stupid because you should never go below default presets?

assume tire wire is not an issue (qualifying + hot lapping).

Need a Difficult Souls like Game but With More Magic and Fantasy elements

Something that has the combat of dark souls/ elden ring, but with more focus on magic builds with a vibrant fantasy world... basically a souls like Skyrim or Oblivion if possible..as im not a big fan of super gloomy and decaying worlds.

I have already played the Witcher 3, but it wasn't as difficult as i hoped.

Can you recommend a game like that ?

Thank you

After You Switched from Controller to a Wheel, How faster Did You Get?

I just switched to a wheel about 3 weeks ago, and on Misano, with the 991 porsche gt3 (2018 version) here are my times:

Controller: best 1:37.5 (avg is 1:38.4)

Wheel: best 1:37.3 (avg is 1:38.0)

I managed to beat my controller time, but with only about 0.4 seconds on average... seems very underwhelming tbh.

I thought wheel was going to be night and day difference ...

Do you think i just need more than 3 weeks to be a whole second faster than a controller??

So Why When I Turn The Steering Wheel Aggressively I Get Severe Sudden Understeer? And When I Do it Gradually I find tons of Grip?

I recently switched from controller to wheel after being a controller racer all my life. On a controller in general, a low/medium speed corner required you to push the joystick hard to other side which made you turn quicker.

On a wheel though, i noticed only gradual slow progressive turning would yield the best grip. If I even think about jerking the steering wheel suddenly (like a joystick), I got loads of understeer.

What is the technical explanation for this? Is it the tires?

Car is Porsche 991 GT3 R with default aggressive setup.

Does Anybody Know How Car and Driver Measure 50-70 mph In Automatics?

Car and Driver usually post times of 50-70 mph in their reviews. But what i want to know is when do they start the clock? And how? Is it when the pedal is pressed or when the car starts going over 50mph?

How Is it Possible that The GR86 Beats The Golf GTI In this Drag Race??

In this throttle house video (link at the bottom), they race a GR86 with a 2023 Golf GTI. I looked up their numbers on Car and Driver website:

GR86:
Power: 228 hp @ 7000 rpm
Torque: 184 lb-ft @ 3700 rpm
Weight: 2838 lb

while the GTI:

Power: 241 hp @ 6500 rpm
Torque: 273 lb-ft @ 1750 rpm

Weight: 3112 lb

And the GR86 wins by half car length both from a standstill and from a roll.

How is that possible? I know there is a weight difference, but its only about 300lbs.

Is the GR86 faster in real life than the advertised numbers?

It's Not Acceptable That a Show Which is All About Superheroes, To Be That Inconsistent on Their Super Powers and Power-scaling

If Superheroes in The Boys were just a side plot, i would excuse all the power-scaling inconsistencies ... but They are one of the MAIN PARTS of the entire show...

It is not excusable to fumble like this on the writing when it involves their super powers...especially towards the end in season 5...

It is like if a show about the Military displays absolute lack of knowledge when it comes to firearms...

After Yet Another Rewatch, Neo's Powers In Real Life Aren't Really Plot holes Or Inconsistent

I know His powers extending to real life spawned many discussions and fan theories like "matrix inside matrix "...

But after another rewatch of this masterpiece trilogy, it really is very simple and straightforward why Neo can stop machines..

Actually, the premise for that was laid out clearly in the first movie and throughout the whole series.

The premise is simple:

In Their Timeline (future) , The Relationship between the Brain and Code is powerful and profound, and is a two-way street.

"Brain affects Code, and Code can affect Brain."

1- Brain affects Code: That's a major point in the first movie, the protagonists are able to manipulate code constructs using their brains, that's how they have superpowers inside the Matrix. Remember, This code construct is a machine code after all.

Implication = Machine code can be altered by our brains , if we are mentally strong enough.

2- Code affects Brain: This also was introduced in the first movie. Code is so powerful in this movie's timeline that it can make our protagonists not only bleed in real life, but also can kill them. Not just brain coma, no, like actual death.

Implication = Code can have physical consequences/ impact in the real physical world.

3- Neo's blind sight: This is a major hint. Once Neo visited the Source, he was exposed to their code on deeper level. It's literally their Mainframe. So it is not surprising that Neo now have deeper understanding of their logic and inner workings.

Also, notice his glow orange vision only applies to things that run code in them (this includes any machine and Smith, the virus logic running inside human vessel).

If you look closely, Neo doesn't see Trinity in glowing orange, because she is human and doesn't "run code".

The only missing piece of course is now Neo isn plugged in through a wire. But, we all know that wireless data communication is possible not only in our real life timeline, but in their futuristic timeline as well.

Do you think a business that panders to the lower income customers instead of higher income customers is not going to survive in this economy?

Or this is purely circumstantial failure because of the conflict in the ME?
