I’ve always wanted to own one, so I often peruse this sub. This is where I currently am… I can only hope to buy one within the next few years. FMS/RocHobby 1/6 scale 1941 MB Scaler, with aesthetics inspired by Tamiya Wild Willy. LMK if it breaks rules, will comply and delete, if so.
I’m quite fond of Wild Willy and what he evokes for my nostalgia. So here’s my 1/12 tribute. Base vehicle is from FMS/RocHobby and is the 1/12 1941 MB Scaler. The Tyre cover fell off. This thing does crawl very well. Leaf suspension, too!
Flexed like it was Friday. Mostly scale lines.
My 1/6 Wild Willy scaler made from an FMS 1941 MB Scaler. 🫡 This was Tamiya-inspired. The Big Willy was printed by @itman3d
Always touted that it’s one of the most underrated rigs. Super fun on n off road. Aesthetics are on point, too. 🫡
I was wondering the diameter of the monster tyres. I realized they’re similar to the General Grabbers w 1.55” center. I transferred, and look how good they kinda match. What say you? Thoughts? I prefer my wheels silver/grey, tho. 🤔 Gonna try them out, tmrw.
Tamiya Lunchbox getting the rear window treatment. IDK if I should paint black, or keep light. These are DIY from styrene, and superglue. Quick n easy, plus freeeee materials from my stash bin.
Went w a more scale aesthetic on this Tamiya Lunchbox. Always loved the toy, never liked the toy colors.
Been using the Tamiya panel paint to pronounce the details from my RCs. Coupled w Flat Clear on the chrome pieces, it looks like a good starting point towards a more scale detail effect. I got this method from my static models days.
The extended wheelbase Lunchbox fits in the lunch tray. Unfinished project. Showing the painted wheels, and how the 1/4” wheelbase extension not looking too off.
Had money n time to burn for this small project. Gonna be an unnecessarily fast LB, w a touch of scale accessories. IDK what livery to use, yet. Brushless 4000kv motor, tested w 3S. Too fast, will most likely strip gears, but I’m good w throttle control. Testing phase —of course it’s unfinished…
One of my scalers. This one has HW Fusion, Blk Label servo, CCHand & TeraFlex accessories. There’s more, but we’ll look at the other mods in the future.

Hobbywing Fusion treatment in the TF2. Looking fwd to smoother crawls, and controlled speed w the increased torque.
NOS Bottle helps w the Wild Willy homage FAV. Amazon finds. Stick-on and bolt-on accessories are easy.
Gonna dig into my Scale Accessories bin and throw on everything it can haul.
