Making realistic-looking topography?
What I feel is my main hindrance in making my maps feel realistic is how I do topography. I just don't understand how do draw simple elevation. How do you do it?

I know mountains are formed at continental boundaries through uplift and folding, or horsts and grabens etc. but how do these wide yet still mountainous and rugged regions form?
shitty metaphor hour: life
we're starting off with a big one,
life is like being in a restaurant, and there's only two people inside: me (or you), enjoying a delicious meal and a kid walking around rasping a fork on a plate.
sometimes he's closer, sometimes he's further away. what i gotta decide is how good is the food and how close for how long does the kid gotta be before I get up and leave
Designed for the authoritarian government of the 6th Empire beginning in 2664, first produced in 2671. Main battle rifle of both the authoritarian gov. and the democratic gov. that followed. Circa 1960s tech irl, select fire assault rifle. What do you think? OC.
This map is basically finished, but I want to understand some things.
Is it too cluttered? Some areas I feel are a little packed with info
Does all the info get through, is there something that's unclear? Like for example the campaign route, can you understand the direction in the more confusing parts? Also, any questions that come to mind for me to explain in the lore doc?
Is the geography more or less realistic? The mountains in particular look a little weird to me. The topography might also seem a little funky.
And lastly, any aesthetic failings, or things I could do to make it prettier? Thank yooou
Ok I may or may not have a dumbass question. How does cover scent and/or scent elimination work? I know some mask your scent with stronger ones (which, according to this sub is just snake-oil for deer), but are there ones that can actually reduce how much of a scent you give off?
Ok, I must admit, I am not going hunting. I just don’t like men’s deodorant, and the idea of smelling like absolutely nothing appeals to me. As such, even if it is crap for deer, is there anything that would work pretty well for human noses at least? If this is not the tree to go barking up (which is about hunting bears and stuff right?), are there any other, accessible and cheap ways to achieve this?
