A level grades for US applications?

i cant really find a lot about the average a level grades that people get when they go to the US. most schools that i look at barely even mention entry requirements for british students. i'm not that interested in ivy league or t20s, nor am i interested in super competitive programs so please dont comment a*a*a* lol

Would you ever pay for private healthcare or private insurance?

Without the removal/restriction of medicare!!! Suppose that medicare continues exactly the way it is. Everyone has free healthcare no matter their income but there is also an option to go to a private hospital/pay for private insurance (ALL services, not just for vision, dental etc.). This is the way it works in the UK, Germany, France etc.
For prices, consider them to be similar to the US, ~ 12000 CAD for an individual plan and ~ 35000 CAD for a family plan.

should i give my kids last names?

since me and hubby have different last names (no incest over here) we dont know what last name our kids should have. at first we were thinking wed give our favourite kid my last name bc its cute and the other kid my hubbys bc its ugly but last names in general feel so dated to us. like why do peoples names have to be so long??? what if the kids are lazy and cant be asked to spell their full name?? just so many issues. we dont want to give our kids last names so they can be unique but apparently this is 'dumb' and will 'cause issues for the rest of their lives' according to my MIL. she suggested we should combine our last names together and give our kids that unique last name. what do you guys think?

chance me as an a level student applying to north america!!

except plot twist.. i dont have straight As. im probably applying as an environmental science major, chance me for cal states, asu, ohio state, less competitive UCs, t15 canada and any more you can think of that are similar.

i do bio chem psych and im doing really bad in bio and chem right now. i'll try to finesse Cs at least but i have no idea what ill get predicted. i could probably push for an A in psych.

i have relevant ECs to environmental science.. and i cant think of any other stats lol lmk if you have any other questions i cant think of anything more off the top of my head

how many people at your school do 4+ a levels?

i feel like on reddit everyone does MINIMUM 4 but there is only 1 person in my year (~90 students) who does 4 subjects. there was 2 or 3 other people at the start of the year who did 4 but they were all either KICKED OUT of them or heavily encouraged to drop 1. is it common to do 4 at your school? even my friends at other schools say that most people do 3 at their schools so idk if reddit just attracts more 4+ a level students lol

Since AAB is the new BBC, recommend me unis that have more relaxed grade requirements!!

I've been looking at environmental science, geoscience, planetary sciences and everything is MINIMUM ABB which seems so high to me. I can't get contextual offers because I'm probably not getting homestatus. Is there any unis that don't have a horrible rep but still have realistic entry requirements?

I don't think you can on common app but is there anyway to send like updated grades like in January? The December deadline isn't really representative of my grades because of the way my curriculum works.

I've been getting something repaired in my bathroom and I started smelling cigarette smoke faintly. I ignored it but it got stronger and it is currently the strongest when I walk past that bathroom. I am 99.9% sure it's cigarette smoke. I am obviously unhappy that someone is smoking inside a windowless room without my permission but I'm especially upset as me and my son have asthma and no one is allowed to smoke inside the house. I would've just let him smoke outside if he asked me but he never did. I didn't confront him and he left after he finished up.

Is this normal in Dubai? This is the first time I'm getting my house repaired here so I'm not aware of the norms here. Would it be rude if I asked him not to smoke when he comes back tomorrow?

Is there anything that people have on their digital footprint which unknowingly could cause issues? Stuff that isn't common knowledge?

I'm especially interested in how it works for influencers - even though I'm super private on socials lol. Take Nicole Laeno or Emily Ha for example, when they applied to college, did their social media presence affect their chances at all?
