I see some rural coastal properties in Greece are cheaper or same price as the ones in the Bulgarian Black Sea coast but in far more exotic locations with prettier nature so with so many Bulgarian buying property there it got me thinking. Realistically I know I can never pick up Greek. Most people I met in Athens and Thessaloniki speak English so I wonder in which Balkan countries can one live and get by with English?

Hello, I wonder if it's possible to find the creation date of each account so I can keep the oldest one? I don't want to have duplicate accounts but I have saved the account creation email of only one of them. Is it possible to see the creation date of my other two accounts? Thanks!

Arriving in Zagreb at 10:30 by plane from Sofia. Taking the first available bus to Rijeka. I have an open ticket for no set time. Spending the afternoon and evening there. Sleep in Rijeka.

Next day I booked the 8:00 bus from Rijeka to Baška in Krk because I've never been on an island. It will be in Baška around 10:00. I will spend 2 hours on the beach at Baška, then I booked the 12:00 bus to Rijeka. It arrives around 14:00 in Rijeka. Some stopover at the bus station and I have booked the 15:00 bus to Zagreb. It must arrive around 17:00 in Zagreb.

I will sleep in Zagreb and then start sightseeing in the morning after a good sleep. My return flight is scheduled for 22:30 so I hope I can see everything I want from 10:00 to around 20:00 when I plan to take a bus or taxi to the airport.

I survived the 10 hour train journey from Sofia to Bucharest so I wonder if spending 2 hours on the beach at Krk and the small stopover at the Rijeka bus station will be enough to catch my breath?

Will an afternoon and evening in Rijeka be enough to see everything there?

I am afraid Croats will be as notoriously unfriendly and rude as the people I met in Maribor. Especially since Rijeka and Zagreb are in the Northern parts of the country.

When I visited Maribor I found out Slovenes are as rude and cold as other Central Europeans. Maybe it goes with being lighter and blonder or something because none of the following lily white nations can be said to be warm and welcoming: Germans, Austrians, Czechs, Dutch, Brits, Scandinavians, Northern Italians, Poles, Russians, Balts. They tend to be reserved, and rather unwelcoming and unfriendly.

Please at least tell me if Croats and the kind of foreigners that visit Croatia aren't as openly aggressively rude as the locals and foreigners living in places like Prague, Munich, Bratislava, Amsterdam, London.

I wonder if anyone knows a good psychic reader that are good for wanna be expats? Like for example whether moving abroad is at all advisable or not for someone and if possible what specific countries/areas to look for jobs in/avoid. Thanks in advance!

Please recommend your most natural looking hair dye for men. I want to go from mousy dark brown (ex dishwasher blonde) to natural ginger, it really compliments my pale skin tone.
I've tried red coloring shampoos but they come off as too purple-toned, kind of cool colors. I feel like I need a warmer tone to really look better. I've tried bleached blonde and black and they make me look bad. I tried chocolate coloring shampoo and looked better than with my natural color but it wasn't as noticeable, I feel like I need a change and I am applying for acting gigs so getting noticed more is what I am after.

Perhaps something that's similar to Eddie Redmayne's color, I'm trying to avoid the excessive shine most female-targeting dyes have.

Thanks.

I am frankly envious of the Bulgarian guys who landed foreign brides, whether they're from another Balkan country or not. If only I was so lucky! I am also okay about Bulgarian women dating out, although that's far easier as the women are the one who choose. So a Bulgarian man with a French wife is more enviable than one of many Bulgarian women who married Frenchmen.

If they have children those kids will know 2 languages from the starts, also it must be fun to have a connection to two countries. I've always wished to have relatives somewhere abroad.

What about you?

I liked the ancient stuff and the Glyphada beaches in Athens but nothing else. Even tge residential districts were too much concrete, very few parks, didn't see many playgrounds. No space between the flats and there's this feeling concrete is everywhere and it feels claustrophobic.

I know Greek climate is hell in summer but places like Serres or Drama don't have much warmer summers than Bulgarian cities and yet even there tye apartment buildings are too packed close together.

Aside from the beaches I couldn't find a place within Athens to escape the claustrophobic feeling and experience wide open spaces.

I wonder why the Greaser/Rock late 50s era didn't produce contemporary movies showcasing said trends?

When it comes to teen culture movies it was just Gidget and nothing else much, the 60s produced more such youth culture movies.

All the American movies and TV shows with Rock'n'roll and gresers were shot later like Grease itself or Happy Days.

And not just the Rock/greaser subculture wasn't represented much at the time it was current, even regular teens and young people weren't seen much in movie much in the late 50s.

Ironically, there's more youth culture shown in movies between 1945-1955. Around the time rock started to take off it seems that movie directors wouldn't touch upon youth adulthood and teen themes until Gidget but even that movie sticks out in 1959. More similar movies were released in 1960 and beyond.

Was there a Pleasantville-like movie that was contemporary to that period, say 1957-1959?

Vigo and A Coruna are okay but cities like Gijon, Santander, Donostia-San Sebastian seem to be more prone to overcast weather than, say La Rochelle and Arcachon. La Rochelle has sunshine hours as much as some cities on the Mediterranean, while even Biarritz experiences roughly 1,935 hours while nearby San Sebastian gets only 1,784. Is it because all those cities on the Northern coast of Spain have hills or mountains to their South, blocking the Med air masses?

Carcassonne valley seems to act like a funnel for Mediterranean masses to get as far as the Western French coast but today the wind is blowing from the ocean so I think the location of the mountains in Spain and their relatively close location to the Northern coast is what keeps those clouds. The hills near Biarritz and Bayonne are lower and North of Bayonne it's mostly small rolling hills or valleys. Is relief the reason or something else?

The situation as of posting.

I feel like these days even tiny amounts of supplements trigger terrible side effects like nose bleeds (CoQ10, melatonine - yes, I tried them separately one at a time).

The latest is right now: I got severe migraine after taking half a table of vitamin C.

I said F it and just threw all my supplements away.

I think trying all kings of supplements over the years has taxed my kindeys and/or liver.

I can no longer tolerate even some herbs, like drinking some mild SJW literally sends me right into serotonin syndrome.

The only ones making me feel better are activated charcoal and Milk Thistle, that's more than telling.

Can anyone relate? Have you had times when you had to cut off all supplements for a while?

She seem to have been sort of the Debbie Gibson/Tiffany of Slovakia, before becoming Britney-like and heavy on plastic surgery in the 2000s.

The ending of the song and video with the stop motion effect in reverse from the opening scene and the music winding down is pure 80s delight.

We're Bulgarian but we saw property for sale in France that is surprisingly affordable.

We're talking 78,000 EUR for a 50 sq.m. apartment in a cute small town just 30 km from the Mediterranean coast. That's almost Karnobat, Bulgaria prices and Karnobat is about 53 km from the Black Sea coast! And definitely far uglier than that French town. Taxes in Bulgaria are really low but the prices of properties are booming and have reached crazy levels considering the local salaries. Houses in the middle of nowehere Bulgaria now cost the same or more than houses in the middle of nowhere in France. True, the small city and rural properties in France are often much older but also have withstood the test of time better it seems.

My parents are selling some land in Bulgaria and they now have reconsidered buying property here in Bulgaria when the prices in France are similar (unless you want to live in a big city or beach town).

We wonder if the French annual taxes on properties as well as taxes for buying property in France would be huge?

I've heard that Brits who have retired to France instead of Italy or Spain cite one of their reasons why is that the property taxes in Italy are higher and in Spain the taxes for purchasing property are higher than in France. They also say you get less for your buck in terms of infrastructure and public space maintenance in Italy compared to France. Is that true?

Hello, I couldn't find a legit table of the amount of real estate taxes between different countries. On reddit there are tables and maps on tax rates but they're about income taxes.

I wonder which countries have the best/worst taxation on vacation properties bought by foreigners? I see lots of Brits have bought properties in France for example, but less so in Italy so I wonder if it's just because France is closer to the UK or maybe Italy has higher annual taxes on property.

Has anyone seen some interesting data on yearly taxes on property?

Hello, I checked some flights on there and compared them to the ones on the official airline sites and their offer is often lower in price. I wonder if it's a scam?

I saw that the Sofia to Budapest flight would cost me only 1 EUR with their Upgrade plan plus 18 EUR for service fees.

Unfortunately the thing with my job is they often approve my time off requests too late, we're talking between 3 and 1 weeks before the requested days off. I like using weekends for being away because most doctors don't work in weekends and since I have numerous health issues I prefer to use as many days off as I can to visit doctors.

I am Europe-based so would you say a good way to spend less is to book fewer nights, like even take more but shorter trips for just weekend city breaks? My aim is to visit as many countries as I can without necessarily visiting many cities.

A friend suggested to avoid day trips and just focus on a single city for each trip to slash my train/bus expenses, which can be quite a sum in Northern and Western Europe even with pre-booked tickets. For example: Book 3 or 4 nights in Paris and just stay in Paris the whole time.

One mistake I did in the past was booking 3 or 4 nights in a smaller city where 2 nights or 1 full day would've been enough for seeing the most important things.

What are your tips and tricks for visiting as many European countries as possible without spending a lot when you can't book many months in advance? Would relying on weekend city breaks in Europe be worth it to save a buck and yet experience new places and cultures, e.g. flying to Copenhagen on Friday evening, spending the full Saturday there without any day trips, and flying back to my home country on Sunday evening.

Thanks!
