modem returned and they can't find it

I returned a modem not compatible with my device in July. Tmobile didn't apparently receive it or log it in properly. I am on my fourth phone call with these people. They keep telling me they've taken care of it - I've provided a tracking number to them for UPS - but emails keep saying my service will be suspended.

I returned it, per their instructions, as they told me to do. The store refused to return it, they said they couldn't do it, but packed it up for me. We then went to UPS.

I am beyond annoyed with this company. I am being penalized for their mistake.

What kind of men are attracted to the priesthood, in your opinion?

The good one I know is a very shy, scholarly man, who grew up in a super conservative Catholic home, likely some brainwashing going on.

Growing up a few of them seemed clueless, rude, sarcastic (this was the 70s, 80s). Then we had the famous "Father what a waste" who, when I spoke to him years later about my abuse (or tried), did what most of them do, protected the church. They're all like that. I did like Father S, who was funny, and nice, and a chain smoker.

I worked at a RC graduate school for a time and the ones I knew seemed either like misogynists, or in the closet, or in it for "power" as one mentioned to me. A lot were obvious academic nerd types who couldn't get enough of the church literature, lol. And more than one seemed very OCD. The nicest one is still my friend today but he's the brainwashed one and his whole life is the church. I don't think he can think outside the box much. He seems afraid to try.

mental health and catholics - don't discuss it with them, imo, period

when i was very depressed a "stephens minister" came by to give me therapist names. i'd seen this woman multiple times and she'd often been late. i had thrown up that day and she backed away from me - even though i told her it was from fear which was true - and said she was afraid i had a virus. she then stated she didn't want to "bother me" so wouldn't stay. when my cat made an appearance - she knew i had one - she further complained she was allergic (she'd stated this in past visits), although i was trying to shoo the cat away. if it's that bad, don't come in. this woman in the past also bitched about the thousands of dollars of damage done to her beach house, gave me a dirty look one time when i asked her for a ride, and was clearly very in love with herself and her position at the church. her disconnect from me and my situation was obvious. she made the entire visit about herself although i was desperate for some care and for someone to sit with me.

i finally blew up and told her off and asked her to leave. a lot had built up over time with this very wealthy church and their "care". she then proceeded to leave and call the head honcho of their bullshit ministry who said the woman thought i was "suicidal" although id never said anything of the sort and asked me if i was going to hurt myself. i told her no, thanked her, and hung up, and blocked them both on my phone. at no time did i feel any love or care, just people with big egos who thought they were "helping" when it turns out there was zero help.

friendships

This might come across as whiny but my trauma - CSA from adult male - has made relationships very hard.

My best friend is really old - more like surrogate dad - and is dying now. He's 88. He was the one, who was there for me.

Everyone else - tbh - drives me nuts. It's so hard to find people to have deep, meaningful relationships with. I'm an introvert, I'm in my 50s, and I'm single. Everyone I know is either married or in a community of some sort and I'm dealing with crap that has affected me for years - whole life. They can't relate to a life lived alone with my cat.

It seems like everyone just wants to text me - I LOATHE texting - or it's starting to feel performative. If they're married, they have some jackazz husband who has to take over our phone calls, as with one friend. Or else it always ends up the convo turns out to be all about them - I was starting to make a new friend then realized once again they talk to people to make it all about mememe. I had one online friend who had csa but his wife decided to nix our convos even though he lives in CA and I attempted to include her. I also assured her via text I cared for him only as a friend but I guess ppl are cynical. I am asexual and could care s--- less who you screw, frankly.

I was definitely not after him but that's how it goes. Always some hindrance to finding that friend I need. But can't find. And tbh, I'm really sad now that "J" is dying b.c. I did love him.

Who else deals with this, I wonder?
Does anyone else struggle with this? I'm not saying I'm perfect, but I just can't find my tribe. My bf was my tribe in some ways and now he's going to heaven.

let it go they tell me, be positive, move on

People are driving me nuts telling me to let it go, be positive and move on regarding my condition. I have had the diagnosis of c-ptsd since i was 23. I'm much older now. Trying to discuss it with anyone i know defaults to this position. I'm through discussing it and was wondering if anyone else got this malarkey. If you try and discuss your true feelings they immediately default to this kind of "toxic positivity" where they tell you God loves you and you are a precious person and this is not your real identity. The implication seems to be I'm negative, complaining, and haven't figured out the trick of "letting go" of my brain working the way it does due to CSA.

EDIT: Thanks for all the comments. I relate to a lot of it. Bless. x

Experiences with the RC Church as a School Employee

My true experiences as an ex employee of a Roman Catholic graduate school. I ain't naming names, but God knows what I went through. It wasn't fun.

During my time, I got to hang out with a lot of seminarians, nuns, and priests. A few were VERY nice people. A lot were point blank, nasty azzholes, some of the most rigid, judgmental, sexist, angry people you'd ever want to meet.

My experiences: yelled at by a priest because he was having a bad day. I told him off and he didn't yell at me anymore. He was in admissions and I once shiz tested him by saying there ought to be more men in power. He looked at me and said, "You're right about that".

Sexually harassed by a priest in his office. I later outed him on a site where his books still hang out, and they no longer let me post reviews. The school told him not to sit with me anymore, but he tried to anyway. I was told by the academic dean that he didn't know what he was doing and the behavior was defended. Later on the dean sort of apologized. I elected not to go through a formal process, as I was young, scared, and had already had trauma in my life. I also called the priest up years later and told him off.

Told by another priest he got into it because of the "political" power.

Knew a seminarian who wanted to go "look at the view" in a secluded area late at night after we went out for what I thought was just a friendly hang-out. He then started flirting (I didn't flirt back), I guess one last fling was on his mind before he joined the Celibate Gang. All my alarm bells went off and I said no thank you. I am pretty sure he would have raped me - in fact, my gut knows that. Later on, I saw him and he gave me a hard time about some woman the admissions office had decided not to accept. It was due to her transcript and other issues. He decided the office had some vendetta against her (it didn't, she was lying about stuff). He admitted he was having feelings for a woman at his parish. He was one of the most arrogant azzholes I've ever met.

Oh yeah, I'd say at least half the seminarians in class there (I worked in admissions) were gay and in it for power and b.c. they couldn't deal with their sexuality. I think probably they just assumed they'd be able to sleep with other priests. I am quite sure some of them were sleeping with other seminarians anyway. I'm not homophobic, but the disconnect there is quite interesting with church teachings at the time (the 90s).

One of the brothers there referred out loud to his dick as being "unemployed" and used to come in and be very nasty to my boss, who was a woman. He felt clearly he was "less than", because the hierarchy in this place was insane. He was friends with one of the sociopathic nuns, who was also a bitter and angry woman. They would tell anybody off in a heartbeat.

I've got plenty of other stories. This is all true. I ended up leaving the place after about 2 years, mostly due to the priest who harmed me. The most decent person there was a priest, a saint, who became a friend, and one of the librarians, a man who was kind and decent. Most of the people operated in denial, nobody seemed particularly happy, and everyone seemed to have a personality disorder of some kind. The creepiest thing was seeing one of the priests who worked in admissions - who was obviously gay - end up getting married to a woman. He used to make moon eyes at one of the other priests. The denial in this place was insane.

The Catholic church is a shiz show, times 1000x, IMO.

Reasons Meghan Markle married Prince Harry?

So would MM have married Prince Harry if he was a plumber? Obviously, not. So do guys like Harry just adjust their perceptions accordingly? Knowing on some level that she's marrying him essentially for status/money/power? Or does he simply not care?

Lenovo N22 chromebook issue

I can't hear any sound on discord voice channels. I enabled mic permissions. It said the browser has reached its limit for updates. I've tried to fix this issue. On discord itself, it won't even let me say the voice/video tab - I've got to zoom in to like 25 percent. I've tried to fiddle on there barely able to see anything. Does anyone know how to fix this or do you have to buy a new updated chromebook

Home for the Holidays

A movie directed by Jodie Foster that has a very, very creepy character performed by Robert Downey Jr. His character crashes into his sister's bedroom (Holly Hunter) at night and decides to grab her and take a picture of her when she's in bed. He proceeds to also run into her bathroom when she's showering and take a picture of her naked too. Apparently it's OK b.c. he's gay and this is a kooky film about insane people and isn't that adorable. The creepiest movie people apparently love.

privileged priesthood

I honestly think many priests go into it b.c. they get treated like kings. Look up Fr. Dan Reehil on youtube. He was discussing the "country club" atmosphere of his retreat . He's got what I call throne chairs on his podcast, his entire studio looks like it cost a pretty mint. He is a former wall street employee lol. He transferred his secular lifestyle to one that still pretty much affords him an extremely comfortable lifestyle. Diocesan priests don't pay rent and get to keep a lot of their money. Housing is provided. He's always discussing his retreats to San Diego and elsewhere.

Priests go on retreats and conferences all over the country. I know one who lives in an 11 room house (rectory housing), drives an SUV, has a condo and a beach house. The rectory is gorgeous. Father Leo on EWTN goes all over the place eating the finest foods in Europe. Priests often get global tours, they get to go all over the place. As one told me, "it just got better and better" as he was given trips to many places like Turkey, Israel, you name it, he seems to have gone there. Take away all the perks, would they still be salivating to be priests? I'm sure some would, the ones that actually take the gospel message and care for the poor. It appears to me a lot of them are living quite high on the hog and like it that way. I find it utterly disgusting, frankly.

yourDNAportal results

I uploaded my DNA results to yourDNAportal and it said this:

rs3750904TC

People with your genotype have one copy of this mutation that is indicative of Native American ancestry.

What exactly does this mean? I had distant cousins with native ancestry on my ancestryDNA test. But not listed for me specifically.
