Game Design - Feedback

Would love some advice on my game that I have recently released. It is a minimalist, typewriter-noir WWII command sim. The constraint is keeping everything looking like real WWII paperwork

Looking for feedback on three specific parts that I have struggled with

1. Logistical Bars**:** (Manpower, Fuel, Time) use a relative horizontal bar centered at zero (0 = historical baseline, -1 = deficit, +2 = surplus). Is a zero baseline clear?

2. Buttons on Paper Cards**:** Choices look like typed order forms rather than standard digital buttons. How do you clearly differentiate clickable orders, resource-locked choices, and static quote text without breaking the analog paper feel?

  1. How to keep the walls of text fresh ?!??

I have opened it up so totally free to have a look

Have hope & a demo

Solo Dev here and coming with hope and positivity! I released a game a month ago, I got great reviews and the play numbers were much higher than expected considering my limited marketing but absolutely no sales. Not that I expected anything as it was a passion project for me but I see lots of people put really great games out and get down that it hadn’t been bought so I wanted to share my experience

Yesterday I locked down my game. It’s a World War 2 command simulator called Dispatches 1940.

The first campaign was completely free but the two subsequent campaigns you had to buy the full game. I went from marketing and no sales in a month to FOUR sales in 24 hours!

I hadn’t even made a post or tried to market the change. It has just happened organically

I know it can feel difficult to lock something down but just wanted to share and let you know your game is probably great but if it if completely free but you are wanting people to buy it maybe something to consider

P.S To the 4 people who bought the game yesterday. I want to thank you soo much. It genuinely meant the world

P.S.S game is here https://dispatches.itch.io/dispatches-1940

P.S.S.S would love to return the favour so anything someone would like me to review happy to put some time to

Dispatches 1940

Achtung! Achtung!

I just launched Dispatches 1940 on itch.io!

A historically accurate text-based World War II simulator. For free and playable on your browser. Made to really bring to the life the points contested by historians and can explore alternate histories. Brings in a logistical triangle to manage and influence your management of the war and asks would you have pushed into Dunkirk? Delayed Barbarossa? Rebuilt your factories out east?

Previously worked in the games industry but I’ve never actually finished a game myself. This started with long hypothetical conversations with my dad about the war so it would just be lovely to hear someone has enjoyed it and let me know what your thoughts were and if there would be any other alternate histories you would want to explore

I will be waiting with anticipation
