Is Finland still worth it for an international Computer Science student who wants to build a long-term career there?

Hi everyone,

Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by Finland. I honestly don't know why, but something about the country has always inspired me. The education system, the fact that it has consistently been ranked among the happiest countries in the world, the work-life balance, the nature, the culture, and the quality of life—Finland has been my dream for as long as I can remember.

I'm currently applying for a Bachelor's in Computer Science at Finnish universities as an international student.

However, I've been reading mixed opinions about the tech job market. Some people say it's becoming difficult for entry-level software engineers, while others say there are still good opportunities if you have the right skills.

I'm not looking for unrealistic reassurance—I just want an honest picture from people who actually live in Finland or have studied there.

A few questions:

How difficult is it for an international bachelor's graduate to get their first software engineering job?

Is the current entry-level tech market really that bad?

Does not speaking Finnish make it significantly harder, even in software development?

If someone works hard, builds strong projects, gets internships, and graduates with good skills, is finding a job still realistic?

If you were in my position today, would you still choose Finland?

I'm genuinely passionate about software engineering and I'm prepared to put in the work. I enjoy coding, I'm willing to build projects, practice algorithms, network, and do whatever it takes to become a strong candidate.

I'd really appreciate honest advice—both positive and negative. I want to make an informed decision before committing to this path.

Kiitos! 🇫🇮

For the medicine and surgery course how many years of funds to be shown to the VISA office

As the visa is valid for 1 year , I heard most people are saying that only for 1 year (6000-10000€ + some extra) is to be shown while a few are creating confusion that are implying that 6 years of funds are to be shown

Should I choose KTH for ICT? Worried about the Swedish job market

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student and I've recently received an offer of admission for the Bachelor's in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.

I'm really excited about the opportunity, but I'm also genuinely concerned about the job market after graduation. Since studying abroad is a significant financial investment for my family, I want to make an informed decision.

I have a few questions:

How is the job market in Sweden for international students with only a bachelor's degree in ICT/Computer Science?

Is a bachelor's generally enough to land an entry-level software engineering or IT job, or is a master's degree practically expected?

How difficult is it for non-EU graduates to secure a job and work permit after graduation?

If you were in my position, would you choose KTH for this program?

I'd really appreciate hearing from current students, alumni, or anyone working in Sweden's tech industry.

Thank you in advance!

Is 6 months enough to crack BITSAT or COMEDK for CSE at BITS Pilani or RVCE?

I'm looking for honest advice from people who have actually prepared for these exams.

I have about 6 months left before the exams, and I'm wondering if it's realistically possible to prepare well enough to get CSE at BITS Pilani (through BITSAT) or RV College of Engineering (through COMEDK) if I start taking my preparation seriously from now.

I'm not looking for motivation or false hope—I just want realistic opinions.

Need Honest Opinions: Is My Profile Strong Enough for Ivy League?

Hey everyone,

This is my profile, and I'd appreciate your honest opinion on whether I have a realistic chance of getting significant financial aid or a full scholarship for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in the United States.

Academics:

- Class 10: 86%

- Class 11: 96%

- Expected Class 12: 95%

- SAT: 1500

Extracurricular Activities:

- Volunteered with two NGOs.

- Built two coding projects.

- Earned two coding certificates.

- Worked with a company where I led a team of around 100 people. Through this initiative, I helped underprivileged and elderly people improve their financial literacy and taught them how to use technology in their daily lives, making it easier for them to access digital services and become more comfortable with technology.

Based on this profile, do you think I have a good chance of receiving financial aid at U.S. universities for Computer Science? Any advice on improving my application or recommendations for universities would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Best Bachelor's Degree for Strong Job Prospects by 2031?

Hey everyone,

Studying and building a career in the US has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I'm planning to apply for the Fall 2027 bachelor's intake.

I'm trying to choose a degree that will still have strong job prospects by the time I graduate (around 2031). I know nobody can predict the future with certainty, but I'd love to hear your opinions.

If you were starting college in 2027, which bachelor's degree would you choose to maximize employability, good salary, and long-term career growth while avoiding fields that are likely to become oversaturated?

I'm open to any suggestions—whether it's engineering, computer science, finance, healthcare, data science, or something else. I'd especially appreciate insights from people already working in the US or those who've recently graduated.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

International student considering UvA/TU Delft for CS – Is finding sponsored work realistic?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to apply for a Bachelor's in Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam and TU Delft as an international student.

For those who have studied or are working in the Netherlands, how realistic is it to find a sponsored job after graduation? From what I understand, international graduates get a one-year orientation (job search) visa. Is that generally enough time to secure a job that will sponsor a work visa, especially in software engineering or tech?

I'd also love to hear about:

How the CS job market is for new graduates.

Whether employers are generally willing to sponsor international graduates.

If choosing UvA vs. TU Delft makes any difference for employability.

Any advice you wish you had known before coming to the Netherlands.

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Adelaide University for CS as an international student – worth it for IT jobs?

Hey everyone,

I recently received an offer letter from Adelaide University for a Bachelor's in Computer Science, and I'm trying to decide whether it's the right choice.

My biggest concern is employment after graduation. As an international student, how difficult is it to land a software engineering, cloud engineering, or other IT role in Australia?

If I spend the next three years building a strong profile, maintaining good grades, doing internships, working on projects, earning relevant certifications, and practicing coding interviews—would that realistically put me in a good position to secure a decent IT job after graduation?

I'd really appreciate hearing from current students, alumni, or anyone working in the Australian tech industry. Do you think Adelaide University is a good option, or would you recommend looking elsewhere?
