can someone confirm the accuracy of Clemson debt making the oos acceptance less competitive

i read on Clemson FB group, along w/a google update, that Clemson has $1.15 billion accrued debt, alongside total long-term liabilities reaching $2.65 billion. is this fact allowing for some leniency in oos acceptance rate? (it also mentioned the trustees have also been discussing budget cuts due to the financial pressure).

my son is applying oos as a biology major this fall. stats 3.8 uw/1360 SAT (retaking in a few wks). although it’s test optional, i figured anything helps. i’ve read that the biology major at Clemson is very competitive. however, i was wondering if the rumor is true about acceptance leniency to help
w/their debt. ty for any insight.

has anyone done the school visit focused on the Center for Life Sciences bldg that houses several majors (not just biology)

that specific session is titled “Natural and Mathematical Sciences Academic Overview SU26”

my son’s applying oos to OSU in the fall as a biology major. my question is, since the primary focus of that visit is providing resources and opportunities available to students in all the majors in the College of Arts and Sciences: Actuarial Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer and Information Science, Data Analytics, Earth Sciences, Evolution and Ecology, Integrated Major in Mathematics and English, Mathematics, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology…he’s mainly honed in on biology/Molecular Genetics.

he’s aware that any of those majors in addition to (psychology and other subjects) are qualified to prepare for MCAT, he’s not interested in them. can anyone advise if the OSU standard admissions/guided tour may be more beneficial. thank you

difficulty of admissions applying as biology major?

i’m currently about to start Sr. yr. i’m applying oos to Clemson as a biology major next month. stats
3.8 uw, SAT 1320 (re-taking it 8/22). i also have a
well-rounded application. this includes 2 yrs Varsity baseball, many volunteer hrs, EC’s, school clubs etc. if i get accepted, my goal is to complete all of the required courses for the pre-med track. overall, i was wondering how competitive the bio major is to get accepted. i’ve researched info. on google. however, it’s somewhat of a slippery slope taking google’s info. as the gospel. ty for any input.

advice re: psu or msu

my son’s applying for bio premed track in fall. supposedly, from what i’ve read, PSU doesn’t offer internships, premed. programs etc. MSU has all the above plus medical facilities on campus. he’s always wanted to go to PSU, but i’m thinking it may not be a practical choice for his major. any advice from anyone familiar w/the major for both schools. ty
