Why some see opportunities and others dont (Making money)

moneys not real of course but its the imaginary tool that defines success today and buys any life a person wants. the internet created endless opportunities to make exponential wealth, regardless of your starting point. the reality is that higher intelligence makes it easier to spot and exploit these opportunities, not every intelligent person is rich of course but its a massive advantage for someone who wants to do it. most people simply cant see whats right infront of them, which is why the same few keep getting ahead while the rest stay stuck complaining about how "hard" it is.

questions for vegans about animal welfare and domestication

to start i want to say im an animal based eating person currently i just have a question for people who are vegan because they want to save animals apparently

one why dont you help support local farmers who raise happy and healthy animals putting your dollar towards these hardworking peoples normally generational family businesses is the only true way you can have an impact on the corporate giants who do inhumane practices on mass farmed animals

two, elaborating on my last point for the vegans who buy plant alternative foods from these same corporate giants, why? your dollar is going to alot of the same companies who do these inhumane animal practices in mass farming even the companies who dont they still have very real environmental impacts on many animals habitats with the amount of pollution and direct habitat destruction these companies do

id also like to say why is raising healthy happy farm animals seen as inhumane or cruel to you? if an animal is given a good life, proper food, space, care, and isnt left to suffer, why is that considered immoral? humans and domesticated farm animals have had this relationship for thousands of years. over generations these animals have been domesticated alongside humans and have evolved around this relationship. are you against domestication of animals entirely or only when it comes to farm animals? because if youre against farming them because theyre domesticated then wouldnt that also mean youre against the domestication of animals as a whole?

Dumpster behind a grocery store feeds me better than my mom's EBT ever did

For some background: growing up and even still now, I live with my grandmother and my mother. My grandmother isn't home most of the time she's either at work a lot or away on long trips. My mother has always been on and off about buying food for the house. She gets a large amount of EBT for me and my brother every month, but despite that, I never had access to regular healthy food growing up. When she did buy food, it was the cheapest, most unhealthy stuff nothing nutrient-dense or filling. Snacks, junk food, frozen pre-made meals, rice, cereal easy cheap junk was what was common in my house. What wasn't common was regular whole food. Meat was rare, and eggs, fruit, and healthy animal products have always been hard to access because she would barely ever buy them.

Because of that, I've struggled with malnutrition a lot in my earlier life. For years I could never hold a strong grip with my hands, and I had constant weakness, fatigue, and other signs of malnutrition in my hair and my general health.

Where I live is very rural with no way to get around without a vehicle, and even when I did manage to get a car, I could never afford the maintenance costs. But back when I still had it, I went out one night and decided to try dumpster diving, and this one small chain store near my house ended up completely changing my life when it comes to accessing real, whole, healthy food.

One of my first few times diving at this store, I legit found around 12–14 packs of pre-sliced short ribs. I went a little after closing, it was cold out, and I could tell they had just been thrown out, so I was sure they were still good. That night I brought home more meat than I'd ever seen in my house, ever. For the next few weeks I ate the best I had in my entire life, and I felt so much better having access to something like short rib steaks every day. My mom never questioned where all the meat came from, and she even ate some of it — which I don't mind, but honestly I wish she would've at least asked.

Around 2 months ago I got my first e-bike, and it finally gave me the freedom to go out and find food for myself. That's when I turned this into an every-night thing at that same store. Over these months I've found literally an incredible amount of meat, eggs, and cheeses, and even some fruit that was still good, which I blended into amazing drinks. I quickly figured out around what time this store always throws out their meat and produce, and I've been going basically every night since, coming home with amazing amounts of meat and animal products to eat every day. I've never been so happy in my life with the amount of free, healthy food I can easily access. All types of beef, chicken, fish, pork, and eggs are the main variety of what I find, and some nights I find insane amounts of meat. I love having my e-bike for this because it gives me a completely free way to get there every night, compared to other dumpster divers who usually have to pay for gas. Out here in rural NC, I think that's a real advantage.

Unfortunately, about 2 weeks ago my e-bike's back tire went out. I originally thought it was just a flat, and only found out two weeks later that it was actually the inner tube. I finally managed to fix it today. These last two weeks have been hell for me, because around a week ago I accidentally left out all the ground beef reserves I had from dumpster diving and lost all of it. I've basically been starving for a week, because like usual, my mom never buys food for the house and never feels concerned with buying real animal foods just because they're more expensive when they're more expensive for a reason. I NEED these foods to survive, and I don't understand why the majority of what she buys with the EBT meant to feed us is ultra-processed junk.

Anyway, after fixing my bike tonight, I'm ecstatic to get back to dumpster diving, and I'm so glad I can stop starving now like I have been, like I have been for basically all my life.

I won't name the store I dive at, but just know there are some stores out there that allow dumpster diving. One time I even went during the day, and when employees came out back briefly, they told me I was fine to keep diving which is exactly why I love this store. Unlike the big chains that compact all their perfectly good food, this small store actually lets people access it, and it's genuinely changed my life.

edit: added a censored pic of that first short rib haul since people asked
