Do we know anything about her extended family from Pat's side?

Does anyone know anything about Pat's family upbringing/dynamic besides being racist, I've never seen any extended family members from that side say they have a family relation and you think they would considering she's been in the spotlight for 35 years. I'm pretty sure we've heard of some cousins from her dad. I know she mentioned she visited some relatives on her mom's side because she was lighter and more "presentable" (sorry if that's the wrong wording) than Morgan or Allison but I've never even seen a picture of her Irish grandparents even though we've seen the one picture of her paternal grandmother and grandfather a lot.

Learn Portuguese or Tagalog

I already speak English and Spanish and I'm looking for something FUN to learn this summer. I am thinking that Portuguese or Tagalog would be pretty chill to learn and they have really fun and robust entertainment options (music, web content, shows/movies) to keep me busy. I'm not looking for super deep knowledge, just enjoying learning slang and basic understanding. Which would you recommend based on it being fun to learn!

What would be your Blackout music video concepts?

For obvious reasons this album didn't get the full promotional rollout it deserved for the era, but how did you change our existing 3 videos and what video concepts would you create for the other songs on the album? I actually like Break the Ice anime style, but I would integrate a dance break by Britney. I feel like Get Back could have had a super cool video with some type of packed club and Britney dancing with a hot guy dancer and Heaven on Earth could have the whimsical car vibes of Do Somethin'. Gimme More is such a peak song, but it's almost too sacred for me to change. I'm interested to hear all of your concepts!

What Spanish words does Bisaya use that aren't in Tagalog?

I'm just curious because I've heard Bisaya doesn't have as many Spanish loanwords as Chavacano, but it has more than Tagalog, Ilocano, and Bicolano. What are some of these words?

What languages are we learning?

I'm perfecting my lifelong endeavor of Spanish (still learning something new every day), French, and planning to start Chinese, Nahuatl, and Tagalog! Can you tell I'm a nerd 🤓😅!?

Best languages to learn for the future?

Which languages would you recommend learning as they gain relevance and more speakers? Without sounding ignorant, languages like Japanese, Russian, and French seem like they will be in a different place in the next 50 years if not 25 years due to population decline and geopolitics. I am interested in hearing what languages you think will see a boost in importance or people wanting to learn (besides English of course)?

Which language should I learn for a fun summer challenge?

I have a lot of time on my hands this summer, and I want to dedicate the next 2+ months to learning a language. My end goal is to be able to watch some movies or shows with English subs. I'm not expecting to get fluent by the end of the summer, I just like being dedicated to a good challenge! The contenders are:

Mandarin 🇨🇳🐼

Tagalog 🇵🇭🏝

Russian 🇷🇺🪆

Hindi🇮🇳🐅

Arabic 🇱🇧🏜

Which language for a fun summer challenge?

Hi all! I have a lot of time on my hands this summer, and I want to dedicate the next 2+ months to learning a language. I'm thinking an A2 level is most realistic goal that I want to shoot towards with a heavier focus on being able to watch some movies or shows with English subs as an end goal. The most important thing to me is decent quality media and music and quality free resources like Youtube channels or free online courses. Difficulty isn't too much of a consideration for me because I'm not expecting to get fluent by the end of the summer. The contenders are:

Mandarin 🇨🇳🐼: I'm interested in learning more about current Chinese culture and exploring platforms and content that aren't easily accessed by Westerners simply due to the language barrier. I also would love to go to Taiwan someday and the prospect of exploring Chinese media that isn't just HK/Canto is a plus(I think I've only seen Ne Zha so far).

Tagalog 🇵🇭🏝: I really like the friendliness of the Filipino people I have met and the Philippines is on my bucket list to visit. I speak Spanish so it's cool to see the parallels with Latino culture but also learning more about SE Asian culture and not to mention the tasty cuisine (did I mention I'm food driven 😝).

Russian 🇷🇺🪆: I go through phases of like Molchat Doma and similar post punk groups and I recently listened to KINO for the first time and really liked what I heard!! I also have an unhealthy obsession with how cute Cheburashka is! I also like that Russian is a lingua franca, so learning more about both Russia and other countries that have Russian speaking communities would be something I'm interested in.

Hindi🇮🇳🐅: I like how bold and colorful Indian culture is. I have seen a few Bollywood films and I like the musical numbers and joyful choreography. India is a massive country with many languages and cultures, but hopefully Hindi can be a gateway to learn and experience more!

Arabic 🇱🇧🏜: I really like Middle Eastern cuisine and particularly am drawn to the Levantine sphere of music and culture. I keep wanting to find some good Arabic movies and find more songs (I like Fairuz and Dalida so far) but I never commit to it 😭.
