My results :)
My previous times on Standard were around 1:08 and Hardcore 1:30 so I'm pretty proud of these. Took me about two weeks and A LOT of practice. Full disclaimer I did restart on autosave on Standard just to get the time under an hour, I found it incredibly hard to get everything perfectly considering how fast you have to play the game. One mistake and you're down 10-15 seconds and its too slow. I did boss fights on 70% image quality. I tried stair skating, I'm pretty sure I dont do it right and I def dont do quick turning right. Assisted times arent far off from Standard I know and this mostly comes down to me being slow and not the game being hard. Low key bothers me that I didnt notice I have one save on Claire A Standard but considering I relied on autosave it doesn't really matter.
I skipped picking up shotgun in RPD on Leon to save time and I think I skipped GL on Claire A. I already dont pick magnum/smg anyway so obv didnt here either. Ran through all the dogs, skipped as many zombies as possible. Leon B took me the most attempts to get right. This is probably the last time I'll be actually speedrunning the game, its one of my favourite games and honestly this challenge to get Hardcore no save under 1:15 was very fun. I got to 1:20 or 1:17 and thought 'I can do better', and I did:)

I'm new to cooking anything and I love burgers but mine are 'eh'
Hi all, I recently started cooking burgers with 85/15 chuck, and I use around 15-17 different seasonings. Just wondering why my burgers don’t taste like burgers I have at a BBQ or from a restaurant. I want that flavor. I use half stick of butter to coat the pan before putting the patties in and dump it back over the burgers after they’re done but it still doesn’t elevate that flavor the way I want. Help would be appreciated Ty.

Got my first standard run under an hour!
Jesus christ this was so hard. I'm a little rusty at the game so this took a couple of days of practice. I'm used to playing on PC with a controller so I can't do quick turns that easily, and playing the whole game in caution is really difficult. Ngl I had to restart the boss fights a few times because I find it really hard to nail a fight on a first try, G2 is very tricky and G3 just wouldn't die quick enough (I probably messed up by accidently killing a few zombies). I can pretty confidently say I'll never do a hardcore run under an hour. No grenade launcher or any special weapons other than spark shot. I finished entire RPD in about 20:30, sewers by 40:00 and by 50:00 I was heading to G3 fight which was just enough time to get it done. I'm working on B run now which I got down to 1:02 but looking at a video I had the route kind of wrong so I can def do better.

I read a bunch of good fics lately so i thought I'll share. It's not necessarily something that was recently posted but something I recently read. I steer towards lighter fics not heavy on angst and with some smut in them. Hopefully people who have 'nothing to read' fill find something here (unless you've read these already in which case good for you:)

Summary: AU in which Shane offers to marry Ilya before their rookie season to help get him a visa.
Why read it: it's a great story that's kind of a more wholesome version of Heated Rivalry and has a different spin on The Long Game ending which I love very much. The way they defend and fight for their marriage was delightful to read. And there's smut. If you need any more reason to read it.

Summary: Shane is the only Omega in NHL which isn't easy and hooking up with Rozanov is very risky but they can't stop being drawn to each other.
Why read it: you know what, I actually don't care if you don't read about A/O/B dynamics, you should read this fic anyway because it's that good. Omegaverse adds another layer to their relationship that is just fascinating to read about, and lore in this universe is very detailed and sadly not very nice to read about but the most realistic version of Omegaverse I've read. There's some angst in here but I cried mostly on more wholesome scenes. I laughed, I cried, I was so obsessed I read it in two days. Amazing ending too.

Summary: no hockey AU where characters from the books are a group of friends who every summer meet up at Shane's lake house. Something happens between Shane and Ilya that changes their friendship forever.
Why read it: I didn't know how to describe this without giving away spoilers but 'something' is nothing bad. This was just lovely, and felt kind of nostalgic somehow. Smut included, and it's very hot. If you have about 2h to kill that's a perfect fic for it.

Summary: Shane can't sleep and confronts his new neighbour about the noise. The only problem is said neighbour is very hot and has Russian accent.
Why read it: it's fluffy, it's fun, it's cute, it's the epitomy of 'Idiots in love' "tag.

Summary: Married Hollanov realises they've never been on an actual date and they decide to fix that and have some fun while at it, pretending they just met at a grocery store.
Why read it: I think the premise speaks for itself, it's cure and a little smutty, no angst detected.

Summary: Ilya takes care of Shane after his wisdom tooth's extraction (heavily inspired by the hospital scene in the show).
Why read it: oh my gosh, this will put the biggest smile on your face but also probably, very likely, make you cry a little. It's so sweet and adorable.

Ten Easy Steps to Being a Good Boyfriend

Summary: set after the cottage. Shane is terrified of being a bad boyfriend so he turns into online articles for help. Ilya is convinced Shane is gonna break with him.
Why read it: I don't know if I would call this 'fluffy' because it was kind of breaking my heart how Ilya was interpreting these sweet gestures as signs that something is wrong but it's funny and of course there's a happy ending:)
