How to tell my mom/parents I want boobs

15 y/o. AMAB. Came out in February. Parents are super supportive, and I realize how lucky I am to be able to say that. I realize that so much that I kinda feel guilty saying it online.

I’m dressing femme around the house, skirts and drssses etc, but TBH i look like a femboy, and I have the chest of a 12 y/o.

Thankfully gendering affirming care is still available in my state, but realistically HRT is still a long ways away relatively speaking. And of course I want boobs now. Like I said, super supporter parents, but because of that I’ve been trying to take things kinda slow, let them ease in — but damnit I want boobs.

I just can’t wrap my head around a way to ask my mom to take me shopping for breast forms.

It’s 8am in the morning, and I crave pho

I know that traditionally, in Vietnam, Pho is considered a morning meal.

So how can I convince my white, suburban dad to take his favorite (only) daughter out for a Pho breakfast?

Help me.

Goth Modesty. Is it a thing?

Do these two ideas go together? Can I still look goth while dressing more modestly?

I’m a 15-year-old trans girl who came out to my family and friends back in February. I’m pretty introverted, and I’ve realized I feel more comfortable, more empowered, even, wearing modest clothing. At the same time, I still want to look like the dark, spooky girl I am inside.

If I had to describe the aesthetic I’m trying to create, I’d call it “New England Gothic” or better still, “Dark Puritan.” Think stark, severe, austere, modest… and witchy as hell.

I don’t really see myself in the more revealing side of goth fashion. I’m drawn to long skirts and dresses, high necklines, dark layers, old-fashioned silhouettes, and clothes that feel mysterious rather than flashy.

Does anyone else have a similar style, or know of fashion inspirations that fit this aesthetic? I’d love to hear any thoughts, recommendations and/or general advice from my spooky sisters.

Goth Trans Girl coming down from the rafters to say hello

What cheer? 🖤

I’m a young (15 y/o) goth trans girl who very recently (February) came out to my parents, family, and friends, and I wanted to finally introduce myself to the larger trans community, especially my trans sisters, as myself.

I love all things dark, morbid, and strange. Autumn is my favorite season, followed closely by Winter. Spring, I tolerate well enough. Summer, on the other hand, I endure as one does a plague.

My favorite book is The Scarlet Letter. My favorite movie is The Witch, because honestly, I too would like to wear a pretty dress and live deliciously. Accordingly, my chosen first and middle names are Hester and Thomasin.

I’ve always loved that stark, severe, modest, and austere Puritan aesthetic, and I think it pairs beautifully with goth fashion. If I had to name my personal style, it would be “Dark Puritan” or “New England Gothic.”

Goth, Ethereal Wave, Dark Folk, and American Gothic are my amongst my favorite musical genres. I adore murder ballads. Nick Cave & PJ Harvey’s Henry Lee is my current favorite song, and my mother is sick of hearing it, as well as a little weirded out that I have it on repeat. It’s fun being the spooky daughter. 👻

I am a child of two capes. My mother’s side of the family comes from New England, Massachusetts, Cape Ann specifically, and more generally the North Shore, which happens to include Salem. My father’s people hail from Cape Hatteras and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I like to imagine I have the blood of both pirates and Puritans running through my veins: witches and wenches, as it were. I claim as my spiritual sisters the likes of Anne Bonny and Bridget Bishop.

Besides my collection of “pretty little dead things,” my other hobbies include writing and living history: historical fashion, historical cooking (Townsends shout-out), and historical reenactment. I also enjoy dressmaking, embroidery, needlepoint, cross-stitch, and afternoon tea.

My biggest guilty pleasure: K-Pop. But if you confront me about it in public, I will deny it, vehemently. Then shalt I hex thee.

I have a dog. He’s a 215 pound Mastiff who thinks he’s a Chihuahua. His name is Burgermeister Meisterburger aka Burger. I did not name him.

Good meeting. 🦇

As a newly out trans girl, I believe in Pride, but what can’t we celebrate it in November?

It’s too damn hot outside. My goth ass wasn’t built for this weather. Watching a parade, while standing out in 110 degree heat doesn’t make me feel prideful, it makes me feel sweaty.

Bleh.

Ladies please help a newly out Transgirl: What goes in my bag?

15 y/o. Recently came out to family and friends. I’ve never needed to carry around a handbag before, and my bag game needs help.

What goes in your bag? How do you organize your bag? How many bags, and what kind of bags do you need for various occasions?

Aesthetically I’m leaning satchel bag, but I want to learn about all the various styles.

I’m making an old fashion boiled pudding

It’s the dessert course for a “Townsends Inspired” colonial era Sunday dinner I’m making for my family tomorrow.

Pork and apple pies
Boston baked bean
Buttered carrots and parsnips
Boiled Indian pudding.

I got all the ingredients together, wrapped it up in a nice pudding cloth, suspended in it in the pot, and now, we just wait…for next 8 to 9 hours.

I’ve never felt so “kitchen witchy” in my life.

Recommendations for a fourth dish for dinner

I’m making a “Townsends inspired”, colonial Sunday dinner for my family this week. I’ve settled on the three following dishes:

A Cheshire Pork and Apple Pie (Main)
Boston Baked Beans (Side)
Boiled Indian Pudding (Dessert)

But I feel as if something is missing here. Like I need a fourth dish.

My first inclination is a simple dish of buttered carrots and parsnips, but I am open to suggestions.

Thoughts?

Nick Cave/PJ Harvey’s Henry Lee is my current favorite song.

My other hobbies include writing, history, historical fashion, cooking (Townsends shout-out), and reenactment. I also enjoy dressmaking, embroidery, needlepoint, and afternoon tea. Not very Puritan, I know, but again, to live deliciously.

My chosen first and middle names are Hester and Thomasin, after the protagonists of two of my favorite stories. Though, if I had thought for one second I could get away, day to day, with a multiple word “virtue name” I would have totally gone that route, but realistically, Joyous-In-Mourning is quite a mouthful.

Good meeting. 🦇
