What is the best superhero TV show?

When it comes to best movies in the hero genre, for most people it's a toss up between your favorite Raimi Spiderman or The Dark Knight. Or The Incredible for those who feel more daring

But TV shows have some more room for interesting answers, I can see people going with Smallville or maybe the first couple of seasons of Arrow? Or the more recent stuff like Penguin and Wonderman (haven't seen the last one but hearing great things)

Daredevil season 1 & 3 (we don't talk about 2, except Punisher) are easily the best for me, probably my favorite Netflix show, Jessica Jones also comes close, a lot of people don't know how great her first season was, in my opinion it had the best villain performance since Heath Ledger

The MCU stuff haven't amazed me much, yes even the new Daredevil lol. She-hulk was the only one I liked, despite the weird unwarranted hate that show gets.

Shoutout to Watchmen which came really close to being the GOAT superhero TV show, by episode 6 I was prepared to hand it that title, as it reached some first season of True Detective/Westworld levels of quality intricate writing, it was sitting right at the highest echelons of great TV... and then the finale felt subpar and brought it back down to earth. Still worth watching tho.

Why did Danny pay 10k to battle T-Rex?

That type of money is enough to buy a sandwich for each of his kids. And why Rex of all people? Heard he ran off with the money as well

Question about Season 29, blood vs water 2

I'm really enjoying this season so far, please no spoilers since I just finished episode 5

And during the tribal to that episode, the buildup was one couple trying to make the decision of either aligning with the sketchy daughter and her mom, or the relatively honest daughter and her dad

And yet they vote out the honest daughter instead of the obviously untrustworthy person who has already betrayed one of them before.

I'm honestly baffled by this decision and we got zero confessionals explaining their reasoning in the next episode

Can someone tell me what I'm missing here? Or whether they were omitting details in the editing

I just found out that the only characters that made me feel things as a kid were voiced by the same actress

Being bilingual isn't impressive

Typically people from Countries where English is the first language (the majority here so this qualifies as unpopular) are fascinated by bilinguals, but that's just normal for most of the world

In the country I'm born in almost everyone speaks 3, an ethnic language, a national language for those ethnicities to socialize with. And English which is taught in schools.

I'm impressed by people who speak four+ languages because I think that officially qualifies you as polyglot.

I miss The Acclaimed

I feel like they were a big juicy lemon that Tony never got a good squeeze out of, sure they were tag team champs that one time, but is one time really enough for their caliber?

In my opinion at their peak they were the most over act in the company, they were legit getting attitude-era level crowd reaction, and during that time instead of showcasing them more often on Dynamite, they got relagated to Collision, like why

No offense to Collision and it was certainly a way to get more eyes on it, but you always keep your main draws on your main show, wrestling 101. Or just put them on both shows. I'm glad Tony learned that lesson now with Jey White

Now that Bowens seems done with the gimmick, Caster always on the brink of getting canceled, and Daddy Ass ain't getting any younger. I wish The Acclaimed got a longer reign or more tag title runs. Or at least appeared more often on Dynamite.

Why do so many cultures use dogs as a derogatory term?

It's a popular insult in all the African countries I've been to, and in English ones there's the term "bitch", but even if you simply said "you dog" to someone they'd get more offended than if you called them a cat or a duck.

Across numerous cultures and time periods, Pig, Snake and Dog are the holy trinity of using animals to diss people. But I feel like dog doesn't really belong there, snakes are venomous and slithery and definitely scream bad guy, and pigs despite being very smart are kinda gross and will eat anything, plus they make ugly noises and are a common symbol of greed. So I get why some people use pig to demean each other

But why dogs? Didn't they help us for thousands and thousands of years, they're literally called man's best friend. Calling someone a dog should mean they're loyal and trustworthy, not used as an insult.

The "STAAY" scream from Obsession

I found this to be one of the scariest parts of the film, She's laying so close to Bear as he's trying to slowly slide out from her grasp, you can feel the claustrophobia, it's like you're right there with him, and then as he's trying to escape she yells out this haunting scream, the way her eyes don't even open is so unnatural and disturbing

And then I found that people online thought it was a hilarious moment to ease the tension, which had me baffled. like their brain registered funny instead of fucking terrifying. In an interview the director was also surprised at how many people laughed at that moment

This scene is a perfect illustration of that Jordan Peel quote. "difference between comedy and horror is the music" both genres rely on rhythm, subversion and timing, they both use building up to a jumpecare/punchline to engage the same areas of the brain

And so the Stay scene walks right at the middle of those two concepts, sorta like clowns. Some found it hilarious while others like me thought it was deeply disturbing.

Blood Simple (1984)

This is was one of the most impressive directorial debuts I've ever seen, Coen Bros came out swinging with an awesome film that really sets the tone for the rest of their filmography.

Emmet Walsh was a scene stealer in this movie as the sleazy southern detective, he's obviously deranged but so charismatic at the same time, and you just don't mind having a convo with him, long as you don't hire him to kill anybody and have obvious stash of cash lying around

I've seen people call Dan Hidaya's character (the husband) un-convincing as a tough guy, and I feel like that was the point? He tries too hard to come off as this scary mafia-type but he's just a coward and loser who beats his wife and fails spectacularly at kidnapping her, even the detective can see through his empty threats at the beginning of the movie.

One thing that bothered me is the voicemail to Maurice the bartender, how did the husband make that call asking Maurice about the stolen money if he was already dead at that point?
