Are there replacement screens for a DMG that reflects the old tech of the LCD non back lit display?

I swear the old screens used to be much much darker when I was a kid. Seen some movies and shows from the 90s with the screens being so dark and crisp. I know the ink slowly fades but have they made nearly identical oem screens fresh and with the same old tech to keep it original as possible?

OG DS. The bottom screen (protector) have a replacement? Maybe entire replacement? It doesn’t work on some spots. The plastic protector feels wrinkled and not flush with screen
