Unpermitted Deck
Just found out my house's deck was unpermitted. Is this a problem, do I need to call the city? Will they fine me and/or make me remove it?
It was from the previous owner so I have none of the planning information on it.

My house is approx 2000 sq-ft worth approximately $400,000 and the cheapest quote I've gotten is $2800/year.
What's your house value, size, and how much do you pay annually?
Thank you.
I got my inspection report back and there were quite a few things found (broken window seals, porch wood rot, carpenter ants, HVAC condensate line installed improperly resulting in a safety issue, etc.)
What were the things that you asked for concessions for and how much did you ask for ?
Hello, I am buying a house for the first time and got the inspection report back and there were a lot of things found.
The inspector made it seem like these were all relatively normal and my realtor brushed me off when I said I might want to get concessions from the seller.
Are these items stuff you would expect in a normal inspection? Would you ask for concessions? And if so for which ones?
Thank you.
I am a first time home buyer and had an inspection completed (late 90s house in TX) and there were a lot of findings. I am not used to this process so I'm not sure where this would fall on the "excellent" to "run away with my good faith money" results.
My realtor said that this was a really normal inspection and I shouldn't ask for concessions (I got the house 2% under asking). However, it's a a realtor so they want me to buy the house.
There was also a seperate pest inspection that found Carpenter ant frass in one of the windowsills.
Only thing inspector seemed super worried about was the improperly piped condensate drip line that terminated at the plumbing vent stack.
Personally, the water damage and wood bulging in the master bathroom concerns me. As does all of the sprinkler issues and carpenter ants. However, I have never owned a home and don't know what is a big issue or not.
Thank you.
This shower that doesn't have a backing glass and the seller claims that because the shower is 'rainfall' and doesn't need one.
It seems odd but I thought I'd check, is there some truth to this?
Looking to buy a house in Frisco, which HOAs should I avoid and which ones aren't too bad? Thank you.
It seems like every lawyer wants to charge $5000 or more, do y'all know of any affordable ones that can draft an agreement and represent someone? My partner will also need someone to represent their interests.
I might be looking at getting a structural engineer assessment to get foundation work done as there's a few drywall cracks and an exterior crack that I have noticed growing and a window seal that is having issues. I assume it's better to act now than wait till it gets worse. We have new gutters but no soaker hose/foundation irrigation system yet.
Has anyone gotten foundation work done? How much did you spend? How extensive was your issue to start?
Thank you.
My wife and I are buying a house and she would really like it to be west of 75 but it seems like east of 75 has more houses in our price range. We've driven around it and west of 75 feels newer but other than that I can't really tell too much of a difference. How does East Allen compare to West Allen for homeowners?
My husband and I currently living in Plano are thinking of moving up to Frisco around the Shepards glen park area. How is it living in Frisco? Would you recommend it? Is traffic bad? Thank you!
This puzzle's rules say that the white ball can run up, down, along or at 45 degrees diagonally across the squares to solve the problem. I check the answer and the answer requires the ball to run 22.5 degrees diagonally.
My husband and I spent a good 15 minutes trying to solve this puzzle before giving up and checking the solution.
Was looking at biking all the way up to Russel Creek park but it looks like the trails don't connect on Google maps through Hedgcoxe. Wanted to see if y'all knew before making the trip, thanks!
I'll looking at buying a house that has recent replacements of the roof, sewer lines, plumbing, and HVAC. They have also conducted foundation repairs. Would you recommend the specialty inspections for those areas (roof, sewer, plumbing, HVAC, foundation) in this case? Along with the general inspection, we're planning on getting an electrical and pest/termite inspection at a minimum.
Essence cancelled their 16hr powder foundation which was my favorite and now I need to find another. What is your favorite?
There were two areas on the southbound section of i-635e that had police cars blocking all lanes with a large amount of cars behind at a full stop. There doesn't appear to be any fatality accidents based on the Dallas police maps. No signs of construction either. Any ideas?
I am newly married and am openly a joint account with my husband who works for a broker dealer. I have put that he is an associated person. For myself, do I also have to put that I am an associated person and attach the associate financial institution my husband works for?
The fidelity information says that "either you, your spouse, or an immediate family member is employed by or associated with a broker - dealer...." But then it asks if I'm an associated person, so I'm very confused. Thank you.
Looking for nearby venues that are fairly cheap and have an indoor and outdoor section. Ideally they would 1. Allow you to use your own caterer and 2. Have room for dancing. Thank you.
Hello, I have my first campaign and want to be considered for more. There was a link to connect my Instagram, does me making a review automatically post it to my Instagram? Do I have to post reviews on my Instagram to keep getting campaigns in your experience? I personally would never post about a product on my own Instagram and it's also private so I'm just a little confused. Thanks!
