If it safe to use a unprotected wurkkos or sofirn 18650 battery in a Fenix PD35R? I just got the light the other day and have a couple spare button top batteries but on their website it says you should use protected batteries. But when I look it up it says the light has built over discharge protection. I always like to have spares and don't want to spend $60 on 2 new Fenix battery's if I don't have to
This is my first evogrip and it's also my thickest sak and right off the bad using the blade is super comfortable, super happy with it so far although there is one weird thing that I haven't came across before, the awl is basically impossible to open up with the nailnick. I pried it open my jamming a aux cord in the front and prying it open just to make sure it wasn't stuck and it wasn't, just very very tight. Any way to lossen it up? Luckily I don't really like the awls on the backside cause I've had them close on me alot but still if there's any fix I'd love to hear it. Also anyone else carry an evogrip 18? I feel like I've never seen it posted here
The Gerber EAB is probably my most carried knife of all time, and I came across a post of someone that added jimping so I decided to do it and wow it's crazy how big of a difference it makes! I made them fairly deep with a 150 grit dimond coated rod, then cleaned it up with my Lansky blade medic (feels cleaner and better then it looks here). But I figured I'd share incase anyone here edc's an EAB and never thought to add jimping
I've had the silver one with the metal bracelet for a while but almost never wear it cause I don't like the colour of the case, but this black ones perfect! Pretty surprised by how supple the strap is on this, it actually feels better than the strap that came with my G-Shock 5610. And I always trim the strap and this one turned out really well
Hated the stock clip on the native 5 lw and was super happy to see that MXG had my all time favorite clip for it. Out of my 40 ish knives this MXG clip on my para 3 is my favorite
This is my first fully serrated knife and it might be the sharpest knife from factory I've ever got, glides through paper between each scallop. Just cut up some cardboard and WOW this thing just demolishes cardboard. Clip sucks but I've got an MXG clip in the way
My Fireflylight Z1 Artemis finally came in, this is my first astral aluminum model and I'm really happy I went with that. Just got it all set up, kind of blown away by the size for an 18650 light. I also love that when you set the aux colours the button colour matches. Got the 5009R 3500k (rosy), beamshot WB locked to 5000 but its not super accurate to real life idk how people get such good beamshots
Spirit Mx Clip with a electrician, love this setup, can't feel the electrician in my pocket at all so I keep that for it I'm going to be doing any prolonged cutting, or want to use the little sheepsfoot blade. And Mx clip if I really need one hand opening or any other tools
Preferably the second one but would still be interested in the first
I just discovered the electrician a few weeks ago and was kind of blown away because it's the only swiss army knife I can think of with more then a couple tools that I'll acctually use every single one. Blades came pretty dull so I reprofiled them, main blade I went with 18° and sheepsfoot I went with 20°. I haven't dailyed one in a while so I'm curious, do you guys just slam the blades shut or are you worried about the blade hitting the steel inside dulling them so you slow roll them back in? I have a tinker that the tip would always hit so the edge was always rolled, but this one the tip isn't hitting so that's great but I can't get a good look at the rest of the blade

But I broke the spring bar for the micro adjust and the shouldered spring bars I was using for the case wiggled around a bit so I decided to get new spring bars all the way around (case and 2 in the clasp), and got sholderless spring bars for the case and now it feels rock solid like the day I got it

I would think mabey 18° for the main edge and 20 for the sheepsfoot? What do you guys think? I also normally use a fixed angle sharpening system but I don't think it'll work with this so I'm assuming I'll have to use my spyderco sharpmaker. Do most of you guys freehand since the blades are so narrow?

Just got my first convoy, S2+ with a SFT-42R. To change the button cover do you have to remove the pill or whatever it's called? Or do you do it fully assembled?
Just got my RGT coarse canvas green micarta scales installed on my sage 5 salt and I'm really happy with how it turned out, deffenetly happy I got the coarse canvas. Fixed my main issue which was a bit of a hotspot near the compression lock. Last time installed micarta scales (on my para 3) the loctite must have touched the micarta as I was putting in the pivot and it spread all around the pivot in the scale (I know only use a tiny drop) and looked pretty bad so I don't loctite it this time, do you guys absolutely always use loctite or not every time? (I just use purple)
Super excited to try out the SFT-42R. Is it hard to change out the button? Think it would look cool with the MAO
