What is happening???

I have a Coros now and it's connected to Apple Health on my iphone.I did a strength-training workout and I rode my bike to various places today--probably no more than 8 miles total. I cannot understand how this calculation happened.

Looking for something similar in quality, layout, size, and feel to the Hemlock&Oak Undated Weekly but without the graph paper. Blank or dots are fine. For me, graph paper feels like clutter, visually, for this type of thing. Would love suggestions.

What is rest and recovery?

I'm a little concerned that this question will sound ridiculous but as someone who's constantly doing something, when I'm told to rest and recover, how does one do that? It seems like when people describe feeling fatigue and burnout from running and strength training, the advice is to rest and recover better. I know it involves trying to sleep and fuel better, maybe foam rolling and active recovery (stretching, etc.). I'm curious what people do to recover? And how do you gauge your rest and recovery needs at different points?

Has anyone volunteered for any Chicago Marathon shifts? I'm not running this year but I'd love to show up for the folks that are. If you've done any of the shifts, I'd love to hear about your experience. Which shift did you do and what was it like?

Cadence

I'm trying to work on my cadence and my Pace 3 cadence recording is lower than it should be. I'm using a metronome for running, so the watch is a off. Is the watch just the wrong tool to measure cadence? Do I need one of those pod things? I don't care about precision, just evidence of some change over time. I just want to see that I'm getting the hang of it and my cadence is getting a bit better. I just want to know that it can capture relative progress. What should I be paying attention to? Any other thoughts welcome.

In search of the unicorn tote pack--specific parameters--just right

I know there are tons of posts recommending different gym bags but this is a very specific, big, annoying ask, so I hope there's a tote pack nerd out there that can help.

I am looking for a gym bag that

-has backpack handles and possibly a chest strap that I can use to bike to the gym

-structure and lots of pockets with zippers

-stretchy side pockets for 2 large water bottles

-on the larger side--20L (a bit bigger is ok).

-reasonably light but also stretchy (neoprene is great)

-reasonably thick/wide/easily adjustable straps and some ergonomics (e.g. chest strap)

-some color other than black, sad beige, brown, or tactical assault green--I'm not going hunting or conducting a covert operation in the woods where I need camo

-waterproof or water-resistant (at least)

-reasonably sturdy with good closures, lots of pockets, some padding and straps wide enough to offer actual support

-If eco-friendly and made with recycled or repurposed material and maybe not made by children in a sweatshop, even better!

This Patagonia Terravia Tote Pack in Faded Magenta is *almost* perfect. The color, size, side pockets, and stretchiness are all great. The only issues are that it's nylon (so some durability concerns), doesn't have structure/padding, and doesn't have enough inside pockets.

This United by Blue is also almost perfect but not enough organization/structure inside and also nylon, so not that sturdy (even though they do have a lifetime warranty).

This Cotopaxi is also almost perfect--but, again, not enough structure or stretch.

This Timbuk2 is too structured, so won't stretch to accommodate awkwardly shaped things in my gym bag.

And this friend from Fjallraven has straps that don't adjust well, no water bottle pockets on the outside, and doesn't seem to actually have straps for wearing as a tote.

I find most Bellroy stuff ugly, I don't love the look of Osprey, and I am currently not shopping at REI, until they get their shit together and support their employees' unionization, so the REI brand is a no go.

That's what I mean by unicorn. Do your magic interwebs!

Question: People who spend about 1.5 hours per workout session (either lifting or running), approximately how much time do your workout sessions take, start-to-finish (including dressing, traveling to the workout location, stretching, getting home, showering, changing, eating, recovering, etc.)? I'm trying to do a better job of gauging time and have a fantasy/delusion that literally everyone does everything faster than me. Please confirm or dispel said fantasy's/delusion's connection to reality.
