Are these deals actually legit?

I got a year long membership for 20$ on Valentine’s Day because they kept sending us a bunch of coupons and I am about to shop there for the first time tmr. I downloaded the app and many of these deals are crazy. I mean 3$ off of already bulk items?? And from what I’ve seen the coupons don’t expire for like 2 months. On my Meijer app for most of the sales it’s like 70 cents off or you have to buy multiple items for a deal. And when I was last at Costco I don’t think we had any coupons, they never sent us any.

So are these deals serious? Like no bs, no catch? I just have to enter my number and the digital clipped coupons will be applied right? I really don’t have the money to walk in spending over a hundred dollars and none of the deals being applied. I haven’t heard much about bjs other than the coupons they send, so in your opinion is it one of the best places for deals and/or to coupon?

What type of fat is in a food if it’s not one of the 4 types?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this question but it’s bugging me. Sometimes on nutrition labels it will say a food has a certain number of total fat, but the total number doesn’t add up with the number of fat listed for saturated, trans, polysaturated, and monosaturated. I tried searching this up before but it says those are the only types of fats and I’m not really getting any other answer. So does anyone know where this fat is coming from?

What’s everything I should know about voting in the primaries?

I’m a first time voter and kind of lost on what will actually be on the ballot. I understand if we don’t know for sure ahead of time but I’m trying to be prepared for what/who I’m voting for because apparently I can’t just stand there researching stuff. I asked my mom and her answers aren’t very helpful, she doesn’t really remember, and I’m probably not asking the right questions because I have absolutely no idea what questions to ask. I just want the in general information on what’s on there and where I can find more specifics.

I know we’re voting for representatives and the governor, but that can’t be it right? There’s got to be other people vote on, and is it strictly just for our district or can I vote for representatives in other Michigan districts too? And I’m assuming there might be props are something, I want to be educated on what they are. Is there any way I can find out majority of what’s going to be on the ballot. I’ve tried searching online but I don’t know where to look, and again I’m probably not searching the right stuff so I’m not getting the right answers. If anyone can help with this information, or know any websites I can check out for this because I’m assuming there’s some site that has everything listed on candidates and whatever laws/bills/etc they wanna pass.

How do I get more flavor inside my crispy tofu?

I’m a tofu newbie and am trying to nail the crispy tofu recipe. I freeze the tofu before (because that’s what the internet said to do?), I cut the cubes smaller so there’s more surface area of flavor, I season the outside and put some cornstarch so it’s pretty crispy, and cook it in the air fryer or oven.

It tastes good but after I’m chewing for a bit I can’t get over the plain spongey taste of the inside. I think it just needs more flavor so I thought about marinating it but I usually press the tofu then put oil on after so the seasonings stick, so I can I even do that if it’s wet from the marinade? If that’s the answer please tell me how to do it and a umami flavored marinade I should use. Idk I need help. Also I know there’s lots of ways to make tofu but I really want to make this work too.

What’s triage?

I’m familiar with the word, it’s when they treat the most severe cases first. But they talk about triage as if it’s a place. I’ve never watched a medical show before, so what is it when they say “I’m going to triage”?

What can I bring if I don’t have a valid ID?

I don’t have any form of acceptable ID yet. Im going to apply for a state id which they’ll give me a temporary paper of it, but the physical ID won’t arrive until after my domestic flight. I guess I’m going to have to do the “TSA ConfirmID” thing (unless there’s something else I can do). What can I bring, other than the temporary paper, to help ensure I’ll be able to take the flight? Like a birth certificate? Social security card? Mail for proof of residency? Any help is appreciated thank you.

Where do they find all the indoor places to film?

By indoor I mean like apartments, houses, and work spaces, etc. Majority of them don't look like sets. Are they renting all these places out? Or do people volunteer their place to be filmed at? I always think about Kathy’s apartment in the “PC” episode, her apartment decor was spot on for her character but it seems inconvenient to buy all those items for a apartment that won’t ever be seen again after a 2min scene. So what are they doing to find 2-3 new real decorated indoor places to film at every single episode? I don’t live in nyc or have been involved with the filming of a procedural tv show so I’m unaware sorry if this is an obvious answer

How would we transition the US to socialism?

I’m just getting into Marxism. I’m wondering realistically in the modern day how could we get to socialism in a big first world country. I am aware about acts of resistance that get us to a revolution (I’ve researched this over the last year somehow not realizing it was related to socialism lol I’m here now though), but what happens after that to get us officially to socialism? This isn’t a bad faith question, I’m just trying to get the full picture of it with today’s society so I know what I should be doing or looking out for so I can see socialism within my lifetime.

Are there any books that specifically discuss this? Or do any of you have any ideas, like if you were high rank in government or were the leader of a huge popular socialist organization what you would do first, second, third, etc to help us achieve a socialist country. Like are we waiting on a socialist president to help move the buck?? Do we have a temporary stage of democratic socialism? How do we abolish private property? The US government is bought out by the biggest billionaires, what do we do about the government to actually take wheel in creating a leftist country when we finally have the power at peak revolution. I mostly know about the transition from socialism to communism, not capitalism to socialism I’m realizing so I want to learn.

Why is instagram restricting me from viewing my own following and follower list?

It’s been a while since I cleaned out my following by checking if they’re also following me and removing them if not, so I went through maybe a couple dozen accounts and instagram has restricted me for the second time in like a 24 hour period now. The first time I was able to go back to it in a few hours after I slept then I continued in the following afternoon when I got restricted again. Now it’s been longer and they still won’t give me access to seeing my following and followers.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this happen before and I’ve been doing this clean out every once in a while for years. Mind you I’ve probably been through over a hundred accounts in one sitting before, but now I can barely do 30?? I searched it up on google and the overview says the anti-bot algorithm might flag my activity and temporarily restrict my account to prevent spam. Is this true? Or is this a new glitch? Also I keep pressing the “let us know” button but it just disappears so what do I do about this, I don’t want my account banned over unfollowing people on my own list

Is there a sub for really random new insecurity labels people have made?

Online, especially TikTok, people in
Gen z will come up with new names for random insecurities like “leggings legs” or “cortisol face”, etc. I’m wondering if there’s a sub that posts examples criticizing this behavior or discusses it in some way

The chaotic precinct episode openings

I kinda miss the occasional chaotic precinct openings. Like in “Loophole”, “Confessions”, and “Lessons learned”. It was nice to see a snippet into other cases they were working so I could theorize about them. It’s unrealistic that all their mornings start with Olivia strolling in, coffee in hand, with morning greetings, quiet, and no people. Like we gotta be messy sometimes, bring it back

MMW: Apple iphones will immensely decrease in popularity and sales

Evidence: The new apple update is causing the popular iPhone 13/14s to now crash and a large number of people are announcing that it’s the last iPhone they will use, with agreement in the comments. Due to the prices increasing every year with little to no innovation in them, the planned obsolescence of yearly new phones has everything to do with greed, people becoming more anti-capitalist, and gaining awareness of the Congo that is being genocided to make the phone batteries. Apple has also got sued before for making the phones unusable after an apdate so it’s clear they just don’t care. There’s an influx of moving towards Chinese phones, Samsungs, and Nothing phones. There’s also been a rise in the movement of digital media, analog, “dumb tech”, and flip phones as people want to get rid of the phone addictions all together and trade it in for community, especially considering the concerning political climates around the world. The reign of apple as one of the top phones will fall.

Date: By around 2030

What’s the difference between communism and socialism

So I’ve been learned a lot about communism, then I realized my understanding of socialism was mostly democratic socialism which doesn’t count. Actual socialism sounds a lot like communism with abolishing private property, except its classless (which we would kind of get there through socialism), moneyless (but I’ve seen people say we may still have currency), and the state withers away but that doesn’t include government because that would be anarchy so that brings me back to socialism and communism differences, I’m confused idk?? Everything post capitalism is starting to mush together in my head the more I learn. Ik socialism is the process and communism is the goal, but what are the main differences as to what life would look like under both? What major things would have to happen for you to say we have officially reached socialism/communism?

Owning a single-person business out of your personal home?

If you started a clothing upcycle business where you are the only laborer, altering clothes you already have, using a sewing machine you already own, and working out of your personal home to produce the products, would that still exist in a socialist society? I know the communist goal is to get rid of the whole business model all together, but let’s say it’s early stage socialism (or any stage for that matter) and we still have businesses. Doesn’t this count as laborers owning the means of production therefore acceptable? I’m confused because I’ve heard different answers when it comes to business questions.

Also where does the line stop when it comes to working out of your one personal home? Does having you business there suddenly make it private property, meaning it would be shut down, or is it allowed because it’s just a single person business or something?? And if there are any certain factors that would change those answers to those questions what would it be?

I heard this question before so I wanted to know the answer as someone still learning socialism/communism. Also I sometimes confuse the two so sorry if a question don’t make sense in this sub

Possibly hot take: saying “I don’t see myself marrying a woman” as a bi woman is valid

This sentence will often get you side eyed in the sapphic community (online at least) especially by lesbians, and surprisedly many bi women too. This is just one of those discourses I can’t get behind. I’m not talking about women whose attraction clearly doesn’t go further than “women are pretty” or “be the third for me and my boyfriend”. I mean bi women with a preference for men or only like women sexually. A lot of peoples problem with this sentence is it’s “treating other women like objects and experiments as if they aren’t worth of loving”. Obviously this stems comes from a long of history of misogyny women face of their value being placed on their bodies, but to accuse someone of being misogynistic just because of their identity is crazy.

It’s In the definition of bisexuality that’s its romantic and/or sexual attraction for more than one gender. Sexuality can be fluid, especially when you’re throwing multiple genders in the mix it’s not just 50/50. When I was younger I only liked women sexually and men both. This eventually changed to sort of even out, but even though my attraction was different between genders I was/am still bi. That did not make me misogynistic, male centered, heteronormative, or straight with a kink which what they’re trying to call women like this. Not to mention because of the bi cycle this is common for us. When I view myself married it changes from a women to man all the time based on who I like more at the moment, that’s normal.

Wlw romance is beautiful, but there’s nothing wrong with two consenting women engaging in a casual sexual relationship and that’s great too. Why are we acting like sapphics are exempt from hookup culture. As long as you’re not being an asshole and like leading them on then it should be fine. Ik there are unfortunately some bi women that do this but we shouldn’t be generalizing.

And this hatred is always pointed towards bi women which is very hypocritical. Aromantic sapphics exist and we can support them while they continue sexual relations with people but when a bi woman does it, “she’s just using women”?? We can support people that don’t believe in marriage, but a bi woman not wanting to marry women at all, nope. And whenever a Bi woman says she has a bigger preference for or only dates women, lesbians will hype her up, and thats fine if it was in a joking “I hate men” kinda way but they are dead serious with this double standard. Not even joking I seen a video in the same breath it’s “you can’t be bi if you won’t marry a woman” but “yay” to the bi women in the comments that won’t marry a man. Since when do we determine a queer persons worth based on if they have a queer enough dating history.

I’m also wondering if any of you bi men experienced this from gay men or each other. I’ve never seen it so I wouldn’t be suprised if this is just an us problem.

It just pisses me off because bisexual identities are constantly being labeled as controversial for just existing. It’s one of the most common things I’ve heard from lesbians about bisexuals and I’m shocked that many bi women have also agreed that if you don’t consider marrying a woman then you’re not actually bi. I know the sentence itself is kind of off putting and makes you think of a girl that’s pretending to be bi for male attention (that’s how I heard it at first), but when I’ve seen bi women better explain their heteromantic attraction in response, they get called male centered or told they’re just not actually bi. Our community needs each other more than ever as our rights are regressing in parts of the world and we are nitpicking at bi women for being bi, it’s concerning. Idk am I wrong or missing something? This seems to be an unpopular opinion and I can’t think of a reason why except for biphobia.

Tynan’s storyline

So she was trying to get Olivia to move ranks to keep an eye on her, planted griffin in the squad as a spy, was on liv’s ass24/7 about bs, removed curry from the squad, suspended liv and threatened her all to keep the secret of her corrupt days and partner because she knew Olivia was really good at getting to the truth??

If that’s the case literally no one would have questioned anything in the first place if she didn’t do all this, she could have just flown under the radar as she’s been doing this whole time, with the advantage of being new and probably close to retirement age anyways. I was expecting something bigger, wasn’t it insinuated they planted the gun like over over half this season ago? Why drag it out to the finale. This storyline sucked, it’s lazy writing, and just reheated Elliot’s nachos

What should the foster/adoption system be replaced with if it were to be abolished?

I’ve heard many feminists say the foster system should be abolished and I’ve never really got that. I understand the system is very corrupt and fails so many children so I definitely understand it needs to change, but many feminists have said it shouldn’t exist all together.

I know there are a lot of things we can change to reduce the number of kids going into the system. I definitely support policies that can decrease the amount of unwanted pregnancies like complete abortion access, comprehensive sex ed in all schools, free contraceptives, advocating for vasectomies and men’s birth control. Also policies that support people that want to be parents, the wellbeing of the children, and the community they’ll grow in like living wages, affordable cost of living (healthcare, housing, food, daycare), better education system, longer paid maternal/paternal leave, environmental protections, stricter gun control laws, and actually locking up predators/abusers.

So everything outside of that, if we were to dismantle it, what about pregnant people that don’t want to have an abortion but also don’t want to keep the kid? And there’s 100,000+ kids sitting in foster care right now, what happens with them? If you agree with this, why is that? And what is the actual long term solution if we were to abolish the foster care system
