Hudson Cooper made a determined return to the Moto4 Championship at Snetterton after being forced to miss the previous round through injury.
The Sheffield rider suffered a heavy crash during the opening round at Oulton Park, sustaining a concussion that ruled him out of racing while he completed the mandatory 21 day recovery period. After a total of 47 days away from any motorbike riding competition he returned just a few weeks ago at Darley Moor for a club race but Snetterton marked an important milestone as Cooper returned to the British Superbike paddock looking to rebuild confidence and continue his development in the highly competitive Moto4 class.
Qualifying 13th on the grid, the NW Racing rider steadily worked his way back into the championship, using every session to regain confidence and familiarity with the Moto4 machine.
Race 1 saw Cooper bring home a solid 12th-place finish, banking valuable championship experience after his enforced break. In Race 2, he made an excellent start and quickly moved through the field to run as high as eighth during the opening laps. Despite slipping back in the closing stages, he crossed the line in 11th after another determined ride.
While the finishing positions only told part of the story, the pace shown throughout the weekend was hugely encouraging. Cooper recorded the sixth fastest lap time in the final race, demonstrating that his outright speed remains strong as he continues to regain confidence after the effects of his Oulton Park accident.
The weekend marked a positive step forward for the 14-year-old, who admitted it almost felt like his first Moto4 meeting of the season, having little recollection of the opening round following his concussion. With two races completed, confidence restored and competitive pace returning, Cooper and the NW Racing team leave Snetterton with plenty of optimism heading into the next round of the championship.

Snetterton RACE REPORT - R&G Moto4 British Cup
Snetterton was a really important weekend for me as it marked my return to the #Moto4 Championship after missing time through injury. Coming back into it, I knew it was always going to be tough. Not only was I trying to get back up to speed physically and mentally, but with everything that happened at Oulton, it honestly felt like this was my first proper race weekend in the series because I can’t remember anything from the opening round.
We started the weekend by qualifying 13th on the grid. It was around where I expected to be, but after time away and getting back into the rhythm of racing the Moto4 bike in a championship environment, it gave me something solid to work from heading into the races.
In Race 1, I finished 12th. It was a race where I was still finding my feet a little bit and building confidence back up lap by lap. It was valuable track time and an important step in getting myself back into the groove of the championship.
Race 2 was a lot more positive in terms of pace, race craft and set-up. I got a strong start and managed to work my way up to 8th in the opening few laps, which was a big confidence boost and showed that the speed was there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite hold onto that position all the way to the finish and crossed the line in 11th, but there were still plenty of positives to take away.
The biggest positive from the weekend was the pace in the final race. Although it took me a little while to get going, I ended up getting the 6th fastest lap-time in race 2, which is encouraging moving forward to Brands Hatch next weekend.
It shows that the pace is there, and now it’s about putting the full weekend together from the first session and converting that pace into stronger results.

Hudson Cooper enjoyed an outstanding weekend at Darley Moor, delivering a dominant performance across both the newly introduced 125cc Street Stock class and the Wilson Trophy, securing eight class victories and setting two outright lap records.
The meeting marked another significant milestone in Cooper's racing as he returns to racing after a 47 day period away due to his crash at Outlon Park at Round 1 of the Moto4 British Cup.
The 14-year-old Sheffield rider competed in the brand-new Street Stock category, designed to help young riders make the transition into motorcycle racing. Restricted to competitors born after 31 December 2005, the class welcomed Cooper alongside fellow 14-year-old Ollie Pearson from Derby.
From the opening race, Cooper demonstrated his pace and consistency.
During Round 3, Cooper claimed victory in both Street Stock races while finishing an impressive sixth and fourth overall against the larger Lightweight field. Pearson also showed strong progress throughout the weekend, finishing just 12 seconds behind in Race 1 before reducing that margin to only two seconds in Race 2, highlighting the rapid development of both young riders.
Round 4 saw Cooper continue his unbeaten run, securing another two class victories. Pearson again finished second in both races, just two seconds adrift in the first encounter before Cooper extended his advantage to 20 seconds in the second.
By the end of the weekend, Cooper had completed a clean sweep with eight Street Stock class victories while also setting a new PB & outright class lap record of 1:18.13

Cooper also impressed in the combined Darley Cup and Wilson Trophy races, taking on far more experienced machinery while consistently battling near the front of the overall field.
In the opening Wilson Trophy race, Cooper climbed from seventh overall on the opening lap to finish fourth overall, comfortably taking the class victory. The second race followed a similar pattern as he charged from fifth on lap one into third before eventually finishing another impressive fourth overall and claiming a second Wilson Trophy win.
Round 4 produced two more commanding class victories. Cooper finished fourth overall in both races while once again proving untouchable in the Wilson Trophy category, with nearest challenger Ant Porter unable to match his pace.
His performances throughout the weekend were rewarded with a new Wilson Trophy outright lap record.
Stars of the Future
While the weekend delivered plenty of competitive racing across every class, organisers highlighted the remarkable progress shown by both 14-year-olds, Hudson Cooper and Ollie Pearson.
As the newest competitors on the grid, both riders significantly improved their pace throughout the meeting, with Cooper's dominant results and Pearson's continual progress demonstrating exactly what the new Street Stock category was created to achieve.
For Cooper, it proved to be a near-perfect weekend, leaving Darley Moor with eight class victories, two outright lap records.
