Finding wild synchronicities with Hekate during a major life transition

Hey everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’ve recently been struck by a series of synchronicities that feel too specific to ignore, and I’m trying to understand my connection to Hekate better. I’m currently 23 and recently ended a defining 6 year long relationship. I am firmly at a "crossroads" in my life, learning to love myself and step into my own independence.
As I’ve been navigating this dark, transitional space, I started looking into Hekate’s archetype and realized how weirdly my life aligns with her imagery

I map out exactly to her traditional guard. I own exactly three black dogs. Knowing they represent her spectral hounds and are historically viewed as protectors/absorbers of negative energy during transitions feels incredibly heavy right now. They are my living anchors. I’ve always had a strange connection to wolves and dogs since I was little.

My ex actually physically mirrored traditional descriptions of her pale skin, black hair, and constantly wearing black. It feels like I was living alongside this energy externally for six years, and now that it's over, the archetype is switching on inside me.

I am a February 10th Aquarius and a Life Path 8. I’ve read that the 8 path is all about Self-Sovereignty vs. Codependency, which fits Hekate’s independent, sovereign nature perfectly.
I’m an artist (I write music, poetry, and stories), and my subconscious seems to be using all of this as raw creative fuel to heal. I don't necessarily practice formal rituals, but the psychological and spiritual resonance is undeniable right now.

I would love to hear from people who work with or study her archetype. What are your personal experiences with her energy? Why do you think she is showing up so loudly in my life right now, and what advice do you have for someone standing at this specific threshold?
Thanks in advance for sharing your insights.

A look into Mythryel dragon lore

In Mythryel, True Dragons weren’t giant magical reptiles they were the first beings born within the material world, acting as localized angels and embodiments of primordial power. Each dragon was completely unique, with its own name, personality, territory, cult, hoard, and political agenda. They never formed a united race or empire.

Ancient Dragons had four legs and four wings, stone-and-gem scales, crystalline hearts and flesh, metallic horns and claws, and either golden or silver blood. They were ageless, highly intelligent, could assume human forms, control elements and weather, and fly through space and the outer planes. Their hoards weren’t just treasure; they were physical records of their memories, treaties, victories, and grudges.
Their downfall began during the Great Gluttony, when many dragons became addicted to consuming worship, sacrifices, magic, and pieces of the world itself. The more they tried to possess creation, the more creation made them mortal. Across generations, their stone bodies became vulnerable flesh, their magic weakened, and they lost limbs and wings.

Although dragons could survive centuries without eating, some learned to consume worship, sacrifices, souls, magic, and even fragments of the Graven Laws. The Old Serpent taught them that they should not serve creation they should possess and consume it.
But the more of the mortal world they devoured, the more the mortal world claimed them.

Across generations, their crystalline hearts became ordinary organs, their stone scales softened into flesh, their divine blood turned red, and their elemental power weakened. They became vulnerable to age, disease, hunger, and injury.

Their bodies also physically regressed. True Dragons possessed the complete form: four legs and four wings. Wyverns lost two limbs, leaving them with two legs and two wings. Drakes retained four legs but lost their wings entirely. Wyrms lost both wings and every limb, becoming enormous serpentine creatures condemned to crawl upon their bellies.

True Dragons are now extinct in the mortal plane, though some may still exist among the stars or outer realms.

Collaborative worldbuilding

Hello I'm looking for a few creative writers and or worldbuilders who would be interested in helping me expand my universe of Mythryel, an original high-fantasy universe l've been developing as a hobby for a while now

Mythryel already has established nations, peoples, religions, gods, magical traditions, characters, factions, and story concepts. I'm not looking for someone to create the entire setting for me. I'm just looking for collaborators who enjoy exchanging ideas, connecting existing lore, challenging assumptions, and making fictional history feel ancient and believable.
The world is meant to feel as though it was built over the graves of older civilizations. Modern kingdoms inherit ruins, artifacts, curses, and conflicts whose original meanings have been forgotten. Different cultures preserve contradictory versions of the same wars and catastrophes, and there may never be one completely trustworthy account of the past.
The overall atmosphere combines mythic wonder, dark folklore, political tragedy, cosmic horror, mystery, and adventure

Some of my major inspirations include The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, Berserk, Elden Ring, The Legend of Zelda, The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Forgotten Realms, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy and of course real world history and mythology. Mythryel is not intended to copy any of them, but I love their senses of history, mystery, scale, tragedy, and cultural depth

I'll also share more information about Mythryel in DMs so you can decide whether the world and its creative direction are up your alley or not

Azrakel

(Work in progress)

Codename: Azrakel

Affiliation: Supernatural Hero / Cosmic Warden

Appearance: A terrifying figure with a golden skeletal mask, glowing eyes, black cloak, ancient armor, and mystical chains. He looks like death itself, but carries the presence of a protector.

Origin: Amon Karesh was once a human scholar and protector whose city, wife, and children were destroyed by an evil cult centuries ago. After dying in the catastrophe, his soul refused to pass on. Cosmic forces transformed him into Azrakel, a warden between life, death, Heaven, and Hell.

Personality: Calm, wise, tragic, compassionate, and deeply haunted. He rarely speaks more than needed. Though he looks monstrous, he is merciful to the innocent and believes judgment must be balanced with restraint.

Powers: Hellfire, soul vision, mystical chains, demon sealing, teleportation, occult sorcery, spirit detection, supernatural durability, and limited cosmic awareness. His true form, Absolute Judgment, turns him into a terrifying divine force capable of binding demons, judging souls, and warping reality.

Weaknesses: His grief and humanity. Demons often try to exploit the memory of his lost family. If he uses his true form too much, he risks becoming cold, emotionless judgment without mercy.

Arch-Enemy: Malzahreth, the Infernal Sovereign — a Satan/Trigon-like demon lord who believes all beings are corruptible. He wants to break Azrakel’s compassion and turn him into a perfect weapon of judgment.

Core Theme: Azrakel looks like death, but represents mercy. His greatest battle is not just against demons, but against becoming one.

Nyx / AMA

Character Name: Seraphina Salinas
Codename: Nyx
Affiliation: Hero
Base of Operations: Chicago, Illinois

Physical Description:
22 years old, 5’3”, with a small but athletic build. Seraphina is of Mexican and Romani descent. She has dark brown hair until she activates her powers it turns black. When her demonic power surfaces, her skin becomes shadow like, her eyes glow, and she develops crystalline horns and demonic traits.

Origin Story:
Seraphina was secretly taught magic by her grandmother, Vaughn, through ordinary activities such as cooking, sewing, songs, and household rituals. After being taken away by her controlling mother, Seraphina spent years separated from the only person who made her feel safe.
Following Vaughn’s death, Seraphina discovered her hidden grimoire and attempted a resurrection spell. Instead of restoring her grandmother, the ritual dragged Seraphina into Nocturne, a nightmarish territory within Limbo. There, she was exposed to dangerous shadow magic and eventually returned to Earth carrying demonic power she struggles to control.

Powers & Abilities:
Shadow Magic: Manipulates darkness to create weapons, restraints, shields, barriers, and other solid constructs.

The Void Blade: Summons a mystical sword connected to the stone embedded within her chest. It channels her shadow magic and can cut through magical barriers and dimensional boundaries.

Sorcery: Trained in spells, rituals, enchantments, wards, curses, and supernatural investigation.
Psionic Magic: Uses telekinesis, telepathy, mental communication, and psionic shields.

Portal Creation: Opens magical gateways for transportation and limited dimensional travel.
Supernatural Awareness: Can sense demons, spirits, curses, magical disturbances, and paranormal creatures.

Empathy: Senses the emotions of others and can calm or influence them to a limited degree.
Astral Projection: Separates her spirit from her physical body to explore distant or supernatural locations.

Limited Chronokinesis: Can briefly slow or manipulate time within a small area, though this power is extremely dangerous.

Demonic Transformation: Can enter a stronger form with enhanced strength, durability, flight, and magical output.

Tommy: Summons a loyal shadow hound from Nocturne who can track supernatural creatures and transform into a larger combat form.

Weaknesses & Limitations:
Using too much shadow magic can trigger Seraphina’s demonic transformation and weaken her control. Her strongest spells drain her physically and mentally, while complex constructs cannot be maintained indefinitely. Emotional distress can cause her magic to manifest unpredictably. The stone in her chest also creates a connection between Seraphina and the entity that marked her in Nocturne, allowing it to influence her dreams and powers.
Her empathy and desire to help others can also be exploited. She struggles to say no, avoids confrontation, and often pushes herself beyond her limits because she wants everyone to like her.

Personality & Motivation:
Despite her intimidating appearance and dark powers, Seraphina is colorful, affectionate, empathetic, and kindhearted. She dislikes unnecessary violence and prefers talking, containment, or de-escalation before fighting.
She is deeply loyal and wants to protect others from the supernatural forces that once preyed upon her. However, her fear of rejection has made her a people pleaser who apologizes too often and struggles to establish boundaries. Her long-term journey is learning that kindness does not require surrendering her identity or allowing others to mistreat her.

First Appearance Concept:
Seraphina’s first issue begins during her childhood with Vaughn, who secretly teaches her magic while hiding her abilities from the rest of their family. After Seraphina is taken away by her mother, she grows into a quiet and overly accommodating teenager who longs to return to the safety of her grandmother’s home.
Following Vaughn’s death, Seraphina discovers her grimoire and attempts a forbidden resurrection ritual. The issue ends with Seraphina falling into the nightmare realm of Nocturne, where a false image of Vaughn calls to her while an unknown creature warns her not to answer.

Mortar

Character Name: Cordell Dimes
Codename: Mortar
Affiliation: Villain → Anti-Hero
Base of Operations: Urban crime scene / later PROTEUS-supervised Renegades missions

Physical Description:
Cordell is in his early 20s, around 5’8”, with a husky, bulky powerlifter build and higher body fat. He has a thick chest, heavy arms, broad shoulders, strong legs, and a naturally intimidating frame. He has tattoos across his chest, shoulders, and forearms, usually dresses flashy with tight shirts, gold chains, watches, boots, and streetwear.

In his Mortar form, he grows to around 8 feet tall and becomes a massive living stone brute made of granite, basalt, and crystal. His eyes glow amber, his tattoos become glowing mineral-vein patterns, and his body becomes jagged, heavy, and bulldozer-like.

Origin Story:
Cordell Dimes was a blue-collar construction worker with big dreams, a big ego, and a loud mouth. During the demolition of an abandoned research facility, he accidentally breached a hidden containment chamber filled with experimental georeactive compounds. The explosion fused the minerals into his body, turning him into a living stone organism.

After being treated like government property instead of a victim, Cordell escaped. Angry, broke, and hunted, he fell into crime, working with gangs and robbing banks as the super-powered enforcer known as Mortar.

Powers & Abilities:

Living Stone Physiology:
Cordell’s body can transform into living stone, giving him extreme durability, superhuman strength, and resistance to most physical attacks.

Mass Increase:
He can absorb minerals from his surroundings to grow larger, heavier, and stronger.

Stone Weapon Formation:
He can reshape parts of his body into hammers, shields, blades, clubs, and armor-like plates.

Crystal Projectile Control:
He can break off chunks of stone or crystal from his body and launch them as controlled projectiles.

Limited Geokinesis:
With focus, he can manipulate nearby stone, concrete, and earth, though not on a massive scale.

Partial Transformation:
Cordell can transform only certain body parts, such as turning one arm into a stone hammer while staying mostly human.

Weaknesses & Limitations:
Cordell becomes slower the bigger and heavier he gets. He needs minerals to maintain his stone form and can become weakened if depleted. Extreme heat or cold can crack his body. Sonic attacks and electricity can disrupt his stone cohesion. He cannot swim because of his density and sinks instantly. In his full Mortar form, he becomes more aggressive and slightly less intelligent.

His biggest personal weaknesses are vanity, lust, gluttony, loneliness, and insecurity about his height. He is easy to provoke with insults and can be manipulated by money, food, women, or luxury.

Personality & Motivation:
Cordell is charismatic, crude, cocky, and impossible to shut up. He’s a trash-talking womanizer with a loud sense of humor, a huge ego, and a habit of turning every fight into a comedy routine. He acts like a lovable meathead, but he has real street smarts and knows how to read people.

Despite being a criminal, he has a code. He refuses to harm children, avoids killing unless absolutely necessary, and hates when criminals use innocent people as leverage. Deep down, Cordell wants money, respect, control over his condition, and someone who can see the man underneath the monster.

Eventually, PROTEUS reunites him with his childhood friends and cousin, giving him a second chance. This leads to him becoming an anti-hero and joining The Renegades.

First Appearance Concept:
Mortar first appears during his criminal era in a short heist story. He joins a crew of thugs to rob a bank, joking and trash-talking the whole time. The robbery goes sideways when the young hero Wild-Cat arrives.
