How do you handle personal emotion on the job, and have you ever lost your composure?

I’ve always wondered about the human side of working in death care. You spend so much time helping families through their worst days, but I imagine it’s impossible to stay completely detached all the time.

For those in the industry, do you ever find yourself getting tearful during a service or while preparing someone? How do you stay calm and supportive for the family when a case really gets to you, and are there certain situations that are just much harder to brush off?

Thanks for all the work you do and for sharing your stories.

I’m coming to the Island next week with two very energetic kids; one is 5, the other is 2. What fun things can I do with them?

We’ll be on the Dutch side but willing to go to the French.

So far, I’m thinking of taking them to Parotte Ville Bird Park and Loterie Farm.

Can you get doubles anywhere on the island?

For those who don’t know, it’s basically a Curried Chickpea sandwich in between fried flatbread.

Ya think the last words Bakari gon hear is “what’s up now, patna?!” as he’s packing a van to move to Atlanta? Speaking of Atlanta, why they had to use the SAME city Caine was going to?

While public opinion is often split on the legacy of Papa Doc, there seems to be a general consensus among Haitians that Aristide's presidency was disastrous. Why is that?

Among Haitians themselves, the perspective is different. Ask two people about Papa Doc, and you'll get totally opposing views; one calling him good, the other bad. But ask those same two people about Aristide, and they'll both tell you, “He was the devil.”

For all my Brooklyn niggas who went to JHS in the early 2000s, why was everybody so scared of Shell Bank?

Was it bc it was next to Sheepshead? I just remember kids in my 5th grade class saying Shell Bank was a bad school and nobody wanted to go there. While everybody was scared of Shell Bank, I was scared of Whitman 🤣

Can I still rep Brooklyn or I gotta rep Long Island now? 🤮

I went to P.S. 245, Roy H Mann, then Grady; but only until the beginning of 11th grade. 11th grade I moved to Long Island (November 2010). Been here ever since. My cousin says I’m not from Brooklyn but that don’t phase me, I will always rep Brooklyn. But what ya think?

Recommendation for a UTV Guided Tour?

Hello! Can I get some recommendations for a guided UTV tour with stops? My group is looking for a fun way to explore the island.

A few quick questions for anyone who has done one:

Which companies did you have the best experience with?

What is the typical group size? (We'd prefer a smaller, more personal group over a massive convoy if possible!)

Did the tour cover both sides (Dutch and French), or did it stick to just one?

How long was the tour, and what were the standout stops?

Thanks in advance!
