Actually managed to make the first ship i finally like after 60 hours on this game, its a Monitor/coastal defence ship, the size of a light cruiser but slower, more armored and specifically made for AA defence and rough seas handling, its just the freeboard that is a bit low but its not supposed to get into open seas storm
i tought the wagons were all together when i hook them up the first time and went straight to remove the handbrake before checking but they were three different groups so while was manovering in order to hook up 4 empty wagons in the back of the platform i forgot to set back the hand brake on the wagons that i needed to move, and when i nudge them a bit while moving the first of the three groups i didn't notice they've started moving towards the slope
when i came back to pick em up they were completly gone, i stopped the train and went searching by foot only to found them moving uncontrolled on the railroad, jumped on them and won a rollercoaster ride and a guaranteed crash barging trough the West City

i've started my first run on Gates of Europe a week ago, and imho the Conquest balance incredibly benefits from this mod idea.
yes of course the strategic depth would always give more than an abstract map of points but what i found is how conquest skirmishes greatly benefit from this
Having different battalion with limitations based on the type of battalions give you the need to balance more the research, you can still speedrun tanks, but when you have limitation on how many tanks, inf, and arty you can carry in each battalion you need to balance things out. also, being that you have multiple battalion across the front, pushing into service newer tanks take few turns, and that means that you'll have a gradual arrival of new units and this gives you a way more natural evolution of combat
As said before having battalion limitation of how many units you can carry have a great impact on the skirmishes, you'll have to build independent battalions that are more balanced and force you to use all the unit types the game has to offer and that means that when you play multi battalion battles you'll have two independent "armies" that can operate to coordinate against the AI also
we all know that the AI spams in vanilla, carrying way more units the player would be able to carry in battle, the good thing about this mod is that the AI carries in battle almost the exact content of his battalion, which means that sometimes you'll face very weak battalions or badly equipped battalions and instead fearing that three star battalion with all the tanks, this give battles way more importance as for example a decisive defence could shift the entire campaign like irl and when the AI finishes what was inside the battalion, its over, just wait for the points to reach the max
Overall being still developed the mod is giving the conquest mode what the developers of the game come up short with the current implementation, i hope something like this is in the works as loading and shutting down the game can be a bit weary but the game reaaally benefits from all the indirect of playing an actual strategic conquest
