People.. literally everywhere

SO many people peopling in the crowd. Like whats the deal with this? Is this a festival thing? My friends and I fucking hate people and had to move several times. Every night there would be groups of people peopling in super crowded spaces.

SoundCloud

Is there anyway to download Shambhala sets for off-grid listening? I’ve got SoundCloud GO but it doesn’t seem to be an option. Wasn’t sure if it’s an issue on my end (like needing GO+) or a licensing/restriction thing set by the artists.

Furries

Anyone have any pictures of the furries that were at shambs this year? I seen them here and there but don’t remember where I say them. I have a buddy who’s big into the furry scene (LOVES that shit!) and I think if he found out he could come to shambs as one he’d definitely be down to trying it out, shambs that is. He has major social anxiety but as soon as he puts that furnace of a suit on he’s right at home with himself.

An INFJ used me for her own emotional validation and I’m trying to understand

I’m a ENFP man, autistic, and have ADHD. I’ve been in this situationship with a INFJ woman for two years, who’s also ADHD. After two years I finally asked her if she would like to consider making things more official and consider a romantic connection. She didn’t go for it, at all, and became quite defensive about it. In fact, she said she never considered the two years to be romantic for her and considered things to just be a friendship and wanted things to stay status quo.

This hits hard obviously, especially with the RSD, because I offered her nothing but love, devotion, and admiration. Poetry, praise, support, etc. Probably my own fault for putting her on that pedestal. So if she never considered any of it to be love, and only some form of infatuation, was she just using me as a form of validation then? Especially if she let it carry on for two years? It’s interesting because prior to be diagnosed with AuDHD I masked as an INFJ for so long. But after being diagnosed, medicated, and able to unmask now, I test as an ENFP. My doctor said it’s incredibly common. So while I think I can intellectually understand, I really don’t get it.

Buddhism

I’ve been reading and study Advaita Vedanta for a couple years now and consider it to be what is. There is no Ashram in the city I live, but there are multiple Buddhist temples for lay followers. I recently started going to a Tibetan Buddhist Temple of the Gelugpa lineage. And while it’s nice to have a spiritual community to practice with, I find them, I guess a little hostile towards Vedanta? It’s odd because they are almost similar, but fundamental also not. I mention my belief in Brahman and they scoff it off as an ‘illusion of the mind’ or clinging to a permanent self. I find it a little distressing, honestly. Where does everyone find their spiritual community?

Why the lack of volunteers this year?

Was chatting with staff and they were saying things are slow starting because of the lack of volunteers this year compared to previous years. Anyone know what gives? I’ve thought of volunteering before, but is the vibe just not it anymore or something?

Science

Is there any scientific theory’s that closely resemble Advaita Vedanta? I’ve seen some videos from physicists claiming that consciousness is a fundamental property, or some theory’s such as quantum field theory. And while they seem very close, it doesn’t quite get the broader support from the scientific community. I’ve even heard arguments that science is the religion of materialism.

It’s frustrating. Some moments you fundamentally believe and even experience, but then the mind wants proof or try’s to explain it.

Starting over feels absolutely terrifying

Giving everything up to start over mid-life feels absolutely terrifying. These past few years have had me give up my entire family system, my job, my sense of purpose, and those I love dearly. I feel so exposed and vulnerable to the world. I know this feeling won’t last forever. I feel like a baby again taking his first few steps alone.

ADHD Medications

This will be the first festival where I’ll be on ADHD meds. Vyvanse and Guanfacine XR, specifically. I’d figure there would be plenty of people who take these or have taken these, considering. Is there anything you’ve had to do, or have had to adjust? I’m usually a lounge, chill, and nap kinda person at camp during the day, and become unhinged and party at night.

EDIT: It’s more of a scheduling question rather than a mixing question. I’m sober

What do you all do to pay the bills?

Recently diagnosed, first ADHD(C) and the ASD1, after burning out and getting diagnosed with PTSD after working as paramedic for 20 years. Definitely can’t return to EMS as everything feels a lot more ‘loud’ now and wearing a mask is outright exhausting. Started Vyvanse and guanfacine recently which helps a little and in other ways not. So I was wondering what you all do for a job that feels compatible.

What would be your dream job?

Let’s say you don’t need to worry about what it pays, and that you already have a steady stream of income from another source that you don‘t have to work for and keeps you financially steady. What would be your dream job that makes you feel like you can be your authentic self?

Waitlists and applications

Why does NAIT continue to accept applications when they already have a massive waitlist to a program?
