Last minute indoor party venues for Saturday??

We are currently scheduled to have a party outside on Saturday but the weather isn’t looking to be in our favor. Looking to move it inside. We don’t want to reschedule if at all possible, as we have hired a band & multiple folks have taken the day off to join us.

Looking for a place for 100 people for 4-6 hrs Saturday, 10/3. Venue budget of $800-1000. Somewhere in Greensboro/High Point area preferable.

ISO organization to build a handicap ramp and/or assist with costs.

My cousin has recently had a couple of stokes. She’s on the road to recovery but is currently not mobile and using a wheelchair. Lack of a handicap ramp at home makes it very challenging for her to leave for appointments and such.

Are there any organizations in and around Greensboro that coukd take on either building or assisting with costs of building a ramp?

This man has done nothing but bully people and spread lies and hate!

When will it end? This is his latest attack. He claims to have “receipts” but only shows pics of the property BEFORE the resident moved in. None of what it looked like during or after. When asked, he refuses to provide any supporting evidence.

He has ran for Randolph Co sheriff mutiple times (losing terribly each time), talks shit about single moms, disabled & others. Constantly stirs the pot. The man owns multiple businesses in Archdale & Trinity. If you are familiar with who he is, I encourage you to do business elsewhere.

Another T-Mobile fiber outage!!

It couldn’t have come at a worse time! Caused me major issues at work today. Tried using our hot spots but they are unreliable so I kept getting dropped from my work meeting.

Anyone else impacted?

Gotcha Towing…any other victims?

Little late posting, life’s been busy & I’ve been debating how to best handle.

On Friday night, 6/19, I parked in the MLK lot downtown. By the end of the night I was not in a state to drive, however, my husband drove me to the lot so that he could check on my car & know where to take me the next day to retrieve it. We get to the MLK lot and my car was nowhere to be found! Despite not being sober minded, I knew 100% EXACTLY where I parked. Checked messages, confirmed my parking was paid until 5:04am. According to my texts, I re-upped my payment before my parking expired.

My initial thought was someone stole my car. Husband calls the phone number listed on the sign in the parking lot and it turns out my fing car had been towed!!

Gotcha Towing picked up my car even though I had several hours of time left!! My husband talked to the manager, he said it would be $400 to get the car back. After some back and forth, the manager agreed to let the car go for $100 if we could show proof parking was paid because he still needed to “pay his driver”. Also worth noting, the guy said something must have gone wrong because he couldn’t find my car in the database (meaning they knew they
F’d up and I shouldn’t have been towed). We tell him we will be back around 11am the next day to pick the car up. The manager says to call or text him when we are on the way. The following morning we head that way and try to call while enroute. It rings once then goes to vm. Tried 2 more times, same thing. No luck. It was apparent our calls were being ignored! Send a text, no response. We get to the lot where my car is (which isn’t even their property). We are told by the lady working that it’s by appointment only (we were not informed of that). Understandably she says she can’t accept $100 unless she talks to the manager, who she also had been unable to get in touch with. Luckily we get him on the phone, he tells her to take the $100. They hang up. She says cash only. We didn’t have cash because no one told us cash only. At this point, I’m so over the entire situation. My husband had to be at work, I needed my car, & I was getting more pissed by the moment. She begrudgingly says she’ll take cashapp. We pay. I get my car.

I’ve been fuming since then for several reasons: 1) Gotcha Towing seems to be a predatory in nature. I’ve read their Google reviews. They also have an F rating with BBB. 2) I was fortunate enough to be able to pay to get my car back but what about those who can’t??? 3) I’m now very apprehensive about parking downtown because of fear I will be towed again without cause.

I know I’m not the only one who has fell victim to Gotcha Towing. Something needs to be done. Is anyone willing to share their story? I’ve considered taking out charges for theft of my car but I don’t how much leverage I have. If more people are willing to speak out though, maybe we can get the city to address their predatory towing practices.

Tips to stop ruminating on why people don’t want to be friends?

I am too old to care but the truth is when I meet new people and they don’t like me or we don’t click, I ruminate for days. Sometimes leading to small panic attacks.

I’ve always sought validation from others, mostly because I’m not sure how to be myself. Social anxiety and awkwardness only complicate it. I can be a
social butterfly with no inhibitions & be so free at times. Then as soon as my bubble feels threatened I crumble. I’m not always good at social cues. I also have a massive fear of becoming a narcissist. Over the last several years I’ve tried to put myself out there as far as meeting new people and such. I’m from a small town so everyone is connected somehow. I’ll go out, meet people, have fun, feel like I’ve found my people, we have great convo, sometimes we exchange contact info then suddenly it fades out. I can sense when it’s bc someone doesn’t like me. Multiple times I’ve been brushed off when I invite people to hang, my friend requests on social media are ignored. I’m not a perfect human but I have a good heart and good intentions. Idk what I’m doing wrong.

How do I stop letting this eat at me? It’s like OCD kicks in and all my brain wants to think about is that people don’t like me, why don’t they like me. Because it’s happened more than once, I’m always left feeling like it’s because of something I’m putting off. Maybe I don’t seem genuine, maybe I come across as trying to hard. Idk. On bad days it feels like rejection, which leads to me feeling like I’m not likable or not a good person.

Places to stay within 25-30 mins of Ryman or Grand Old Opry? Coming from NC

Tried searching the sub, apologies if I missed this being asked before.

Coming in with 3 teens/young adults during the week in late July. Looking to save little money by staying just outside of the city. Willing to drive 25-30 mins to hit up the main tourist sites.

We love star gazing and nature but also sometimes enjoy being in a more lively atmosphere. Bonus if the place has a kitchenette.

Fairly broad request I know but any suggestions on NON camping lodging? Cities or names of places are welcome

Am I being bratty or validated in being upset after returning from a work trip?

Little history: My husband and I have been together almost 7 years, married less than a year. I rarely travel for work and generally speaking neither of us are away from home often. We have completly opposite work schedules. To stay connected we try to leave each other short notes each night.

I recently came back from a 4 day work trip. The day I came in I knew he would be at work. I came home & there wasn’t a note or anything left to indicate he has missed me. His reason was that he cleaned the house & was focused on making sure it was clean when I got home so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. It was clean before I left, btw. Okay, sounds nice but to me, coming home to a clean house is a BASIC. Meaning, the people who live here should have cleaned up after themselves, etc.

He now says I’ve hurt his feelings and made him cry. I’ve told him many times it feels more like we’re roommates than married. I get that marriage goes through highs and lows. This is something I’ve been saying though. Hes a great man, big heart, has helped me tremendously in my healing journey. He just tends to be very low effort.

Now I’m feeling bad and bratty but also feeling like I’m not in the wrong.
