Hello! I’m In 8th grade and I currently play the trumpet. Now I really love the trumpet and have been having a good time with it but I have been thinking of doing marching band in high school, and I’m not sure if I wanna stick with trumpet for high school. I have realized that I love to play trumpet for concert band but not for marching. For marching specifically I think I wanna do snare drum. I watched the movie drumming and have been looking at videos of HBCUs and what not and drum line just looked really fun

So I was wondering if it’s too late to switch? Like should I have been doing percussion for the past four years? (My schools band program starts at grade four I live in Canada. And I switched between percussion and brass for those four years) ai feel like I have wasted these very important musical years when I may not even play the trumpet for marching band or I may be forced to because I don’t know the snare drum. Any advice? I know this post probably sounds stupid but it is a genuine worry of mine. Thank you for any advice!

Hello I’m 13 years old and my dads forcing me to go see the new odessey movie. I hate body horror and horror in general and I caught a glimpse of the Circe scene online and that kept me up, my dad won’t let me not see it as he says it’s familey bonding time but he has forced me to see many other uncomfortable movies like bogonia and the substance aswell and he keeps doing this. Please just tell me the cues on when to leave and for how long I’m really scared and stressed out and I just know I’ll be filled with anxiety this whole movie. I hate gore I hate body horror I hate all that stuff thank a lot like so so so much for anyone who helps. I’m leaving at 7:10 so all help is appreciated and have a better day then I’m about to have.

I’m 13 years and feel like I’m wasting all my teen years. This summer break lately my days have been filled with just watching tv, and scrolling my phone most of the time. I watched many of those “6 hard truths” videos and they have made me more worried and depressed about my life then anything, I tried to change my schedule around by getting up and making breakfast before anything and doing a little journaling. But I still feel like I should be doing things that are more productive. The saying “How you spend your days is how your gonna spend your life” (I’m not sure if that’s how that goes) has made me very anxious and worry so much that sometimes I can’t sleep. I really need some ways to change my life around, plead any help would be appreciated! And I will answer any questions that come about.

Hello Reddit, recently my father got a job down in Texas and is also moving there. We originally lived it Canada and my moms not moving any closer to him because there separated. I really have no idea what to do, I wanna stay in Canada because it’s all I have ever known, but also my mom and I don’t really do anything. Don’t get me wrong I really love my mom but I have bigger aspirations then sitting on the couch everyday watching tv and occasionally going out to eat and what not. The only sports I can do at her house are schools sports and even then she never comes to any of my games. All my extra circulars have been supported by my dad and I do A-LOT. My mom also wants me to stay becasue I have a support system or something and also because I’ll loose my relationship with jehovah, and that my dad will keep me from her. Now that’s the short explanation for my mom.

Now my dad on the other hand, is kinda unpredictable? Like one day I’ll have to be stepping on eggshells and some days were havi a good ol time. And if I do one little thing the whole day is ruined and his mood changes. Over the last few years I have been like an emotional regulator for my dad? Like after telling him repeatedly that (long story short) I don’t like him acting like that, he has turned it down a bit. He says he isn’t trying to pressure me to come with him but he does share why he wants me too, because it would be a new start and I’d be able to play more sports and have more opportunities, and the most important part that he likes to repeat. I would be able to see my mom a lot more with him then I would be able to see him with my mom if that makes sense. My mom sees my dad as a narcissist I haven’t really looked into it so I don’t know.

Now what I think? I think I wanna live with my dad for the opportunities but also my mom so that she ain’t sad and I don’t have to worry about her. She says I’ll forget about jehovah and so as keep saying I won’t but she says I will. All her friends keep saying that it’s mt choice and I’ll suffer the consequences. And I’ll have to say who I wanna live with as goes the court order.

Hello! I am very new to shot-put only starting about a week ago. In my school when you reach intermediate grades (7, 8) you get to do shot put (Im in seventh grade). We practiced with softballs and a shot put for about three days before the event. Our school coach taught the glide technique with a spin at the end, I won first place with a 6 metre throw and then a 7 meters throw and I had never touched a shot-put ever in my life other then this year. I just came back from regionals where I won again with a 7’37, 7’87, 8’05. I was beyond surprised. On my last throw I did a spin naturally because of my momentum. But anyway is this good or am I just using my raw power? I am 5’8 and 155 pounds. Also I leave a lot of space in my glide and I don’t know how to stop that without doing a big hop. Hello! Im getting the Chance to go to cedar point this weekend for the first time eve. Im really excited but extremely scared. I originally planned on just sitting down and watching my dad get on them while admiring the rollercoasters, but I have decided to get on just on, being steel vengeanc. To me it dose not look to bad, and fairly mild. I have been on behemoth which Is 230 feet. But even so I still think Steve’s drop will be extremely intense. I fine with the rest of the ride but the drop is what deters me from every rollercoaster (Which is why im never getting on TT2 unless it’s really that good.) so if there’s any tips on how to combat the feeling, or what rows to sit in to make the feeling like non-existent that would be very good. Edit:I don’t know why I said the drop looked mild, I meant it didn’t look as high or extreme as the other rollercoaster in the park like TT2 THATS all!

(13F) So, my dad told me that this year I’ll be able to play hockey. I have been asking for years now, and my dad has finally saved enough to get me into it! My only goal is to have lots of fun, and get good. I have family friends that played minor league as well, they went absolutely nuts when they found out I was gonna play. But anyway now for my question, what should I be focusing on? I’ll probably ask to be out in some sort of hockey summer camp, but for what? Skating, checking, moving the puck. So, I love behemoth it’s one of my favourite rollercoasters ever. But before it took me forever to get over the stomach dropping feeling, and find a way to handle it. Now I still feel it, and I kinda enjoy it, but when au sit in the back it’s still a lot for me. Now onto leviathan, I have always wanted to try it, it would be my first giga, and it looks incredibly fun and fast, especially when I look at it at night, it looks unreal. But I feel like the stomach ripping feeling would be too much for me, I used to feel like ao would die on behemoth. Is leviathan really any different? should I just suck it up and get I line?
