Last I heard Project Helix was never supposed to have a disc drive. However, Tom Warren put in an article when he was writing about this, that currently nothing has been decided for Helix. Things had been decided previously, however, Tom had more up to date information. They(Microsoft/Xbox) are now are seeing what might be possible about Helix in regards to discs.

The backlash has been palpable and Tom Warren is right here, because I read what he wrote and was like "huh, that isn't what I heard last time." So I went and tried to update my information, and it does seem like indeed, they are trying to figure out what they can do here before they fully commit to the death of physical media.

I was just looking for some speakers for my computer when a lady ran up to me and started shouting “praise the lord, you are the generation, I really wanted to catch you. God is good right? Praise the lord!”

So that was a really uncomfortable interaction.

I recently finished RE2 and am working on RE3 now. Spoilers obviously.

When you go to the same gun shop in RE3 from RE2, you can see the burning building from the Nemesis fight. I obviously didn’t think to look during my RE2 play through, but did they have the foresight to make that burning building visible in RE2?

Would be really cool if so.

I am moving out soon, however, for the time being, I want to get the COVID vaccine, however my mother made me look her straight in the eye and promise not to get the COVID vaccine.

Her reasoning was odd. It came down to "It's too new, it hasn't been tested enough yet, and people actually get sick from taking it, and I know someone who died after taking it, and your grandmother took it and now has health problems she didn't before, and your aunt who works in a hospital regrets having taken it."

She actually texted my aunt who told her that the vaccine isn't even recommended anymore, and it is especially dangerous for young men.

All of this smelled of half baked anti-vax conspiracy theory, so I am currently doing research on the topic(Any resources you have, feel free to send them my way), from what I have gathered so far, the vaccine being more risky for young males is technically true, if you remove all context out of it. Myocarditis risks are apparently elevated in young males, however when it rarely does happen, it is usually mild and goes away, and its 42x less likely to get myocarditis from the vaccine than it is from COVID itself.

I could give her the facts, but I feel like she'll just get defensive if I try to show her what actual professionals say.

This may be answered later in the game, to be fair, but my assumption was that Tyrant/Mr. X was chasing both Leon and Claire around the station, and then after a bit he ends up getting killed by Leon right before he and Claire meet up on the train.

However, William just murdered the shit out of Tyrant, so I am now very confused how he could be killed by both William and Leon.

I upgraded from a Steam Deck OLED to the Xbox Ally X after selling the Steam Deck.

Really glad I did. Some things to note, the screen is technically worse since it’s LCD, though 1080p is nicer, and gives me more room to work with for FSR without destroying picture quality.

Windows is perfectly fine with Xbox Mode, and as someone who plays on both PC and Xbox, it is nice getting my Steam library *and* my Play Anywhere and Game Pass libraries.

I was surprised by how lightweight it is, and combine it with the really nice ergonomics, I’m on board.

I haven’t missed the trackpads yet. Any situation where the trackpads could’ve been useful so far, like setting up EmuDeck, I’ve been able to use the touchscreen just fine, and Windows 11 has decent touch support.

Besides the better performance which is obvious, a couple points have stood out to me that really have taken this to the next level. Battery life and the speakers.

This has given me really great battery life, and thanks to the better performance as well, I’m playing Resident Evil 2 Remake on Game Pass, at 13w around 40 FPS with really good battery life.

The speakers are probably my favorite part of this though. I get thrown off when I’m playing, and I hear something in the game behind me, actually behind me from my perspective. Like it feels like wizardry that speakers in front of me are playing sounds that sound like they’re coming from behind lol.
The Steam Deck had decent speakers, but they’re noting compared to what the Ally does.

For context, a year ago this girl, that I was friends with had a massive freak out when I told her that I wasn't interested in dating her. To be clear, that was like the fourth time that I had told her that. One of the many, many reasons for this I that I am 24, and she is 18, she didn't seem to understand the issues with that age gap.
I had to work with her and she told all of our coworkers what happened and the entire process led to me having a panic attack. I ended up quitting that job, but I still lived right next to her and my family continued to work with her. I have tried to make it my policy to keep my distance because of what happened.

I am about to move, so is the rest of my family, but her family invited us over to spend time together and watch a movie before we leave. I expressed my discomfort with doing so, however they continued with the plans.

I ended up talking to my mother about this and told her I felt really uncomfortable, reiterated it again, how I do not want to be around her for these reasons. I proceeded to get guilt tripped and was told how she and my sister felt just as uncomfortable but they were going anyways, and I am letting her win by not wanting to go.

Now I am saying it felt I was being guilt tripped, but maybe she was right, so AITAH?

As a side note, Tales of the Empire is weird, as it's stories jump all over the place, one episode takes place during an episode of TCW, and one episode takes place after Return of the Jedi. So if you would like their stories grouped together instead of spread out in chronological order, watch TOTE 1x1-1x3 after Return of the Jedi. And watch TOTE 1x4-1x6 after Obi-Wan Kenobi. Andor and Rebels are going to be difficult as well, because they both start in the year 5BBY and both go until the year 0BBY so, lots of fun there.

Seems a little weird. Like both the Switch 2 and Xbox Ally X are handheld gaming devices, they play generally similar games(third party obviously.....unless you know. yo-ho). But the Ally X is also $1,000 which puts it in a completely different class of device.

The comparisons seem pointless, because I can tell you right now, the Ally X will perform better, and/or look better, and/or give you better battery life, depending on the game and your specific choice in the settings. But again, that's to be expected for a device $500 more expensive. This just makes the comparisons seem fruitless as they are not direct competition.

The Xbox Ally (non X) on the other hand? It has been consistently selling for $480-$580 since December, and the Switch 2 is being price hiked to $500, and has already kind of been $500 since for the better part of the year, you could only find bundles with Mario Kart or Pokemon. This makes the Switch 2 and the Ally in the exact same price category as each other.
I know some will argue that since the Xbox Ally is a PC handheld, they shouldn't have comparisons, I disagree. I can walk into my local Walmart right now and go to the gaming section, and I can choose to either go to the Nintendo section and purchase a Switch 2, or go to the Xbox section and purchase an Ally. This actually makes an argument for the Ally being more in competition with the Switch 2 than the Steam Deck.

It also doesn't really matter for this topic, I think it would be great for people who walk into Walmart and see both of these options, to know what each one will do for them, in power, in feature set, in ease of use, in battery life and so on. And yet, all anyone compares are the Switch 2 and Ally X.

So in the email it says the buyer has paid for the items and has given the shipping address and says the transfer of funds is on hold until I provide eBay with a tracking number(My plan is to ship it out tomorrow after work)

That said, on the eBay website, the order says that the buyer has not yet paid. I don't want to ship the items out unless the buyer has actually paid. Advice? I have everything I need to ship it out, and I'm supposed to give the shipping receipt to an @post.com email.

I currently own a Steam Deck OLED.

I would normally say it probably isn't worth it going from a Steam Deck OLED to a base Ally. But right now Steam Deck OLED's are being sold for over $700. Hypothetically, if I could sell my Steam Deck for that, I could that money and put it towards a white Xbox Ally which has been on sale since December it would seem.

If I did this I would be making a lateral move in terms of performance, have a $150-$200 left over, and be getting some pros and cons.

I know pretty everyone has said the Ally is more comfortable than the Steam Deck, some have said the D pad is better. But I would be sacrificing the trackpads and the extra two back buttons, but I don't really use those.

I would be sacrificing an OLED screen, but get a higher resolution screen with a higher refresh rate and VRR.

I would have better Xbox support with my Series X and comparable support with my PC. I would be making Play Anywhere titles and titles with anti-cheat accessible, and not sacrificing any of my Steam games.

I know inevitably people will ask why do I not go for the Ally X, it's simply I don't know if can spend the extra $300 ish right now for the Ally X. If I find a good deal on a used one or if I got more than expected on my Steam Deck in this scenario I might go for it, but like right now it would be more reasonable to go for the base Ally.

Anyways asking for some advice here, especially if you own the base model, do you like it? Do you recommend it? etc.

So there are rumors that Xbox is going to offer a customizable Game Pass sub in the near future. If that happens how would you like it to look?

I’m guessing it will probably start with Game Pass Essentials as the base and from there you can add stuff like day one games, EA, Ubisoft, Fortnite.

I’m also hoping they add an option to throw in WoW to your sub.

Starting two days ago

A meteor of some sort crash landed into a large window of a building in Manhattan.

A few hours after this meteorite, a large circular space craft appeared over New York City. According to eyewitnesses, on the scene appeared to be two aliens talking to Tony Stark, Bruce Banner(Who has been MIA for the past two years), and two people wearing robes. Following this conversation, a fight ensued between everyone. Details are spotty, but some are reporting that Spider-Man was also on the scene.
Following this event, one of the people in robes, Tony Stark, and Spider-Man have not been seen since. Some have reported that Tony Stark and Spider-Man got abducted on to the ship. Again, it is unknown if Spider-Man was actually there yet.

Roughly an hour following this event, a second large space craft appeared over Lake Ontario near River's End, New York. Any further details about this craft is currently unknown, as on the ground reporters have suggested the ship left roughly 8 hours later.

While the space craft was over Lake Ontario, a third space craft appeared over London. Reporting on this event is very scarce but some have suggested a fight between between unknown aliens, as well as, Wanda Maximoff, the Vision, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and Natasha Romanoff broke out. The space craft promptly left, and a quinjet reportedly fled the scene as well.

Yesterday:

Unsure if this is at all related to the alien crisis, however former boxer Carl Creel was admitted into the hospital about a week ago, and has unfortunately been murdered. Reports say it was an enhanced individual who carried out his murder. This was noteworthy enough to make some news sites, so I thought I should include it.

Later on in the day a neighborhood in Washington, D.C. reportedly had a gun fight break out between government officials and an enhanced individual. Reportedly a minor was being held in custody by this enhanced person. Eyewitnesses report the enhanced person levitated a couple of SUVs in the air, almost crushing the government agents. Eyewitnesses say the enhanced individual flew away from the scene and left the minor. The house being assaulted in question, appears to belong to that of former Brigadier General and head of the ATCU, Glen Talbot. Talbot has been MIA for the past six months or so, after being transferred out of the hospital following an attempted assassination by former SHIELD agent, Daisy Johnson.

Today:

Events are rapidly unfolding as I write this, the information I possess may be inaccurate and will inevitably have many holes.

Early this morning reports of multiple space craft landing outside of the African nation of Wakanda. Wakanda is a very isolationist nation, however due to their recent policies of outreach, reports from Wakanda are available, however very scarce. The information we do have, is that late last night, eastern time, a quinjet carrying the aformentioned former Avengers landed inside Wakanda's capitol. Reports suggest that Vision was injured, however this is from a single unverifiable report.

As we speak on the ground reporters have said that a large alien army has massed outside of the Wakandan border and the Avengers and Dora Milaje as well as other Wakandan troops have also massed an army. The last report we have received said they expect a battle to ensue momentarily.

While this is going on, another large space craft has crash landed into downtown Chicago. Local news reports that there is a highly dangerous enhanced individual near the wreckage. The latest report said that SHIELD has arrived on scene. SHIELD was believed to have collapsed a year ago.

Any further information will be added as we learn more.
