Brushes for cats

I have a new cat and she has medium length hair that is super thick. What’s a good comb or brush to use that would get down deep? I brush her regularly but noticed that it does get down deep enough so she ends up with tiny mats.

1 year post op. Still having problems.

I’m coming up on 1 year since my shoulder surgery. I had a synovectomy, bursectomy, debridement and subacromial decompression. Unfortunately, I’ve made almost no improvement. I think I’ve started to go backwards. I still fail the empty can test. I’m now also failing the drop arm test as well as a couple others. Anything that involves my elbow leaving my side whether it’s in front, to the side or above my head is difficult and painful. If I place my left hand on my right shoulder, I struggle to lift my elbow away from my body. If any resistance is added, it’s extremely painful. I’m frequently woken up at night due to pain when I roll over. I can’t raise my arm without pain. When I go to lower it, I get a sharp pain and my arm collapses. I can’t fold my arms in front of me without pain. Let’s also add pain when certain areas are pressed on the top of my shoulder. There’s so much more to it. Since the surgery, I’ve had lots of PT, 5 separate steroid injections and a PRP injection. I had a second MRI back in January and it still showed the original small supraspinatus footprint tear that was debrided. It also now showed extensive fraying at the MTJ and a blunted labrum. I go back to my doctor next week. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. It feels like my shoulder is not functionally right anymore. I’m a very active, athletic person and my job requires 2 working shoulders. This has stripped so many of the things that make me happy away from me. My doctor seems stumped. My physical therapist feels something is definitely wrong. None of us expected me to be in this situation. I just want a long term fix of whatever the issue is, not a bandaid that’s just going to fall off as soon as I start using my shoulder again.

On June 6, I’ll be taking on the Cystic Fibrosis Xtreme Hike as part of Team Dylan’s Domination.

I’m hiking for Dylan and for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis.

It’s a 26 mile, one day hike through the Berkshire Mountains. It’s going to be a serious challenge, but one I’m ready to take on for something that truly matters. This hike will be tough, but it’s nothing compared to what Dylan and others living with CF go through every single day.

I’ve committed to raising $3,000, and I can’t do it alone. I’m struggling to get donations. Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund critical research and care, and brings us one step closer to a cure.

If you’re able to donate, it would mean the world to me. Let’s come together and make a real impact. You can make a donation through the link below. Thank you.
