This may be one of the last 116610’s Clean ever made - I got QC photos one week before their raid, after which they ceased to exist. Attached as the final screenshots are those QC photos, proof of when I originally purchased this watch.

Oooooo lawd has it gotten even BETTER. Was an immediate banger from day 1, not a single whiff of alcohol, synthetic cheapness, or deviation from OG. Somehow it’s gotten even better.

100ML order has been placed, can’t wait for the fall and winter with this one.

Banadir 01

Banadir family, as mentioned, I of course love the Banadir focused material - but genuinely love to see all things fragrance posted / spoken about.

Received my Third Eye Discovery set yesterday, testing Flamango out today. Holy smokes, this BLOWS LVs Afternoon Swim out of the water.

I’ll draft up a detailed review soon, but what I’m immediately noticing with this versus LV Af Swim - the Third Eye Flamango has this beautiful added ZING that I’m beyond enjoying. The opening has much more strength and depth with the added pink grapefruit and passion fruit (on top of the orange, ginger, and mango). Deep in the background if you really search for it, the neroli and lemon bring out the tiniest “sun screen” vibe, reminding me of TF Neroli Portofino (one of my favorite 30 min scents) - but again, way hidden, and just adding to all the top notes.

I haven’t gotten deep into the dry down yet so I’ll be searching for those sandalwood, cedar, and sea salt notes, and how it all ties in.

Blended beautifully, this scent legit makes my mouth water and even though it’s not cheap, I think full bottle worthy.

Before diving in, I genuinely cannot stand oud. I had a 10ml decant of Christian Provenzano Guanabana and immediately washed it off / traded it away. So when I say this Borouj Lamasat Oud has me non stop smelling my arm, it means something lol.

Initial Spray

Absolutely no synthetic smell and nothing artificial. Right from the first spray you can tell the blend is done extremely well, at its price point I’m genuinely shocked. Maybe a tiny bit of alcohol if you immediately put your nose to the wet spot, but this is a 2 day old bottle from opening so it hasn’t had time to sit and continue blending.

From the initial spray it’s an immediate wood with a perfect level of spice. I couldn’t place the spice at first, I thought maybe cinnamon, cardamom, or pepper, it’s warm and spiced without being an old man at church spicy (we all know those zesty guys). What I assume I’m catching is the guaiac wood with the patchouli, giving it the ever slightly smoky, peppery spice.

The oud doesn’t actually hit until 5 minutes into the initial spray. Once it does, very western oud. Not barny or poopy, not overwhelming animalic. There’s the tiniest ever hint of animalic which Im loving because it’s just a whisper underneath that agarwood profile. Combined with the cedar, guaiac, and that warm spice, I genuinely cannot stop smelling it.

Hours 1 to 2’ish

Remains pretty constant. The oud starts to slightly fade around the 1 to 2 hour mark while the woods and spice hold the ground. I think the musk is there but it’s hiding and doing its job in the background. I assume it’s what’s adding a hint of smooth creamy texture? Feel free to chime in if you have Lamasat Oud and can provide further insight.

Around the 2 hour mark a random sweetness comes out to play (which I actually really enjoy, and maybe it’s just my skin?). Not gourmand sweet, not candy, just a gentle sweetness in the dry down stage. The spice and wood are still fully present but this sweetness wraps around them.

Full dry down, hour 3 and on

The scent remains strong without being obnoxious. 1 spray per arm and 2 on shirt, decent sillage, lingers in the room for a few minutes after spraying, projection is easily an arm’s length. From hour 3 and on you’re wrapped up in a nice bubble of woody spice with hints of that lingering sweetness. Not loud or quiet, just present and honestly phenomenal.

Hour 5 and on

Very skin close by this point, worthy of a re spray. Which honestly I don’t mind because each stage of this fragrance is equally enjoyable. The initial spray, the first hour, the full dry down, im loving each phase so much and genuinely enjoy how it changes, even though the note profile is about as simple as it gets.

Performance

Projection of 1 to maybe 2 arm lengths, dropping to skin close by hour 4 to 5. Sillage I think is decent, when first spraying it leaves the scent in the room for a few minutes, but I’m not sure once on skin and if I walk into a room, does the scent stay.

Overall, wow! Given this bottle is about $40 to $60 bucks.. I’m genuinely beyond impressed. I highly highly recommend this. Even though it’s not a direct clone of TF Oud Wood, I’ll be comparing my 5ML of OW against this Lamasat Oud, given they’re in the same family tree. Wish I had a decant of Thameen Carved Oud so I could compare all 3.

Just a quick shout out to the awesome people within the fragrance world.

In a different fragrance group chat, I was talking about Tom Ford Oud Wood and my want to test this Borouj Lamasat Oud (not a direct clone). A very, very, awesome human from that group sends me a 1 word message, “Tuesday”.

Yesterday I get a notification from my lobby, package delivered. As I open it, I see the gentleman surprised me with a brand new bottle of something I was merely discussing and mentioning I’d like to one day grab and test.

It’s crazy how we make friends along this journey and someone you’ve never met, can surprise you and make your day. Also yes, the gentleman from the other fragrance group has everyone’s address 😂.

So this is just a SOTD and appreciation post (to the one that sent this, I hope you see this!).

I’d like to open this Banadir group to obviously Banadir focused material but also other topics.
