Free Idea, longest telescopic manual pruner pole for trees

A manual pruner pole (would love it to be electric but with such length that's be impossible because the weight at the head) but the blades they have some Fiscar and Corona brand ones that I see pros use on youtube and they stay sharp/can be sharpened and makes cutting limbs up to about 10" not that hard, the problem though is no one seems to make anything over about 20 feet for what you need is a square tube type rod not round, because square isn't as floppy and cuts better. I've been using a 25ft Mr Long Arm telescopic painting pole and I drilled a hold in the end in order to through-bolt a regular pruner pole head that has a ~10" curved blade plus one of those smaller branch cutters that is like a spring loaded cigar cutter that you pull a string and it activates. The problem is when I'm using it all the way extended it's too floppy and takes forever, all the force is lost in the flop of the pole it's like I'm just tickling it. I'm not a huge guy but I know I can still handle a much much longer heavier pole that is square and won't flop and is heavier metal and transfers the energy to the blade better. These are extremely useful for chopping dead/unwanted branches safely from the ground in stead of climbing a tree without safety gear or experience etc or to pay a tree climber a monopolized price that they'd want just to remove some limbs/branches. They're also good for coconut harvesting some species the coconuts are like 40 ft up. With the addition of also a 8 foot A frame ladder and the 25' mr long arm I can get some high up branches done but again it takes forever and is a hassle.

Temu says they have a 50ft pole but seems to be a type and only links to a 27 ft which is also round and you want square doesn't flop, similar to marshalltown big bad monster pry bar is a pry bar for prying well, anything heavy or can use it for prying up small tree roots or deep fence posts that have concrete this is also a square tube so it doesn't bend and become soft and weak eventually it's basically just a piece of ~$50 steel that they charge $300 for.

There's definitely a market for this idk like 40' thick durable square telescopic pruner pole is marketed towards professionals or those with coconut palms, etc, is also good for pruning the sharp triangle things some palm species shed and can be dangerous to be under if it falls or falls on something it's like a giant spear.

I don't know how it could be patented though, and if you'd need to patent like every country in order for china to not just steal the idea and undercut the price greatly once they see there's a market for these, and I don't know how much millions or whatever it would cost to even mass produce these but I just want to see it made and would buy one, and I think it's a sure shot that there's a decent market for it especially with good marketing , giving a bunch out for free to popular landscape/coconut harvesting youtubers to give their honest review they would says 'this thing rocks, I can reach super high and isn't too heavy, the other square ones are way too short I'm not a huge guy but I can handle this no problem and it's a joy to use because it's square and heavy so it transfers the energy to the cutting end, and with such length I can safely stand way back from the area the where the branch will fall, highly recommend this.

Can also be very useful for painting high up unlike the 24 foot mr long arm is made specifically for painting but is very floppy when extended. Some sheer wall exterior type painting is over a sloped hard pavement like a driveway that not only is sloped is dangerous even with an extension ladder that you can adjust each leg to make it level but also on smooth pavement the bottom can kick out much easier than if it's dug into grass, and so instead of dangerously doing that I've painting entire higher section of exterior houses with just the mr long arm, also attaching a paint scraper to it for prep using an articulating paint brush holder, and used the same articulating holder to hold a putty knife to apply wood filler over woodpecker holes, but again, it's so floppy that it makes it a hassle and I can handle a much bigger pole.

Might as well also add that the same goes for these telescopic power washer wand poles, I have a 25 ft aluminum was like $400 and is good until you need it fully extended then it whips around too easily and becomes a hassle and are constantly trying to pin point the perfect posture and angle etc while also moving it where it wants to flop all around and you're standing there looking straight up for hours getting a stiff neck.

steve cohen cloned and then murdered the Mets roster and bet against them?

At the start of this season the Mets had the 3rd most-likely odds to win the world series. Now they have last place odds. The casino is just a front for the construction of a secret underground billionaire lair where cohen took the players down there, cloned them which doesn't retain the skill this roster had, and then murdered the originals and bet heavily against the Mets winning the world series?

This theory is the only explanation that seems to make sense.

steve cohen is working w chinese military testing brain wave altering tech?

The casino is just a front for the construction of a secret underground lair in which cohen has been paid trillions of dollars from militaries to test brain-altering radio frequencies on the Mets to determine if the technology could be effective on the battlefield? The tech was set to 'win' mode during tonight's 14 run victory, and most the season it's been set to 'lose' mode?

How is it possible that this roster can flunk this bad? Start of the season the Mets had the 3rd most likely odds to win the world series, now they have last place odds.

This theory is the only explanation that seems to make sense.

Recommend me some movies to watch (80s, cult classics, etc)

Basically, I'm not crazy about most new movies, I feel they're like disposable meant to try and turn a profit and then they're like forgotten about and never watched again, never ran for free on a non cable channel during like a saturday/sunday afternoon.

If I had to answer, even though these things change like 'what's your favorite food or song' I'd say Snatch is my favorite movie, I guess it has a lot of dark humor so I like dark humors, I also like comedy like Horrible Bosses style movies. I dislike the newer Fast and the Furious (what are they at like #23 now)? I never could watch more than like 5 mins of those and the same for any Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or Avatar despite how popular those are they're just not for me, same with these sorta corny remakes of Jurrasic park etc I love the original but the newer ones just don't do it for me.

I love the pre-internet, huge production (despite environmental impact) movies like Goonies, Terminator 2, Indiana jones, it's as if so much passion and work and creativity went into them because movies were such a huge part of entertainment and media before the internet and youtube etc, which, I do like youtube documentaries etc but also want to see more movies.

70s stuff is a little too vintage for me but I'm open to watching classics like the original animated Snow White etc. I like the Revenge of the Nerds type 80s movies etc but when I google like 'best movies from 80s/90s', I probably already saw most of them and not really into watching the same movies twice.

We have comcast or something and the Free movies on there and the HBO ones are usually like so bad, they get low ratings and I can see why but sometimes I really like the sorta non-main stream hidden gem type movies.

Most horror movies I just find to be annoying.

One of my favorite series if that helps is Curb your Enthusiasm, even though it's gotten a bit watered down and politically correct in the later seasons that style of sorta dark humor too I guess, Larry David cracks me up. I never really like the Sopranos but love Goodfellas, Casino, a Bronx Tale, but I didn't like The Irishman. The Departed I like. Training day I didn't like. Saving Private Ryan is a good movie. Love basically all the Batmans since 1989 but disliked the most recent The Batman.

Looking for ones I might find on Comcast/HBO for free or rent online cheap for a few bucks.
I guess I'll google best movies similar to ones I listed that I like but I don't want the same sorta genres and again, I probably saw a lot of them already anyway, but I guess I'll try that too, and just skim through trailers on youtube, but any suggestions for my tastes as mentioned are appreciated thanks.

Soto is the only one having a great season is like the reverse-deGrom affect

when deGrom was pitching like 1.25 era seasons and there were no hitters, no hope, it's like that now w soto. I was very optimistic with this roster at first seemed stacked but it's basically the season where everyone is slumping at the same time, it happens but when it's most the roster and they have great track records you end up with this season we have going here.

Would you sacrifice having Keith in the booth for him to Manage?

You wouldn't get to hear his commentary but what if in theory they give him a few years contract as manager? I believe nowadays manager is more of a vibes guy, that the analytics and front office make most the decisions then relay it down to the dugout. Having Keith as manager could be something very special though.

Nori sheet brand that doesn't make me want to dry heave?

I asked this before but the thread got derailed for some reason people were saying try better grade fish but I'm vegan and just make avocado cucumber rolls basically or with tofu etc.

I've bought from asian markets that have like 30 different brands and selections the highest priced per oz/pound brands and the cheaper ones too and it's all basically been worse than even the AYCE cheap $15 type chinese buffet's nori rolls (avocado cucumber). Some with any no frills local take out place their nori tastes cleaner, less fishy, less funky, less off-tasting.

I just tried j-basket korea organic nori sheets, and just smelling it out of the package made me want to dry heave lol, it doesn't help it's been 100 degrees out and I don't have the AC on in the house but still it shouldn't matter much. I tried slightly from-afar toasting it over a gas range to maybe help the flavor but it doesn't really help. I like a decent amount of wasabi and soy sauce overall helps mask the flavor but overall am not happy with what I've been buying. Can someone recommend brands that taste the cleanest? If I have to order online I will. I do love the small packets of roasted nori sheets even the plain and not masked with spice etc, I usually just get what's on sale sometimes sesame oil which I'm not really crazy about sesame oil in certain things but anyway I love these and can eat the whole 20 packs in one sitting I know it's like oiled and fried and salted masks the flavor but it's not like an acquired taste to me. I've tried flakes of Dulse or something before to make fake vegan fried fish etc adding it to vegan proteins but that one I really couldn't handle is way too much of an acquired taste for me as are the Kelp Knots sometimes served at AYCE hot pots I don't like but overall I love nori snacks and sushi rolls that don't taste weird. Thanks.

How did the Liberty Belle boat ride on one central rail?

Seeing how small the track area where a wheel would go would only be about a 5" deep wheel. So I'm a bit baffled how they didn't worry about such a tall, narrow boat (4-deck ~50ft tall, 26ft wide) would not pop out of the track if all the 450 people were on one side of the boat when loading/unloading or if everyone rushes to one side to see a gator or if something else going on, and/or if it's windy. Boat holds 450 people X if all are 200 lbs = 90,000 pounds. The boat weighed approx 100 tons = 200,000 pounds which doesn't seem like a lot if the passengers can be almost half of that.

Yes I know that the boat propelled itself with its own engine, the steering wheel was just a prop, it glided along the track, but I would think they would have 2 tracks to avoid it possibly tipping and popping out of the track. It doesn't hug the track like a roller coaster track as you can see the concrete pillars go all the way up to the bottom of the track. The one in Disneyland is a similar mono-rail but as shown next, has those square metal boxes along the track (I guess for footings/stability) would also prevent any way for the attachment to hug around the track.

I'm guessing as illustrated it had heavy weighted wheels on hinging heavy arms so that when the boat would rise or sink depending on the changing water level (after heavy rain etc) it would always stay in the track. Which is odd because things underwater become much 'lighter'.

Here's a photo of the rail from the boat while it was in operation. They might have temporarily de-tinted to water for inspection, repair or to find something. The water was kept tinted so it would look rustic and so you can't see the rail. You can sort of see there's no chain/cable like a ski lift which wouldn't really work anyway because it would grind itself down around turns etc and you'd also hear noise:

reddit links not allowed, but basically you can just see the track in a photo someone took.

Here's a good look at how the track is simply just a shallow open square shape, so how do you attach a giant boat to this while still allowing upward and side to side movement?

Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom Completely Drained - August 27th 2025 | Walt Disney World Florida

“There are divers that will install the guide wheels … and actually align her back onto the track,” Mutuc said. “We have dive-trained technicians.”

AI Overview

The Liberty Belle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom did not physically hook onto a rail in the traditional sense. Instead, the hull featured a heavy steel guide mechanism that straddled a submerged I-beam fixed to the riverbed. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The physical attachment process relied on a mix of engineering and manual labor:

The Guide System: Underneath the hull, the boat had a built-in guide wheel or shoe assembly that dropped down and CLAMPED OVER* the center I-beam track. This prevented the boat from drifting laterally, restricting it entirely to the path of the beam.

Connection and Disconnection: When the 100-ton boat was moved out of the river for major refurbishments, the water was drained and the boat was temporarily disconnected from the track to be placed on dollies or towed through backstage canals. When returning, the boat was floated into the refilled river. Commercial divers would then go into the murky, dyed water to manually guide the vessel's undercarriage back over the track and lock it into place. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Maybe as shown in my second illustration 'clamped over' means it also had metal plates on the sides of the wheels that overlapped the rail and that the hinged arms that presumable lower down and keep the wheel in the track were also on a side-to-side hinged system that would allow the boat to freely sway side to side without putting stress on the connection down on the rail which could break it. But then it's like why not just use a roller coaster type connection where the wheels hug underneath a round rail and omit friction and grinding etc that this could have?

Anyone have any better theories or actually know for sure how it connected?

One tweeter only works sometimes

I bought these Rockville apm8 speakers used off eBay a couple years ago and the first thing I did was basically blast them full volume shredding guitar through them and drum and bass etc w bass boost and treble all the way up etc basically pushing them to their limit and now realize I should have first gently tested them for defects in case the seller was selling them with undisclosed problem of that the left speaker's tweeter only works sometimes, in case I didn't blow the tweeter right away.

When putting a board over the main speaker on the bottom, I can't hear anything from the tweeter but then sometimes it'll start working (and when it's all maxed out volume bass etc playing hard music). I heard about 'clipping' means sometimes a tweeter is meant to not turn on in order to sort of save it from breaking but I don't think it's doing that because it's coming back on when it's all maxed out.

Someone suggested wiggle the wire I'll try that but doubt it'll fix. There's just a small entry on the back for where the wire connects from the main Right monitor which has the power button where it's plugged in and the volume knob and treble and bass adjustments. So I removed that and looked in with a flashlight it seems it's glued shut so if I were to repair it idk how cleanly it'd come apart and go back together.

I plan on selling these but if I can replace the tweeter for a price that justifies it then I'll probably do that. Used they go for about $200 on ebay free shipping which shipping would cost me like $40 and %10 ebay fees etc basically only nets about $150 used but that's if everything works. As-is I can probably net $120 so the $30 difference not sure if can get the right tweeter for that price or rip the thing open without destroying the box but I'm willing to fix these all up so they're good to go and not a problem for the next user. I have a solder kit and am decent. I have a like $500 analog and a cheaper digital multimeter which I have basically no clue how to use but if someone would tell me which dials to set it at to check for OHMs or something then maybe that's an option.

I emailed Rockville but doubt they'll have a solution, will probably say 'we don't suggest repairing these yourself, mail them in to out service center' or something which would probably cost as much as just buying a new set of speakers. thanks

Why does even the most expensive store bought sushi nori taste bad/off compared to even cheapest buffet sushi nori?

And I'm vegan and only doing usually tofu, avocado, cucumber rolls, and usually rice on the outside which tends to give less of an off/rotten sea taste vs nori on the outside rolls, so it's not the fish, and although I've tried things like dulse flakes and ended up throwing it in the garden as compost because it was such an acquired taste to me but I do really like the toasted seaweed snack packs I buy those all the time even the non flavored ones so it's like I'm totally anti seaweed but for some reason I go to asian markets that have a whole wall of sushi nori sheet options and the cheaper ones do often taste the worst but I've bought the higher end ones and they also taste bad compared to take-out nori or even the cheapest $15 buffets where I get vegetable rolls. Is there like a trick to it or like letting it air dry out of the package first or something I doubt it. I Even tried gently toasting it over a gas stove but that didn't make any difference.

Why is there seemingly no reason for the patches of Belt PArkway traffic??

from jersey and I very rarely drive on the belt parkway but I did east bound the other day and it seems the patches of traffic are for no reason. Like, it'll be open and everyone's going 50+ and then suddenly it comes to a crawl as if there's an exit ramp/lane backed or or even an accident. I'm like oh there must be an accident ahead or something, but then there's seemingly no reason, it just opens up again and everyone's back to speed. I see no exit ramp lanes backed up or seemingly more exit lanes in the congested areas vs the non congested areas or anything like that, no traffic lights or anything, it's like a phenomenon as if it sorta manifests itself that for whatever reason people apparently love to speed and drive downright recklessly around there but they can't keep that pace up forever and sorta slow down and it has a trickle-down affect on everyone else that it's like a chain reaction that eventually causes crawling stop type traffic for no reason is all I can think of.

a) And how the FUCK do they not have a camera pointed down the line b) why don't they just build the foul poles taller this happens all the time c) why does kimbrel gag his whole hand in his mouth only to then immediately dry it off on his pants and hat? It's disgusting to watch esp when he pitches that bad.
