Manufactured Home Living?
My family will be moving into a single wide trailer for a period of time onto a piece of land. We currently have a 22 month old and a 6 month old, and have purchased a 4 bedroom single wide trailer.
I know we are lucky to be moving into a small home that has 4 bedrooms, so that each child can have their own room, and an added bonus of having a playroom too. However, I’m wondering if it’s difficult having small common spaces and thin walls? So far, we’ve been living in a home with a similar floor plan but still bigger common spaces and their rooms are more spread apart. At least with the trailer we will have a yard, which is nonexistent in our current home, and I plan on making the most of that! I’m just worried about nap times and bedtimes. Our 6 month old still doesn’t sleep through the night, and our 22 month old goes through sleep regressions as well, so there’s a lot of wake ups all around. I’ve been trying to figure out the best plan for making sure they aren’t constantly waking each other up all night and all day long.
So, be honest, if you’ve ever been in or are currently in a similar situation with a small house/mobile home living, what did you do to help everyone’s sleep stay on track? How did you keep the toddler occupied or quiet during the babies extra nap times/when their schedules differentiate? Was it difficult keeping the house clean and organized while living in such a small space with littles, or easier? Did you or would you leave the house often with the kids just to keep your sanity? I’m just trying to figure out what to expect, and if I need to say good-bye to the little sleep I currently get?
