Storage…

Follow up on a previous post. These are the drawers I use here in Aus - called INABOX - around $8 each (so US5 ish). Can’t stack too high as the bottom drawers start bowing slightly.

The single drawer, deeper one I find more awkward to use, and the set up where they’re two side-by-side I use for larger animals, motorbikes, trans panels.

The best ones are the double, so they are shallower, so ideal for plates, bricks, and pretty much everything that’s not tiny. I pop in my own separators where needed.

Printed Wish List fix

So in the wild (stores, conventions) the current Bricklink preview of Wish Lists is wasteful and not effective. Do let me know if anyone uses anything else that works well.

Bricklink wishlist previews – UI fix suggestion.

Wish Lists

Problem

  1. long lists are hard to use in the wild

2 Paper waste and impracticle to use - just 8 minifigures (or elements) per A4 sheet.

The large image is the thing you’re looking for at conventions or in stores, then the quantity is next. No bell notification needed as you are looking to print out or PDF this page for shopping in the wild.

SOLUTION
20 to a page – big image previews and clear quantities.

Big image preview – this has to be large as it’s the most relevant visual aspect

Draw system

I have this block of 4 wide x 5 high drawers - about 26 w x 34 d x 13 high. Some single drawers, but most are doubles.

I sort by piece type, never colour. Found I need bigger drawers for 1x2, 2x2 and 2x4 bricks. The only other big drawer I have holds 6x8 plates, 2x8, 1x8 bricks and jumper plates, and other pieces I use to build habitats for my Finity Frame (1x2 shown).

Then I have these smaller cases for Minifig parts, gold, and other small pieces where I have enough reason to split them out.

The biggest pieces I have, inc tyres, are under this table as they’re not used often.

Feet cracking - what do you use?

Got these three options to help stop foot/leg cracking. Anyone use one or more of these - or anything else? I’m using it in my Finity Frame

Avengers collection so far…

32 of about 110-120 to collect so far…

Got a couple of doubles so I can show both variations - like Captain Marvel with the red head option & Justin Hammer with & w/out helmet.

Big Figs fit!

Had questions here and on Insta about Big Figs…

…so made this today.

Change the slats (you can make 64 different internal configurations) and make space to fit big, small, tall, wide and anything else!

Ant Man is the largest & had to sqop his top plate for a smooth one – that’s the largest vertical height for any double-space.

The magnetic cover still fits! That keeps of the dust and give UV protection.

Disclaimer! The Angry Birds eagle (beak) sticks out, as does Jabba’s belly. Everything else sits insde the 6-brick deep space.

Fire away with any questions or comments!

Cheers

I’ve built what I couldn’t find

So I’ve spent that last few years creating a minifigure display system that lets you start any size.

The wall displays out there are fixed. So you choose which Minifigs to show, like what fits, which I didn’t like. I wanted to decide how many to display.

I’ve made it so it can grow with your collection.

I’ve been collecting minifigs for almost 40 years (on and off) – starting with maxifigs and the LEGOLAND ones with fixed arms.

This fits the LEGO system (studs, bricks, elements, etc – so I can build dioramas, not just line up minifigs).

The same frame holds between 16 and 88 minifigures depending on how you configure the internal slats.

Here's what that looks like (prototype) & love to know what people think.

Happy to answer any questions

Last rodeo

Bucked then fucked.

Tried to set up a mini rodeo scene.

Normally breaking brittle bricks annoys me, but I’ll keep this one as my daughter had an actual horse for a year - same colour - but it had to be put down so he lives here.

Episode 4/5/6 sort / display

Love my Minifigs. Not sure if to show/display by numerical order, or another way like Rebel Alliance / Galactic Empire (and others), so I could have, say, all the Stormtroopers together…

Silly question…

Can’t see the grey helmet piece on BrickLink… what’s it under / where from? Thanks
