So, pet store lied to us a lot. I informed them I had a 30 gal breeder tank at home and they said it’d be okay. She’s been in there for a month now and… I’m not vibing with it. I feel like it’s too small. So I’ll be ordering her a dubia tank ( it’s what I use for my skink and I really like them ). But what size should I go with ? I was looking at the 60 gal or should I go bigger or is the 60 too big lol
I’m so tired of only doing pet grooms but I don’t have any dogs to practice on. I have a lot to learn as even 3 years in I still struggle with getting every little hair and the FACES I still suck at faces. But I’m in LOVE with the Asian fusion but a lot of parents just don’t want that they just want the one length all over and short round faces. I feel stuck 😩 I added some recent grooms to show just so yall can see what I mean when faces are my enemy
So for context I went to a highly rated shop in my area before finding my new artist, the stencil was perfect and I thought everything was going well until… I saw it at the end. He offered to fix it but at that point I knew I’d rather go to someone else to fix so I took the L. My artist and I were talking about fixing it but part of me was thinking about just covering it up. I was told she was not a juvie but no hatch date was given. They said to feed her pinkies but… she’s a big girl I feel like that doesn’t make sense ? They failed to inform us correctly on a lot of things but thankfully I was already prepared for her lol
My skinky girl never glass surfs until there’s thunder. At first I thought it was a coincidence but my husband and I noticed a pattern that after a storm is approaching she is surfing. And I really don’t know what to do for her cause she cannot be handled as that stresses her out more. But I was wondering if anybody else’s skinks have weird behaviors like this ? It only started after we moved to FL 2 years ago and we had her 2 years previously
I’ve been trying to get my prescription filled for 2 weeks and nobody has it in my county. I even asked them to check outside counties and nope there’s just none ?? Thankfully I keep old pens and can extract but how does something like this happen😩
I did my usual amount of lantus (26u) and I had my usual after dinner spike but all night I couldn’t get myself up. And I was overcorrecting for my lows because I just wanted to get some sleep. Mind you this is NOT normal for me. I tend to run very high and it’s difficult to get my blood sugar down. I tend to only be in range 30% of the time. I have to go to work where I’m on my feet all day and running around and now I’m terrified I’m just going to be low all day but I genuinely have no idea what is happening ? I’ve been diabetic for 20 something years and I’ve never seen my trend like this.

I wanna add another inch or 2 to her tank and I’m moving some things around but I have spring tails and isopods in there and I’m worried adding on top will mess with them coming to the top ? I took these photos at bedtime so not all her lights are on. But it’s a 5x2x2 pvc tank and I’m going to be rearranging it tomorrow and looking to add some more stuff to it ( especially moss cause idk where it all went lol ) but I was wondering if I’m able to put actual plants in it and what that would look like. It’s currently a bioactive and she’s an indo. ( added a photo for lizard tax ). I do regret not doing anything to the back of it but it’s too late now lol
Soooo Saturday will be the longest session I’ve ever done. Back in 2020 I did a 5-6hr session and didn’t really monitor my blood sugar. Should I stay a little higher ? I of course have been hydrating and eating properly and will continue to do so on Saturday.
So my husband went to epic the other day and I told him if they had Snapes wand I’d like to add it to my collection but not the interactive one. He brought home an interactive because he didn’t wanna come home empty handed but it’s plastic rather than resin like my other wands. I’m not keeping this one but does ollivanders still have the resin non interactive wands ?
I had to go nuclear on my rental company for them to give me a direct number to the hvac company they use. They were kind enough to squeeze me in today at 6. It’s been a struggle making sure my dogs don’t go into heatstroke.
I’ve been bit but this is the worst. I also want to start with I do not blame the dog, I believe although the bite was unprovoked he was overstimulated and it just happened.
Big boy, cane corso mix, I was helping the owner in the self wash area at my job and he was being so brave. I gave him treats, put a happy hoodie on him, all good, although he didn’t like the bath itself lol.
My front desk coworker was off today and brought her dog in for a bath… with her two kids alone. So they were running around screaming and just being bad. I could tell the dog was not at ease. My other coworker came to help me wrangle the kids while I still helped the customer.
Mom had turned to grab a towel and the dog was about to slip out of the tub loop and I went to slide the fastener and bam felt pain and heard a crack. No hold just a warning bite, but he’s a big boy. I excused myself, my groomer coworker stayed with the kids and I went in the back to clean the wound and inform my manger. ( at this point the pet parent knew nothing ).
My manager at some point had to confirm with the mom that the dog was vaccinated and that’s when she found out he got me. After writing out my report and figuring out if I needed to go to urgent care, he told me that mom was crying in the self wash, but she had bought treats. So I brought the treats into her to kind of talk to her. Helped her get the dog out so we could talk and she basically told me that she’s really been struggling with him and that she’s been thinking about rehoming him.
Long story short this dog was failed from the start and he was only one years old and she was trying her best. I gave her trainers info. I went to urgent care, but I’m stressed out about what’s gonna happen with the dog and we’re worried that I have a fracture of some sort from the bite, I won’t know until I get my x-rays tomorrow.
I have a lot of feelings. Anger at my coworker for not controlling her kids, I might be out of work for a while, and I’m worried about the dog and owner.
( for background I have helped this customer previously and the dog was fine but there wasn’t extreme stimulus in the bathing area at the time. I fully believe this would have been prevented if children weren’t in the picture )
I guess I’m just venting because what in the world am I suppose to do if I can’t work for a while. I’m sure I can use workers comp but my god I’ll be bored and just lost. I have a love hate relationship with this job but even having to reschedule my full books for tomorrow sucked and I was taken off for Sunday as a precaution. Just stressed and don’t really have anyone that understands I suppose.
This sounds terrible but for context not my cat. Long story short my neighbors moved in a few months back and have 2 outdoor cats. I noticed the older one ( assuming ) was skinny so I started leaving food out for her ( I haven’t seen bowls out for them days previously hence why I stepped in ). But it gets really really hot here and we’ve been looking into outdoor shelter for her but worried about it getting hot as they’re usually plastic houses. We crack the garage open for her when it’s raining incase they forget to bring her in but that’s the most I can do. I cannot bring them in as 1. they’re not my cats 2. I have an extremely prey driven dog. If I could bring them in, I’d knock on the door and ask for ownership but unfortunately I can’t. I also bought them a kitty fountain that stays on 24/7 because I worry they don’t get any water.
What do you guys do for puppies that just absolutely will not calm down ? Because it’s not safe to attempt to do any cutting but I just am lost on how to train them to be okay with it. I had one today that I ended up sending home because he was fully trying to gator roll for me just brushing him. But he was good for his first service a few weeks ago. He’s 4m-5m old and very much teething
I heard to not close your cards/account. I have 2 with capital one and one is a discover card. But now what do I do with the cards ? Do I not spend on them at all and keep them for emergencies ? Do I make small purchases that I can pay off immediately?
I sat at the barricade since doors re-opened to make sure I could see them ( I wanted to see the other bands there too ). Sat and waited for the set list and jumped up and BAM fucked up my foot had to go to med. But to the ladies that saw me crying because all I wanted was the set list and my foot was throbbing and gave me the list after catching it… thank you ❤️ also if yall didn’t know, because I didn’t, the speedway has a whole little hospital in it which was cool to see. Thankfully not broken just fractured 😅
