Which of these two couples would you want Peter and MJ to go on a double date with?

I chose Nightwing because the fans always say he's the DC equivalent to Spiderman Now I wanna see who fans think is the MJ of Nightwing. 👀

Personally, I think MJ and Starfire would get along SO well. They’re both canonically models, love fashion, have big outgoing personalities and would probably hype each other up constantly. (I hope the Barbara Fans who lurk around this sub won't attack me for this)

This is a perfect example of Dickbabs shippers misusing the term "misogyny"

Read the comment they’re calling “misogynistic” and you’ll see there's actually nothing wrong with it.. The person was just saying why they don’t like Barbara as a character.

‎Not because she’s a woman, but because she’s written poorly and has been reduced to a love interest ‎now but the usual "butthurt" Dickbabs shippers took it as a personal offense, called it a war on women, and went to harass the user. ‎

This happens everywhere you go.

Criticize Barbara = “you hate women.”

‎The word misogyny has lost all meaning to Dickbabs shippers. They just use it as a “I’m right, you’re wrong” card.

‎Real misogyny is saying “women don’t deserve an education. Only men do”

Real misogyny is saying “women belong in the kitchen.”

Real misogyny is saying “women are the reason men get tempted.”

Real misogyny is what women in Afghanistan are facing today. Many have been stripped of their rights as a woman, including access to education, getting a job, the freedom to move around without a male guardian, and the ability to choose how they dress. . It's important not to trivialise that reality by using the term "misogyny" for every disagreement or criticism, especially when it doesn't involve discrimination against women as a group.

‎Disliking one fictional character is not misogyny.

A comment directed at Barbara alone is not misogyny.

Hating Barbara is not a war against All women on Earth.

Even the cast of My Adventures with Superman prefer Dickkory.

They were given a list of superhero couples (dickkory wasn't included cuz the interviewer probably doesn't like them) and asked what they thought of each one. One of the cast Jack Quiad (Superman's voice actor) had to mention dickkory himself and said he'd rather have Dick with Starfire than Barbara.

From chuck dixon.

It was a fan who politely messaged him and asked him about Starfire years ago.

And the other slide is from an interview

The Anti-Dickkory agenda in the comics is clearly a mandate from Editorial.

This is exactly why I don't like Dick and Barbara together. Their relationship, when you compare the publication dates, is built on retcons, character assassination, cheating and slandering Starfire to prop it up.

Dickbabs shippers on TikTok are now creating fake Dickkory fan accounts that post ableist comments about disabled people in an attempt to make the Dickkory fanbase look bad.

Please be careful. They're getting out of hand. Dickbabs shippers are so desperate to harass and silence anyone who doesn't like Barbara or the Dickbabs that they're now creating fake screenshots of ableist comments and spreading them around, claiming DickKory shippers posted them. In reality, they're creating fake Dickkory accounts just to manufacture evidence and smear the fandom and they might do the same in other social media apps.

Doxxing, user stalking, harassment, bullying, death threats and personal insults are rampant in the Dickbabs community. They do it simply because they're mad not everyone likes their favorite ship.

For Timsteph fans, how do you cope?

I really do feel bad because I know how it feels. My favorite ship Dickkory also got erased in the comics in favor of Dickbabs.

I noticed that in the current comics, for more than 3 years now, Tim and Steph rarely talked to each other and it seems like DC has made Bernard Tim's main love interest now. (In and out of comics) I'm honestly shocked by how quickly they've included them across different media, like Titans, Gotham Knights and in the Webtoons. I have a feeling they'll also end up together in Young Justice Season 5 because I heard the director said he has plans for Tim to have a bf. So there's probably going to be another time skip where they'll say Tim flirted with Steph before he finally ends up with Bernard. I also wouldn't be surprised if they become a couple in the DCU. I think DC is really committed to Bernard.

So my question is, how do you deal with it? Do you still hope Tim and Steph will get back together someday?

DickBabs is an Anti-Climactic, Step Backward, Regressive relationship.

Dick's story was about moving beyond Gotham and Batman's world. He quit being Robin because he didn't want to be seen as just a sidekick or live under Batman's shadow. He left Gotham, joined the Titans and became the capable leader of a team full of superpowered heroes despite not having powers himself. Instead of fighting ordinary criminals, he became the Bruce Lee of DC who fought aliens, gods, monsters, demons, psychics and world ending threats.

Then he became Nightwing which was supposed to represent him building his own separate identity that is not defined by Gotham and the Bats. His relationship with Starfire fit that perfectly. She didn't come from Batman's world, she was an alien princess from another planet. Their relationship showed how much bigger Dick's life had become, how his life had expanded far beyond Gotham, reaching the wider DC Universe and even crossing the galaxies. It felt like the next chapter of his life.

Then modern DC turns around and has him go back to Gotham, return to his Gotham childhood crush, leave the Titans behind, portray the Titans as something that holds him back and spend most of his time punching regular street criminals again. He exchanges fantastical and cosmic adventures for ordinary common criminals. His world got smaller instead of bigger. Even Bludhaven was created by the Bat-editorial to be a sister city of Gotham.

Even his role has changed. Dick used to be the leader calling the shots. Instead of being portrayed as an independent, resourceful hero anyone can depend on, he's now shown taking orders from Oracle through an earpiece while she monitors his every move from behind a computer. The same character who once operated confidently on his own is now frequently written as someone who's constantly directed, supervised, and even interrupted during private conversations. He suddenly can't use a computer or investigate his own enemies. He just waits for Oracle to feed him information and he even lets her steal his job and order his own team around. On top of that, he's often written holding himself back so the other Batfamily members can maintain their own unique roles. Tim and Barbara should be the only tech savvy ones, Jason should be the only angry one, so Dick has no choice but to stay as either one happy go lucky himbo or a miserable, dependent idiot who has no clue how to fix his own problems. He is no longer an actual person who can decide for himself, more like someone who's being remotely managed.

And if not for Barbara, he never would have been written as a serial cheater. Dickbabs did lasting damage to the public's perception of his character.

You're about to be born into a superhero universe. You get to decide who your superhero parents are going to be. These are the only six options.

Gambit and Rogue – A witty gambler with powerful cards paired with the one who can absord any powers.

Nightwing and Starfire – The greatest acrobat and detective who is the son of Batman and a Superpowered Royal princess from another planet.

Cyclops and Jean Grey – mutant couple. Powerful optic blaster paired with a Powerful Pyshic.

Spider-Man and Black Cat – a couple with the ability of Spider and Cat. Wall crawling, dangerous claws, enhance sense etc.

Invincible and Atom Eve – a member of the deadliest alien race bred for conquest. paired with a woman who can create any object/thing

Beast Boy and Raven – A shapeshifter who can transform into any animals and the daughter of the devil.
