At first, Ned accepted the position as Hand not because he wanted glory or power, but because he wanted to find out the truth about Jon Arryn's death and do what he believed was right. He genuinely tried to bring justice to the people of Westeros. A good example is sending Beric Dondarrion into the Riverlands to bring the Mountain to justice.

Ned knew there was a game being played for the throne and that the people in power were corrupt, but he kept investigating anyway. Eventually, he discovered Cersei's involvement, along with Grand Maester Pycelle, and reached basically the same conclusion Jon Arryn and Stannis had.

But instead of doing what Stannis did and staying quiet until the right moment, Ned went straight to Cersei. Looking back, I know that can seem unbelievably stupid, but Ned was looking at it from a different perspective.

He knew what Robert would probably do to Cersei and her children if he found out. Just look at what happened to Rhaegar's children. Ned felt sorry for them, so he gave Cersei a chance to take her children and leave before Robert found out.

And during his trial, Ned actually intended to tell the truth. It was Cersei threatening Sansa that finally pushed him into confessing to treason.

Ned wasn't good at playing the game, but I don't think he was stupid. He was trying to do the right thing in a world where doing the right thing could get you killed

This guy is such a good actor, we usually end up loving the heroes, the good guys, or the characters who always seem to have everything figured out, but Michael was something else.

He came to the island just trying to protect his son, and the dude went through so much. Even the way he talked and reacted to things made his scenes interesting to watch......

Then his whole character changed

he went from caring about everyone to basically putting his son above everything, even if it meant betraying people he had grown close to,and honestly, playing a character like Michael and making you hate him sometimes, feel bad for him other times, and still keep watching him... that's damn good acting

If you've watched him in From or Oz, you already know what I'm talking about

I think It was letting others know his next move.

This is my grandmother's recipe for mustard pickles. It's probably 75 years old by now. I haven't had them in over 30 years, but we found it in her things some time after she passed away. They were one of my favorite things from my childhood. She always made them whole but I only had small Mason jars so I sliced them.

Edit: I did not use the full half cup of salt. I used less than a quarter because I was afraid they'd be too salty, although I didn't remember them being terribly salty growing up. Mine came out just fine with less salt. after
