What speed do you usually use on your walking pad while typing?

I recently added a KingSmith C2 to my setup to get more steps in while WFH. I noticed that when I walk at 1.5 mph, my hands shake a bit and it gets harder to type. If I go down to 1 mph, it feels too slow.
How long did it take you to get used to walking while working and increase your speed?

Eink or just bite the bullet for an iPad?

Looking for something mainly for reading and taking notes. I spend about 3 hours commuting on the subway every day. Ainote air 2 is on my list, but after seeing the price of iPad, I’m not sure now. It’s only about $129 more (add a pencil), and the specs seem much better for the price. So, for those who chose eink instead of iPad, what made you feel it was worth the money?

Got so many compliments on this outfit today!

Had plans to celebrate after work, so I wore something a little more dressed up. Still comfortable enough for the office.

Why do so many people walk on treadmills at the gym?

Beginner here, and I have a question.
I started going to the gym yesterday, and I noticed many people were walking on the treadmills instead of running. Is there a reason why walking is so popular?
I originally planned to do some cardio first, then try some strength machines. But after switching between a few machines, I noticed the treadmill area was still packed. Would it make more sense to get cardio at home on my walkingpad, then go downstairs to the gym for strength training?

My old chair is killing my back. Need recommendations.

Hi, I recently quit my job and started writing from home. The chair I’m using was left by my ex roommate, and I really need a good ergonomic chair. My budget is under $500 though (freelancer, you get it).
I found the Newtral Standing Mate, and it seems to fit my budget. Has anyone used their chairs for long typing sessions? Does the lumbar support help with back pain?
Any other recommendations under $500 are welcome too. Thanks!

How do I politely tell her this isn't my style without sounding ungrateful?

Sorry if this isn’t a big deal, but it’s been kind of bothering me. My MIL bought a dress for me. I’m 27 and usually dress more sporty. This dress doesn’t really feel like something I’d wear, it feels more like her generation. I don’t have a problem with the quality, but it just doesn’t feel like my style. If I wear it and show her, will she keep buying clothes like this for me in the future? My husband said just wear it once to make her happy, but I really don’t feel comfortable doing that.

Never buy AC in July, and never buy shell jacket in January. Is this a real rule in US?

I just heard this advice about buying things off season, and the logic makes sense. HVAC contractors are usually busy in summer, and winter gear is in high demand in January. But don’t major retailers basically have sales all year round anyway?

Thinking about a walking pad, but wondering about sweating.

I went to see a Chinese medicine doctor recently, and he suggested I do more brisk walking. I’m thinking about getting a walking pad to use at home. I know people sweat less indoors with the AC on, but I’m wondering if it’s still the same effect.

Window AC in my apartment is keeping me up at night!!!

I’m renting an apartment and the window AC is very very loud. Every time the AC kicks on, it wakes me up. If I don’t run it, I’m sweating. My sleep has been terrible because of it.

Is it need to upgrade the electrical panel to install mini splits?

My parents live in Ohio, house was built in the 90s. The central AC is very old and basically dying, and replacing the whole system is too expensive.

It's just two of them, so I’m thinking about just putting mini splits in their bedroom and the living room instead.

But I was talking to a friend and he mentioned that the house has an old 100 amps electrical panel, we might need to upgrade the whole house's electricity first. I don't know anything about electrical stuff, is this true? An electrical upgrade sounds like cost a lot of money.

Do mini splits always require a panel upgrade, or can they just use the existing electricity? Thank you.

Trying to figure out how much power my window AC actually uses.

One simple way I found:

Wattage = BTU ÷ EER

For example, if a 10,000 BTU unit with an EER of 10 would use about 1,000 watts per hour. Pretty handy for estimating electricity usage!

Has anyone done this before? Does it match your electric bill?
