Under his administration, thousands of wild horses have been rounded up with helicopters, packed into metal trailers, trucked hundreds of miles, and sold off to be slaughtered, the New York Times reported Thursday.

“The [Bureau of Land Management] is saying to the public that slaughter is off the table, but they’re doing it in plain sight,” Clare Staples, who runs a wild horse sanctuary, told the Times. “They are turning a blind eye. And the only ones getting punished for what is going on are the horses.”

The Bureau of Land Management has been quietly exploiting a legal loophole that bans the slaughtering of wild horses by selling them cheaply to third parties to be sold abroad and slain, according to the Times' analysis of government records.

After Trump took office, the bureau more than doubled its sales to more than 3,700 horses, according to the report.

The mustangs are sold at a huge loss, as the government can spend $3,000 to capture a mustang it will sell for as little as $25 — meanwhile, the buyer can make up to $750 per horse at a slaughter plant...

The bureau has pitched buying a gas chamber to kill the horses...But Trump has long been pushing for the horses to be killed — calling for Congress to act in Project 2025...

President Donald J. Trump has commuted the prison sentence of David Gentile, the founder and former chief executive of GPB Capital, ending his incarceration roughly 12 days after he reported to federal custody. According to the Justice Department and court filings in the Eastern District of New York, Gentile was sentenced in May to seven years for his role in a scheme that prosecutors said raised about $1.6 billion from investors while overstating the performance of the private-equity funds he managed. The early release has drawn scrutiny from investor advocates and legal scholars, who say the case highlights both Mr. Trump’s use of clemency in complex financial matters and the long-running efforts by thousands of retail investors to recover their losses.

A jury in Brooklyn convicted Gentile and co-defendant Jeffry Schneider in August 2024 of securities fraud, conspiracy and wire-fraud charges. Judge Rachel P. Kovner sentenced Gentile to seven years and Schneider to six, and ordered both men to forfeit millions of dollars and pay restitution. Prosecutors said more than 10,000 investors were affected and that losses reached into the hundreds of millions. Civil complaints filed by the New York attorney general and the Securities and Exchange Commission stated that executives used investor funds to cover firm expenses and, in some cases, personal spending, while continuing to market the funds using inflated valuations.

Gentile remained free on bond as he pursued post-trial motions, but those efforts were unsuccessful, and he reported to a federal facility on Nov. 14, according to Bureau of Prisons records. Within days, the White House prepared and approved a commutation that eliminated the custodial portion of his sentence while leaving the conviction intact, according to two people briefed on the decision and federal officials familiar with the process. He was released shortly before the Thanksgiving holiday, a rare intervention so soon after sentencing, legal analysts said.

Government debt is on track to hit historically high levels and, at its current growth rate, will by 2028 be nearly equal in size to the U.S. economy, the Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday.

The debt is projected to grow to 96 percent of GDP by 2028. Trump added $8.4 trillion in his first term plus $2.25 trillion 2025 alone.

A new report from the Ohio Immigrant Alliance identified 59 ICE and Border Patrol officers who have been accused, charged or convicted of violent or sexual crimes.

And some of what they found is absolutely disgusting.

Of those 59 cases, 50 involved officers charged with or convicted of sex offenses.

37 involved sexual offenses against children.

The cases documented include allegations of child sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence and even murder.

These are federal law enforcement officers. People who are supposed to be vetted before they’re handed a badge, a gun and enormous authority over other human beings.

Yet this report found dozens who were allegedly committing horrific crimes themselves, including crimes against children.

Now, I want to be VERY clear because I’ve seen this statistic misrepresented.

This does NOT mean 85% of ICE or Border Patrol officers have committed sex crimes. Researchers identified 59 officers with documented allegations or criminal cases and examined those cases. That was done for this study and report.

35 officers accused of sexual offenses involving children.

How does someone accused of sexually abusing a child end up anywhere near federal law enforcement? How many of these crimes happened while they carried a badge? How many warning signs were missed?

If we’re going to give federal agents the power to detain people, enter communities and potentially use force, we damn well better know who we’re giving that power to.

Law enforcement should be held to a HIGHER standard, not given a pass because they’re wearing a badge.

Trump's behavior has led many to question Trump’s sanity and to offer the President some labels in turn, including “unhinged,” “lunatic,” and “clearly insane.” Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed entered a statement into the Congressional Record by 36 physicians — including neurologists, psychiatrists, and specialists in cognitive disorders from Harvard, Tufts, Columbia, and George Washington University.

These doctors warned of President Trump’s “rapidly worsening, reality-untethered, increasingly dangerous decline.” They called him “mentally unfit” and said he must be removed “with the greatest urgency,” citing his “grandiose and delusional beliefs,” “reckless threats of violence,” “seemingly compulsive, manic-like late-night communications,” and “fixation on perceived enemies.”

He has dark, unexplained bruising spanning the back of both hands, and he has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which occurs when veins struggle to return blood to the heart. Carolyn Aldwin of Oregon State University, a researcher of aging, told Slate that Trump was a much better speaker in the 1990s. Today, she said, he “has really severe language problems. He can’t complete sentences. He wanders off topic. He gets very confused. … He clearly has difficulties. How severe those are can really only be established by testing.” He has made at least 4 visits to Walter Reed Hospital. What tests did he take? What were the results?

Trump’s apparent naps amid high-level meetings have become legendary. Does he have some sort of condition (as former vice-president Dick Cheney’s cardiologist, Dr Jonathan Reiner, mention recently on CNN) like “severe daytime somnolence” that is causing him to fall asleep during the day? Does that relate in some way to possible dementia, as Reiner suggested it might? Getting the answers to these questions is not just a matter of curiosity. It’s a matter of whether he is competent to be president of the United States from a physical and mental health perspective.

Two days after the equipment landed, Trump posted his image on Truth Social. His face looming over a tiny Greenlandic village like a giant peering down at something he intends to take. Captioned "Hello, Greenland!" He recently told a radio host you can "bet" Greenland will be under American control before he leaves office. Greenland's government issued a "strong warning" that no approval had been granted. But Greenland Energy, a company set up last year with chairman Larry Swets enjoying access to Trump's inner circle, pushed forward anyway.

Trump renewed his threats to claim the vast Arctic territory, materials to prepare for drilling were brought ashore in recent days on Greenland’s eastern coast. In 2018, billionaire Ron Lauder pushed the idea of forcefully seizing Greenland, and Trump took it up again in his second term. A Texas-based company, Greenland Energy, started moving drilling equipment to the remote Jameson Land region without any permission from local authorities. According to a report by Danish outlet Danwatch, a tugboat towing a barge was spotted moving towards the region and unloading around a dozen containers.

Greenland Energy has retained Phil McGraw, better known as Dr Phil, a prominent rightwing former chatshow host who served on Trump’s religious freedom commission, to make a documentary series that will “capture the mission of these modern-day wildcatters”.The sudden attempt by an American firm to start drilling in Greenland will likely be seen as a serious escalation.

Amendment 4 targeted the citizen led process of amending the Missouri Constitution, making impossible for people to over ride the Republican legislature. In recent history, Missouri voters have legalized recreational marijuana use, raised the minimum wage, restored abortion rights and expanded Medicaid eligibility through ballot decisions brought through the initiative petition process. 

Amendment 5 would have abolished income taxes, which would have raised sales taxes, and taxes on services, thus increasing taxes on average people considerably. Both were rejected by over 80% of voters. Both the Governor and the Republican legislature say they are thinking of ways to over ride the will of the people to accomplish what was overwhelming rejected by the people. Big money donors poured a huge amount of money into getting these two Propositions passed, so we know who these Republicans actually represent and who they pay attention to. Project 2025 on the state level.

The program has ensnared U.S. citizens and activist groups that alert community members about ICE activity. Contractors prepare daily reports and dossiers on threat actors, identifying the poster’s name, location, date of birth, workplace, Social Security number, vehicle registration and criminal history when possible.⁠

⁠To unmask anonymous online critics, DHS has sent hundreds of subpoenas to social-media companies, according to people familiar with the matter. Its agents have tracked down Americans at work and on the road, asking them to sign letters acknowledging their online speech about ICE “may” be a crime.⁠

⁠DHS says it is trying to protect its agents and their families from “coordinated campaigns of violence” that have fueled an 8,000% increase in death threats since Trump took office.⁠

But civil-rights lawyers and former DHS staffers say the approach has swept up people expressing opinions that are protected by the First Amendment.⁠

⁠“As far as I can tell, all of this is about people saying naughty things about ICE and immigration enforcement,” said Lauren Regan, a civil-rights attorney who has represented multiple people investigated by the government over their online speech. “Nothing that comes close to true threats.”⁠

Here is how the Trump adminstration is spinning it: An agency spokesperson said that ICE’s investigative methods abide by the Constitution and respects civil liberties and privacy interests. “Any allegation DHS and ICE are attempting to ‘squash’ free speech is categorically FALSE,” the spokesperson said. “ICE investigates all credible threats towards its employees, officers and families.”⁠ They claim that opposition is "endangering the mission" of ICE and could "disrupt ICE's mission".

The leader of the Texas House just exposed ICE for fabricating drug evidence to cover up the killing of an unarmed father.

“You don’t shoot a man going to work,” he wrote, “unless you’ve already decided his life matters less.”

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, 52, was driving his brother and two coworkers to a job site in Houston when an ICE agent shot him through the front passenger window.

He was a father of three. He had lived in the United States for more than 30 years. He had no criminal record.

ICE claimed Lorenzo “weaponized his vehicle” and tried to run over an agent. But every surviving man inside the van said that never happened.

“When Lorenzo stopped the van, the officer shot him anyway,” one witness wrote in a sworn statement filed in federal court.

Another said two unmarked ICE vehicles struck their van from behind and from the side. He said no agents were ever standing in front of it. After the shot, Lorenzo cried out: “Ya me mataron.” They killed me.

There is no body-camera footage. There is no dash-camera footage.

Policing experts who reviewed the wound said the bullet entered through the passenger side, indicating the agent who fired was not directly in the van’s path.

Then came the alleged drugs.

The FBI obtained a warrant to test bags of white powder found inside the van. Lorenzo’s family said the substance was salt the workers mixed into water to keep from collapsing in the Texas heat.

Testing reportedly confirmed it was NOT drugs.

Now Texas House Speaker Pro Tem Joe Moody is accusing ICE of using that FALSE claim to justify the shooting.

“ICE has yet to provide any evidence to justify the shooting other than leaning into a lie that drugs were found in the vehicle afterwards,” Moody wrote. “Testing revealed that was never true.”

The agents had been looking for two Guatemalan men. Everyone inside Lorenzo’s van was Mexican.

Moody argued that the killing cannot be separated from years of portraying immigrants as “invaders” who are “poisoning our country.”

The evidence proves that the damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by shoddy construction and not by vandals, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News [a pro-Trump network] on Tuesday. But facts and truth mean nothing to Trump...or MAGA. He rebuked her publically FOR NOT PROSECUTING AN INNOCENT PERSON. Prosecutors said that the Interior Department withheld infomation, and they said new information they had received indicated that the damage was caused by a "botched installation" by a contractor, not vandalism. But the thin skinned toddler can't admit it. The moral bankruptcy of this "man" and his administration, as well as his whole family is disgusting.

What he told the world's governments: that "the leftist" is driven by envy of "a perfect family" that "goes to church every Sunday."

That you should "trust your instincts" about who is "normal," who is "beautiful," who is "good" — and who is a "threat to normal, healthy living."

He called his targets "enemies of civilization" and urged "completely unflinching" pursuit.

Agency leaders have now ordered top ICE officials to throw more of their officers into rounding up immigrants marked for deportation, according to the NY Times, which obtained internal documents and spoke to federal officials. The White House wanted more arrests, three officials with knowledge of the conversations told the paper. They were told 2,000 detentions a day was the new benchmark. According to its own figures, that appears to have worked. Daily arrest numbers have roughly doubled from the 1,000 picked up each day earlier this year. Agents have seized people at routine immigration check-ins, during traffic stops, and out on the street.

Detentions peaked on Saturday, when more than 2,400 people were taken in a single day, according to the Times. The detained population inside ICE facilities has jumped by nearly 4,000, to more than 63,000 as of Tuesday. The renewed push suggests Trump wants to at least attempt to deliver on his signature promise of mass deportations.

The United States healthcare system consistently ranks last overall among high-income countries in major evaluations, such as the Commonwealth Fund performance assessments. Despite spending by far the most per capita, the U.S. trails peer nations in health outcomes, life expectancy, and equitable access.

Global assessments evaluate health systems across multiple distinct domains. The U.S. profile highlights a severe contrast between financial investment and actual delivery of care.

Ranks last (11th out of 11) among high-income peer nations in overarching system performance.

Ranks last in avoidable/preventable mortality, maternal mortality, and infant mortality, while also having the lowest life expectancy.

The U.S. is the ultimate outlier in spending, allocating over 16-18% of its GDP to healthcare—nearly double the average of other developed nations.
