Still tired & hazy several days after KAP injection

I had by first KAP session with a therapist August 10. I have been tired and hazy since then. Have you experienced that, too?

I am talking with the therapist. Just interested to hear from other patients. Thank you.

How to remove the port guard?

Bought the Ninja Slushi and HATE the “port-fill guard.” (Not referring to the cover that rotates open and closed.) It should be easy to pour liquid in, but not with that guard. What’s the best way to remove it? Looks like it will require surgery. I read the instructions and know solids can’t be added to the machine. 😆

As a passenger: Lyft or Uber?

It’s been at least a decade since I’ve used either, but I have to next month (as a passenger). Is there a clear preference between the two…or a new company? Thank you.

Middle school friendships: School year vs summer

Is it typical that a child/male (entering grade 7 in the fall) is very social during the school year but much less so in the summer when friends are off doing other activities? I think it’s probably typical but would appreciate hearing from parents who’ve been through it with their own kids. Just to gain perspective. Thank you.

Repair service for retro gaming consoles/devices?

My kiddo has several retro gaming consoles and devices. Now a couple of them need repair. Does anyone know of any shops that offer that service?

Should I ask why my therapist has cut back appointments?

After doing talk therapy for several years I began EMDR weekly in January. It was hard to find a therapist, but I found a good one. However, the therapist had cancelled several appointments early on leading up to the death of their elderly parent in February. Then in March/April the therapist said they would have to switch to every other week due to personal loss. I was ok with that. And most recently the therapist said they had to cancel yet another appointment, which means I won’t see them for a full month. Lastly, when I later I emailed to inquire about whether ketamine therapy would be good to augment EMDR, part of the therapist’s response came across as flippant to me, along the lines of if I need a provider with more availability than they currently have, it might make sense to look into one who does both (EMDR and ketamine therapy). That’s not at all what I was asking.

That said, I am now wondering if this is just me, just their clients on the day of the week we had started out meeting, or the entire client list. If the therapist is checking out, I would like to know was this is an expensive investment.

I’m interested to hear viewpoints on the therapist cutting back on availability, whether it’s all clients or just a few, and suggestions on how or whether to discuss with them as I have valued the service and feel I’m making some progress. Thank you.

Middle school friendships - boys

As the father of a 12yo boy who will begin grade 7, I find it frustrating to have to watch my child navigate a friendship with a peer who is nice/fun part of the time and downright mean at other times. Yet my child wants to continue hanging out with that person yet complains about him often. I listen and guide but I did step in recently given a safety issue where my child was almost seriously injured and I told the other kid’s parents what happened and said don’t want my son hanging out with theirs for a couple of weeks. Is this just part of the deal for middle schoolers in their social and emotional growth?

Shade for front window

Looking for an old school shade for the front window. What brand do you recommend?

Yes I realize tinting is an option and I had ceramic tinted side and rear windows in my previous truck and did not like it for visibility reasons at night and during rain.

Should I get bids for concrete steps?

UPDATE: Thank you to all who replied! Your perspective helped me check my thinking. I will select the same guy who has done two other concrete jobs at my house. I appreciate your input.

The guy who poured my garage floor a few years ago did a good job. Last summer he poured a new sidewalk and did a good job. Now I need my front steps replaced and asked him for an estimate.

While I wait for the number from him, I wonder whether I should get 1-2 estimates from other concrete guys? With this guy I know what to expect and have been happy. That’s worth something to me, and I’ve learned the hard way that lowest does not always equate to quality.

Thoughts from the pros?

Watering large areas

If you have a large area of hostas, how do you keep them watered?

I have lots of mature hostas and water them at the base with a long watering wand. More often lately I don’t want to spend the time.

Looking for ideas and what works for you. Thanks!
