Will Star Wars ever make a film that will make a billion ever again?
I know the picture was from before the Mandalorian film released, but I'm curious if the new leadership at Disney is treating the film as a failure? That being said, will large numbers of people ever be excited for a new Star Wars film on the hype level of 2015/2016 ever again?
Would Star Wars be in a better place if we never got any shows or films post ROTJ and pre TPM?
If Lucasfilm never made any shows or films post ROTJ and pre TPM, with the company instead only focusing on the series and films in between ROTS and ANH, would this franchise be in a better place with the fandom? What do you guys think? Would fans push for a Epidode 7? Would fans be contempt with less content? Would the ending of ROTJ have a deeper impact for future generations? Side note: all current canon video games like Battlefront 2 and Squadrons could stay canon in this sinerio.
Edit: most people are misunderstanding this post. This post doesn't mean that Disney shouldn't expand to other stories set in other time periods, for example the Old Republic, this post is just asking basically if we were to delete every movie and show that Disney has produced since 2015 that takes place after the events of the Battle of Endor and before the events of the Battle of Naboo.
The master and the apprentice
Have you guys ever noticed the parallel in the Obi Wan show with Rogue One? Obi Wan gets a hallway scene like Vader does but the key difference is Kenobi is more defensive as he is falling back meanwhile, Vader is on the offensive as he is pushing the fight forward.
Let's say you had 4 options for a Star Wars 2028 film..
reddit.comEwan Mcgregor is fantastic as Obi Wan Kenobi
Hello there... How do Star Wars fans feel about his performance in the Phantom Menace and the Obi Wan Kenobi show? Personally he's my favorite actor and he's easily the best part of his show and the prequels. Growing up I didn't watch Marvel or many super hero films in general so Obi Wan was the hero I aspired to be. Watching Obi Wan grow from a padawn to a knight and finally to a mentor that is willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good is such a beautifully crafted character arc in my opinion. What do you guys think?
Disney killed Star Wars
Remember when people would line up in front of theaters to see these films? Remember when people would pay to see another film just to see a Star Wars trailer? Remember when these movies made billions? Holy shit it's impressive how it took Disney only 15 years to kill the movie franchise that revolutionized special effects in filmmaking for the subsequent 50 years. They are currently losing their audience TO INDIE MOVIES!!
If you were a Jedi that survived Order 66 and the Galactic Civil War...
The battle of Endor just occurred. The New Republic is just getting on its feet. Luke Skywalker just found a importantly compas on Pilio with the help of Del Meeko. As a former Jedi that survived the purge, what is YOUR move? Would you retake the temple? Would you hunt down the imperial remnant? Would you help Luke establish his order or would you rebuild the legacy order?
Bo Katan is around 50 and Boba is 41. They don't look their age
Does this bother anyone? Especially since Boba is called "old man" in his show.
Star Wars is amazing and Christopher Nolan agrees
I've never seen a franchise that has such well thought out world building and lore like Star Wars. With so many creators and artists, all of their contributions are incredibly meaningful in the grand tapestry. Someone had to create every single alien species, ship, planet, character background, and name it all. Everything is a creative process, down to the design of the crates and the languages. It's truly astonishing how well crafted this universe is. The franchise helped me realize the true extent of human ingenuity and creativity in filmmaking.
These characters make Jar Jar look like he belongs in a Scorsese film
"Meesa no believe dis! Jack Black in de Star Warsssss?! Ooooh, thisa gonna be da most bongo-dumbo show ever! Heehee! He bring da funny boom-bad energy!! Ohhh… mesa not understandin’ all dis spooky ladies!" - Jar Jar Binks 10 ABY. Do you guys agree with the respected Gungan senator?

Why was there so much infighting at Lucasfilm about their new trilogy?
What was the process like when making the sequel trilogy? Why did so many actors and/or writers openly disagree with certain narrative choices? Who gave who the power to make these decisions? Why didn't the story group force a better coherent vision? I'm genuinely curious as to why so many people involved couldn't agree on some major decisions on the sequel trilogy. This is not a hate post, does anyone actually know who was the culprit behind the major hiccups? Bob Iger? Kathleen Kennedy? JJ Abrams? Rian Johnson? All of them?
The Skywalker saga should not extend to the Sequel trilogy.
Star Wars is the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. It's about Anakin's falls to the darkside and eventual redemption. It's about Luke being able to turn Anakin back to the light. The Skywalker saga told a beautiful story about a father and a son. It also told a important story about a republic that gave up their freedom for security that mirrors real history from the Roman Republic becoming the Roman Empire. The Star Wars Skywalker saga has a deep and thoughtful narrative that was not only impactful but had a mythic status for generations. I'm not going to ramble on how the Sequel trilogy was poorly written or how it destroyed legacy characters, but what it did do is muddy the importance of the original Star Wars story.
Happy Pryde month!!
Lucasfilm NEEDS MORE DIVERSITY in their projects!! What about a film about the marginalized clone trooper that fans unfairly ignore!!! #transtrooper
Disney has produced 280 Episodes of television since they bought Star Wars
There's been 15 shows under disney thar have produced nearly 300 episodes. Is this too much content? When should Star Wars take a break?
The 10 timed that Anakin saved Obi Wan
It's mentioned in Revenge of the Sith that Anakin saved Obi Wan 10 times. If you don't include the business on Cato Neimoidia then what are the 9 other times? Maybe it's these? 1 is the nest of Gun Darks thats mentioned in Attack of the Clones. 2 Anakin saving Kenobi on the speeder in Attack of the Clones. 3 Anakin saving Kenobi during first Dooku duel. 4 is Battle of Christophsis. 5 is taming the Mortis Gods. 6 is mission on Zygeria. 7 is mission on Oba Diah. 8 is when Anakin shoots the Buzz droids off of Kenobis Interceptor in Revenge of the Sith. And finally 9 is when Anakin saves Obi Wan after the final Dooku duel. Let me know what you guys think!
Kenobi is my favorite live action Star Wars show ever made
When Disney bought Star Wars in 2012 the first spin off that came to my mind was something staring Obi Wan. I got my wish. The most important aspect of the show is how it brings real world awareness to PTSD that many veterans struggle with daily. The show has a great character arc of Kenobi reconnecting to the force and letting go of his guilt. With the context of the show Obi Wan has technically mentored all three skywalkers in his life. The show explains why Obi Wan knew Anakin survived Mustafar in A New Hope. Also in A New Hope we see Alderaan get get destroyed but we never see the culture or the people that lived there until now which adds more tension to the scene on rewatch. It's also mentioned at the end of Revenge of the Sith that we would see Qui Gon again and I'm happy we finally did after so long. Also the path being the Rebellion in its infancy was really cool to see as well. I also loved the performances by Hayden Christensen and Ewan Mcgregor, they gave it their all. Not to mention Hayden practiced his saber skills for 16 years so it was enjoyable to see him use those skills on camera again.
Personal Canon
Is it normal for Star Wars fans to relegate certain games, movies, and shows as non canon while also designating legends games, and content as canon? Basically ignoring what Disney calls canon. If so, how common is this?
Mango and Goku
I think I had a pet gold fish that was more entertaining than what I watched in theaters.
