Marco Rose gives his take on Bournemouth's pre-season work and the areas the team has been focusing on
10-1 against Genoa & 2-2 in Seville vs. Real Betis. The attacking football under Marco Rose is electric!
Pre-season has been an absolute joy to watch so far, from dropping 10 goals on Genoa to holding Real Betis to a thrilling 2-2 draw at La Cartuja thanks to goals from Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson. The front four is clicking with real sharpness, and new signing Álvaro Rodríguez is already adding a focal point that frees up Justin Kluivert and Tavernier in the half-spaces. If we bring this exact clinical edge into our final pre-season fixture against Mainz on August 15th, we'll be in flying form for opening day.
What's a completely ordinary moment on Clarkson's Farm that you enjoyed more than the big storylines?
Some of my favourite parts aren't really major events at all. It's usually someone doing an everyday job, Jeremy and Kaleb arguing over something minor, Gerald turning up for a chat or everyone just sitting around after a long day. I think those quieter bits are part of why the farm feels like a real place rather than just a TV set. What's a small moment from the show that has stuck with you?
What's something you've received in a Too Good To Go bag so many times that you're now sick of it?
Everyone talks about the amazing surprise bags, but there must be an opposite version of this.
Something you normally like, but after opening your fourth or fifth bag and finding another pile of it, you just don't want to see it anymore.
What's the item you've officially had enough of?
Would you rather watch one great match at Wimbledon or spend the whole day moving between the outside courts?
I think I'd choose the outside courts.
Being able to walk around, watch a few different players and stop wherever there's a good match sounds like a really nice day to me.
For people who've been to Wimbledon, which do you prefer?
What's the most useful thing you learned at Oxford that had absolutely nothing to do with your degree?
Not necessarily some profound life lesson either. It could be learning how to defend an argument when you're not completely confident in it, becoming much better at managing ridiculous workloads, discovering how to cook something edible at midnight, or simply getting comfortable admitting you don't know something.
What skill did Oxford accidentally teach you that you still use?
Bournemouth have appointed Nicolas Gagnon as First-Team Set-Piece Coach. Good addition?

Coming from a different academic setup, I’m trying to optimize my digital workflow for keeping track of extensive reading lists and organizing notes across SOLO, ORLO, and Canvas.
Best places to buy a reliable secondhand bike in Cambridge without accidentally buying a stolen one?
Are there specific local bike shops or university/student bike sales you’d recommend for reasonably priced used bikes.
Which Bournemouth player from the last five years do you think the club sold at exactly the right time and which one do you wish they'd held onto for one more season?
The recruitment model depends on buying well and selling at the right moment and Bournemouth have generally done that well enough to keep competing. But there's always one where the timing feels slightly off in hindsight — either sold before they hit their peak or kept a season longer than the value suggested. Would love to know which ones people here think fell into each category.
Why do the experts always seem surprised by the same problems every season?
Every year we see the same issues: lack of attraction, poor communication, mismatched expectations and one person checking out of the relationship early. Yet the experts always react as if it's something completely unexpected. At this point it feels like half the drama on MAFS comes from patterns we've seen multiple times before.
Who's had the biggest fall from fan favourite to fan frustration in MIC history?
Every long running reality show seems to have that one person who was hugely popular when they first arrived but gradually lost a lot of goodwill with viewers over time. MIC has had quite a few candidates over the years.
