To the one who actually did calculation on the wheel, thank you

I forgot who's the redditor who did the calculation on the wheel, but the second one - after having communty feed back - prove that saving golden ticket is the best choice, and Indeed, I got all the items without spending money due to that.

So thank you for calculating, and provided analysis on it.

Other than Slopsmith, Any other open source Rocksmith Clone?

So I decided to try out the Slopsmith on my TV PC (an i3 6100 mini pc), and it works for an open source alpha (except the problem with resolution)

That being said, I am curious if there are other Rocksmith clones/alternatives that are free, or even open source?

Update to Guitar Player Repair Guide 3rd edition?

One of my personal guitar repair bible is the "Guitar Player Repair Guide 3rd edition" by Dan Erlewine, but seeing that was back in 2007, are there any newer editions?

How did Vancouver region become progressive?

I know it was seemingly an obvious answer - charter of rights, etc - I can't help but to look at all the other cities in Canada. Except Victoria, most other cities are not as progressive as the region. What is our magic sauce? (Don't think it's education, as the curriculum is province wide)

I always want to make a tube amp myself, but sometimes I cannot help but to wonder why the old school schematic and turret board seems less complicated than modern amps.

Here's my understanding of what causes complexity:

  • Preamp
    • Channel
      • Single, Parallel (Tremolo), or cascading distortion channel
    • EQ - simple 1 knob vs TMB; whether each channel have their own
  • Effect loops - simple diverted, or buffered
  • Reverb, which derived
  • Single Ended, Single-End Parallel, or PI-Push Pull
  • Recitifier - tube, simple solid state, the recitifier bridge

Anything else I missed?

I recently found out about the Livehouse operation model that is first made popular in Japan, but seems to hav e spread across East Asia and SEA. However, I still do not quite get how are they different from a music club or playing in a live music-oriented pub. (EG: Vancouver Railway Club) Can anyone fill me in?

One thing I noticed is that some people still "block" the compass gate to prevent possible fare jumper; that is to say, make sure the gate close behind you before moving on.

However, knowing some of the fare jumpers, I would actually be hesistant - just this morning saw someone knocked onto the ground during exit.

So: do you block people fare jumpers at the compass gate?

I remember that back in late 90s early 2000s, anime is accepted in some of the high school - but only those that have a high east Asian population with minimal local integration, such as Richmond schools, Burnaby North, and some of the CoV schools. In Kitsilano schools where academic and integration focus is high despite having high Chinese population, anime wasn't picked up as much, and likewise in school with less East Asian populations.

But wondering if that holds true now? I heard that there are less east Asian students nowadays.

First time posting here, and don't have a headless, but looking into it.

I am looking at a used headless guitar, and based on the FB resolution pictures, it seems to have tremolo - specifically, it's one of those that have a roller bridge (move by tailpiece), and have no visible spring cavity from the back. Based on research, it maybe a Steinberger Transtrem clone.

So my question for me is:

  1. How is Transtrem for changing tuning? Is it as easy as hardtail? Similar to Vintage/Standard trem? or just like FR trem (ie total PiTA)?

  2. Assuming it is not Transtrem or clone, what other versions are there, and are some better for changing tuning?
