"Your lightsabers will make a fine addition to my collection" pose

Goddamn these arms are tedious to pose

Any other cool poses I should try?

Grievous has made a fine addition to my collection

Absolutely amazing figure. Luckily I got him for cheap before prices jumped. I avoided the Sideshow Grievous like the plague. When this guy came around, I didn't pre order him and waited on the waitlist. I gave up waiting after a year.

The only gripe I have with this guy is some of the joints are loose, like his feet. His feet should have been ratchet joints like his knees were. Interesting choice.

Worth it. Absolutely worth it.

Brottar display case

I pulled the trigger and bought the Brottar curved panel display case.

It's an MDF, combination glass and acrylic panel case with lights.

I'm conflicted so here's what I think:

Pros:

-The curved panels are acrylic. This is good. I was scared that if they were glass, they'd arrive broken. If they didn't, when we move out, they'd definitely break.

-Assembly was straightforward and easy. Took 2 hours total, and I took my time.

-It has lights, and the lights can be set to motion activated.

-It is large enough to display my Empire Vader on his display base.

Cons:

-Even though the case has 3 different light colors (blue, natural, and incandescent) the only setting that looks good is incandescent, and it's more white than anything.

-The design is weird. I thought the curved panels would look good. I don't think they do.

-No adjustable shelves. You get 4. That's it.

-As with any MDF shelving unit, it is wobbly. It won't fall apart though.

-It is not dust resistant on the inside. There are many gaps, but these can be filled in with foam.

I bought this because I have these figures, and I have General Grievous coming as well as Obi Wan and Anakin. I think the amount of space in this is fine.

I have the money for a Moducase display but come on. I'm not wasting my money.

New display stand for the Titanic

Progress has been good. All lifeboats with the exception of a few up front are installed.

It does slightly piss me off that the superstructure did not come together correctly, and if you look carefully there are massive gaps. I'm not that bothered really, but still.

The new display stand I purchased actually works better to hold Titanic than the included one in the kit. It's a cradle, rather than two pathetic stands.

The finishing touches are all that's left. The hardest parts in my opinion. Rigging, attaching the aft mast, and then all the railings and finishing details for the stern.

the best pose I've gotten out of the 1/4 ROTJ Vader

Pointing finger glove on his right hand, force grasp hand on the left, pointed at his waist, near his lightsaber.

The pose symbolizes Vader's commanding presence, hip turned like he's ready to strike down the next person who fails him. His hand is placed on his lightsaber, signaling if you fail, you're going to have a face to face meeting with the saber's red blade.

This is honestly the coolest pose I've gotten. Vader doesn't pose a lot in ROTJ, and HT doesn't have a 1/4th Luke. Yet.

I've decided to finish this 6 year old project

It's been dropped and spilled and moved across towns, and after letting it sit for over a year now, I decided last night to finish it

This is the 1974 Entex Titanic and it is late and not very great. Being its as old as it is, the fitment isn't terrible but I should have gotten a newer kit to build my forever Titanic

I used to be obsessed with looking at photoetch and perfecting every minute detail. Not being able to do these correctly killed my love for this model, hence why it's taken so long to build it

Now, I have stopped worrying about those details. I'm going to build the kit, and be done with it

Yes parts are broken and if I care enough I will replace them. I may improvise. Who knows?

The entire kit is hand painted which was a bad move. But it did give me more time with each individual part.

I don't have a lot left to do. I started this in 2020 so seeing it done will bring me great joy.

And hey, it may not be museum quality but it looks a lot better than the real ship does right now

▲ 581 r/StarWars+1 crossposts

This is a work in progress animation I'm making in Blender. I've done Star Wars art before but never of this scale. There are some minor issues I'm facing (color, amount of stars) so I'm aware already

This will be an exciting thing to produce.

I have spent the morning painting my 1/4th ROTJ Vader flight suit to prevent continued flaking.

For reference, I purchased this guy recently from a seller in Korea, and I think he sat in a box for a really long period of time. Pleather deteriorates no matter what, but this did not help.

Low and behold, the day after I get him and unbox him, he starts flaking at the elbows really badly. Anywhere the fabric creased, he flaked. His left arm definitely was the worst. Both front and back on the elbow flaked awfully.

I bought Angelus black leather paint and have been doing light coat after coat, using a hair dryer to artificially cure in-between coats, and he's coming back.

The arms look drastically better, and I believe the pleather is now fully sealed in the paint. It is flexible, and it will work out. I will let this sit the rest of the day and see how well it worked tomorrow. This is just with 7 light coats.

He won't look brand new up close, but I'm no longer worried about flaking on him. I will paint the legs as well because better safe than sorry.

In case you're curious, the black Angelus paint matches perfectly. I will get a finisher paint to seal it in.
