Was I being rude or is he sensitive?

Hi 15f, I just needed clarity on this, but today a friend and I were talking about how especially now there are so many double standards when looking at Christianity and other minor religions. I’d say we were talking pretty quietly, but I was talking about how the religion is something I respect more of as well as all the other religions, but it’s always Christians preaching and forcing religion down throats and not other minority religions (not saying this can’t happen, just saying it doesn’t happen a lot and isn’t treated the same). As in when a Christian does it, it’s glorified preaching, but if a different religion did it, let’s say a Muslim did something similar, people would have a big issue with it. Moreover, it was that kind of conversation, but I’d say we weren’t hating on the religion, just more of some of the followers. Anyways, this guy who’s a Christian really sweet, but he started saying we should respect religions and that not all Christians were like that, and so I agreed with him and told him I was just talking about my own experience, and he gets this piss face and walks away.

Anyways, should I apologize? Or was he overreacting? It was never my intention to be rude, and it was a conversation between me and a friend only. Also I live in Texas so ugh that says everything already 😭😭

Am I a jerk for feeling like my aunt has been acting crazy lately or am I taking it out of proportion?

TL;DR- My aunt has been doing really alarming things in my opinion but I don’t know if I’m a jerk or not for feeling this way and am hesitant to tell my family.

Hi 15f, for context, my aunt (30f) and I have a super strained relationship. I don’t really talk to her and honestly try not to because of situations from before and the way she acts overall. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting or what, so I came here for an outside
perspective.

Anyways, my aunt has always been pretty socially awkward. Not in a mean way, but she has zero social life outside of family, so we try to include her in everything, but she just acts like a total child. She gets a piss face when anyone asks her to help wash dishes or suggests anything. Like, one time my mom recommended she try sugar alternatives because diabetes runs in our family keep in mind my aunt is diabetic too, and she instantly got defensive. My parents even try teaching her basic life skills like taxes or saving money. Context She lives with my grandparents who pay for everything—my grandpa owns convenience stores so she isn’t pressured to work or do anything but she needs a-lot of help from my parents so on weekends she usually comes over and still acts like a kid. Most family and friends hesitate to bring her anywhere. But only oblige because they feel bad for her. For example this month we had a family gathering but nobody invited her and when she figured it out she started getting ready upset to why she wasn’t invited and started yelling at me as if I made the decision for all the adults there.

With me specifically, she’s super hostile, always accusing me of stealing or making snide comments. (To be fair, I do make comments about how she should treat my grandma with respect since grandma does everything for that house.) She always lies and overreacts about everything.

This summer in London with my family, she lost her Apple Watch in the middle of the night. While I was sleepingI literally felt hands patting me down and woke up to that. I jumped up obviously then asked what she was doing, and she immediately accused me of stealing it.

In the morning she accused everyone else and where was it? It was under her sofa bed the whole time, and she never apologized. My grandma said I was overreacting, but her touching me in my sleep scared me so so bad. A similar thing happened last year in Alaska when she lost her phone and blamed me, and where was it? Her fucking pocket.

Today I went to my grandparents to help my grandma clean and organize (which I do because I love spending time with her :) ) at around 7 p.m. When my aunt got home, she saw my black Adidas shorts I was wearing and accused me of stealing them from her room, like hello just got here? She yelled for twenty minutes straight until I started crying from exhaustion, calling me messed up, crazy, and a liar. Until my grandma yelled at her to back off. Then she texted me tonight denying she was yelling or accusing me, saying I take things out of context while telling me prior "take off your shorts then" and "you liar." I feel like I'm losing my mind tbh.

To keep this not any longer, please ask questions if you have any!

Honestly, dealing with this constantly is just so exhausting but I don’t know if I would be an a-hole if I actually said something about this as well. I don’t want to be callous and be apathetic about it if she can’t control it but a part of me also feels so confined in a way. Theres also been things from when I was 6-8 where she’d do alarming things now that I think about it so please ask questions if clarity is needed! Anyways what do I do if anything?

Am I overreacting or is the way my aunt has been acting wrong?

Am I overreacting or is my aunt crazy or more than that?

Hi 15f, for context, my aunt ( 30f) and I have a very strained relationship. I don’t really talk to her and honestly try not to because of situations from before and the way she acts overall. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting or not, so I came here for an outside perspective. This might be long, so you’re in for a long story, sorry :)!

Anyways, my aunt has always been pretty socially awkward. I’d say not in a mean way, but she doesn’t really have a social life outside of family, and so the family tries to include her a lot in outings and many things under that bracket, but she tends to act like a child more (correct me if I’m wrong). But she tends to have a piss face when people ask her for help washing dishes at gatherings or suggesting things to her. For example, one time my mother recommended her to not eat much sugar or to try other alternatives(diabetes runs on my mother’s side of the family. My aunt is also diabetic too). And with her getting defensive about it immediately, or my mom or dad trying to teach her a basic life skill such as filing her taxes or how to save money (she lives with my grandparents who pretty much provide for her. My grandfather owns a bunch of convenience stores; however, she doesn’t pay rent, works as a receptionist, but again behaves like a child). Once my grandma was trying to clean her room and lecturing her to take care of it with her, then replying “don’t touch my stuff, who are you to tell me what to do” things like that. Point is, most of my family and family friends hesitate to bring her anywhere because of how she acts.

Now let’s talk about situations with me and her specifically. Overall, she’s very hostile to me, always accusing me of things like stealing from her, making snide comments (which, to be fair, I do but only things about how she should treat her mom (my grandma) with respect as she does absolutely everything for that household), and she also tends to lie and overreact about small things I do.

This summer, my family and I, so my mother, father, younger sister, her, and my grandparents. And when we were in London, she lost her Apple Watch (in the middle of the night, I assume). Then, while sleeping, I felt hands patting me down, and so I woke up and felt her literally PATTING me down. So obviously, I jolted up and asked her what she was doing, and that was when she started accusing me of stealing it, which I’d never do, and so in the morning, then she started accusing everyone else and then started crying after. What actually happened? It was under her sofa bed the whole time. And she never ever apologized. My grandma said that I was overreacting, but I feel like she crossed a boundary by touching me in my sleep or maybe she’s right, idk honestly. This similar situation happened last year in Alaska when she lost her phone and she blamed it on me, and where was it, you ask? Her fucking pocket.

Then today I came to my grandparents’ house to help my grandma clean and organize (something I do because I love spending time with her :) ). Keep in mind I came in the evening, so seven p.m. ish. And when she got home, she saw my black Adidas shorts and accused me of stealing them from her room, like hello? And no joke, she was yelling about it for twenty minutes until I started crying because of how exhausting it was. She over that span had called me messed up, crazy, and a liar along with other things. Until my grandma yelled at her to pretty much back off. Then she texted me tonight about how she wasn’t yelling or accusing me and that I always take things out of context when she definitely was and was saying things like “take off your shorts then” or “then show me” or “ I know what I’m talking about, you liar”. But that’s pretty much it. I feel like I’m honestly going crazy and at my breaking point, which sounds dramatic. To keep this not any longer, please ask questions if you have any! And Reddit, am I overreacting? (Probably won’t sleep because I’m terrified she’ll pat me down, so that’s that.) If you get to the end of this, thanks for reading so long!

Is having kids (in your 20s/early 30s) while developing your career selfish?

I know having kids, especially now, is a controversial topic, so I wanted to see how people feel about this. So hypothetically, if one is in their prime years and wants to have kids, then but is developing their career when in a financial state subject to increasing or decreasing, is it fair for a family to take that gamble and bring a child into something changeable, good or bad?

Is it rude if I ask my depop seller when she’ll ship my order as it isn’t on her page and it’s been three days?

Hi everyone!! It’s my first time ordering from Depop, and I wasn’t sure if it was rude or not to contact the seller as I know it is really stressful to sell clothes on Depop. She is also a new seller so I don’t want to overwhelm her. If any sellers have thoughts on this please comment! Thank you :)

How do you refute the argument people make when they justify god existing as people suffering and dying and bringing topics like karma into it just to say free will and the world being unfair is how god designed the world to be

Hello! This is a question Ive been thinking about for a while but I can’t figure it out whatsoever! Anyways i’d love it if I could get some other opinions and takes on this :) hope the question was phrased good, wasn’t really sure how to ask it.

AIO? Or does my mum have a double standard for my sister?

Hello Reddit! I wanted to share this with you to see if I’m overthinking it or if there’s something deeper going on. I’m a 15-year-old girl, and my 11-year-old sister gets everything she wants. For instance, today, she wanted to sit where I was sitting in the car. I wanted to stay there, so she started complaining and whining until my mom made me move. Fine, whatever.

Then, today (we were traveling), she forgot to pack pants. My mom wanted me to give her the pants I was wearing or the other pair I had, which I didn’t want to do because she should’ve thought ahead. But I ended up giving her the sweats I was wearing because my mom insisted on doing it. She whined and didn’t even take them, which resulted in me getting chewed out by my mom.

There are also instances when she’ll make stuff up and I’ll get in trouble. Am I overthinking this? Or am I overeating? Or is there something deeper going on? I wanted to keep this post short, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Thank you.

how do I tell my parents “correctly” I don’t believe in god?

Hi 15f my parents are somewhat moderately religious however the rest of my family is heavily religious. The thing is I don’t believe in god I haven’t really for a while I just didn’t know how to go about it. These past months Ive been talking to my parents about why I feel like god can’t possibly exist with me stating points such as that he can’t be all knowing, all powerful, and all knowing at the same time as well as how he “chooses” to solve such minuscule problems while there are genocides and things like war going on where millions of people are passing away yet “god” doesn’t act on that. Moreover points like these but they feel like it’s not logical for whatever reason which I can’t understand. They don’t want to force religion onto me but feel like my points are “stupid” and not making sense to them. They keep bringing the same argument that theres a creator of all so I bring up that well the creator also came from somewhere to correct?? Or they’ll call the sad atrocities happening in this world and “god’s “ will on not fixing it as just how the world works. Anyways I feel like we go in circles constantly about it. Help would be appreciated thank you to everyone who read this! Sorry about the length!

EDIT: Thank you so much for all the advice i’ll probably stay quiet about it so not to cause any tension or trouble as some of you have said. A little context too its not like i have a terrible relationship with my parents they aren’t bad people necessarily just because they have different beliefs as do the rest of the eight billion people on earth I can understand why they get really defensive about it in a way because its something that has been taught to them for a much longer period of time. With that id like to thank everyone once again! So thank you
