The best “vibe coding” I’ve done.

The best “vibe coding” I’ve done.

I know vibe coding is good and bad, but I’ve played around with home kit for a while, and posted earlier asking how to integrate power usage.

So, after vibe coding a http service to poll multiple devices using HTTP and MQTT I have full visibility if my issues including solar generation and grid usage (using ecoflow smart meter)

This is cooler than i expected! - just wish we could have more icons!

The new iOS27 Power Readings

I’ve seen that iOS 27 supports power, does anybody know how. I have http switches which have worked for years and are fan-bloody-tastic.

They support power readings in http get requests, wondered whether I could modify http-switch to support power readings too.

Heatwave. Training and aggressive Eczema

There is honestly no point to this post other than to get it off my chest, so please don’t feel the need to read.

This year has been my absolute worst for training.

I’ve always been really susceptible to heat and hydration, but this year it feels like it’s affected me more than ever. I have a skin condition that means I barely sweat across most of my body, so I struggle to regulate my core temperature properly. When I do sweat, it’s pretty much limited to the few areas where my sweat glands seem to work.

It means my core temperature can rise really quickly when I’m training, especially in warmer weather, and once I get too hot it can be incredibly difficult to bring it back down. Even the small amount I do sweat can aggravate my skin, so sometimes it feels like I can’t win either way and have to really to topical steroids.

I am into the mountain long distance running up to 100km, I’ve never tried or managed a 100 miler, however this year I’ve been struggle to do more than 10k, not due to fitness b it due to the heat, inability to regular temperate and when I do go out super early it’s still 20+ degrees and where I do sweat breaks out in horrific rashes meaning I can do much for the next two days anyway.

As I said, no point to this post other than a bit of a “dear diary” situation. Sorry 😁

Range anxiety is rubbish!

I did a big drive today, 4 hours 12 minutes, ALL motorway and dual carriageway.

There was absolutely no way I could drive any more without stopping for a piss, still had 110 miles left.

I was back up to 62% by the time I had grabbed a coffee, and had a piss charging at 112kWh.

This is my first EV and I’m absolutely blown away!

Health Integration.

Apple Siri on iOS 27 has ZERO knowledge of the health app. It’s actually insane.

Hi Siri, how many steps have I done today?

Hi Siri, what did my workout look like today?

Hi Siri, how many calories have I eaten today?

It’s ALL available the health app, but NOTHING!

Removing POI?

The map is SO busy it’s distracting I have zero preferred POI’s selected but I don’t want any POI’s showing. It’s literally showing everything - so horrible! Is it possible to change?

Internal Alarm.

I have to manually turn this off every time, nothing is left in my car but the alarm goes off ALL the time.

Ecoflow Smart Plugs (Shelly PlusPlugUKEF)

Hi, are these plugs totally locked down to only the EcoFlow App?

I have tried Homebridge, Alexa, Home Assistant. I cannot get ANYTHING to control these outside of the EcoFlow App.

The EcoFlow Developer API allows me to add them to my Home Assistant but I have no controls.

Dashcams?

I find it crazy that with all the cameras we have these aren’t standard like on Tesla’s…for all cars.

The car feels so premium I don’t want a bolt on wires wherever - anybody got any professional installers or had one fitted UK? I’d ideally like front and rear

Looking for mileage reassurance.

I’ve got a 2025 (July 2025) Enyaq. I’ve just hit 20,000 miles in less than 12 months, not intentionally but a back to office has meant I’m doing more than 1000 miles a month just for work. (I’m getting 300 miles on a charge still)

It means in 3 more years I’m likely to have 80,000 miles on it.

I’m looking for those with say 2021/2022 Enyaqs with high milage and reassurance I’ll be fine!

The best m/kWh yet…

The UK is experiencing some rare good weather, and it’s noticeable, my range and miles/kWh are going up and up, this is my record so far!

Siri AI Regular Requests

Hi, woke up this morning, and asked Siri to give me a summary of today, but only look at calendar A and calendar B events, (I have 4 calendars, one is my partners day which I didn't need a summary) check my travel times for those events based on traffic and best times to leave, as well as the forecast.

It worked flawlessly, but was a mouthful to ask regularly, when I tried to create a shortcut to do this it displayed it in a shortcut prompt not the new Siri AI.

Anyone worked how to make this a regular request without having to say the full mouthful each time?

Stream Ultra Monitoring / Smart Plugs

Hi,

I have a Stream Ultra with 2 x AC Pro devices to create 6kWh of battery storage and 1800W of solar input it works flawlessly, but I've found I am exporting extra energy to the grid as its not smart monitored.

I've added 6 smart plugs, the washing machine, the office (screens/computer etc) and coffee machine, big ticket items that I want to draw from the battery in the day.

The issue is, I've got 9 smart plugs and only just realised it won't let me link more than 6

I cannot have a smart metre installed, but now I have 3 smart plugs working but not actively telling the system to draw from the battery not the grid.

Im disappointed, any works arounds?

Hypervolt Install

I purchased and paid for an install last Friday, had an email regarding sending some photos and I did that on the same day.

I’ve not heard anything for 5 days, is this normal? I was expecting an email with an install date, even if that was 3-4 weeks away, but the no emails at all feels strange.

Map Routing Issue

Any idea why Škoda maps would take me 20+ miles more, literally terrible route, even when I drop a manual pin on the M42 to make it route that way it still thinks it’s 20+ miles longer than the other apps.

I like the native mapping due to the estimated battery percentage for arrival.

My FIRST EV…WOW

I’ve always been an old, runaround car guy, from a banged up 2003 fiesta, to a discovery 3 which was jacked up on my driveway more than I drove it, to a more practical 2017 1.6 Seat Ateca.

I might be having a midlife crisis, but this came up, 1 owner which is Škoda UK was a ex demo car, 2025 Enyaq 85 Edition. Wow.

I am not 100% sold on electric yet, but I drove 86 mile home from the garage yesterday and only used 29% battery, averaging 4.4miles per kWh.

I’m having a 7kWh home charger installed in a couple of weeks, until then it’ll be as thirsty as the Landrover to fill up but it’s exciting and new and I’m shocked I love it so much.
