Are there healthcare remote jobs where you don't need a degree?

Hi there!

I've been to nursing school a few years ago but I'm chronically ill and had to drop out because my illnesses got too bad. (but because of that I still do have a little experience plus medicine/healthcare is a big interest of mine)

I can only work remotely now and I would love to still work in the healthcare/medical field but I can't seem to find anything remotely if you don't actually have a degree.

Does anyone know if there's anything I can work or do you have a healthcare remote job and could tell me what you're doing?

I'm really frustrated because I can't get a job but I definitely need one.

Nothing phone related tho or medical scribe or something, I can't hear well. (team meetings here and there are fine but I can't do anything where I need to focus more on what is being said)

Also I cannot study anything online since I don't have a high school diploma (my country doesn't have that typical system)

Thanks already!

I'm panicking because I can't get a job

Because of my disabilities I am unable to work an in person job.

Even working remotely can be hard but possible for me.

But I just can't get a job. Everyone rejects me.

I'm living with my partner and we share rent, I pay with the little bit of disability money I get and my partner barely has any money aswell.

I'm already barely getting around and have some debt because I can barely afford anything and now our rent has increased quite a lot and my money just isn't enough anymore. My partner also doesn't have enough.

Every month is hard but epecially next month I will have to pay for multiple things at once and I won't be able to now.

I'm really stressed out, I don't know what to do anymore.

And no I can't get money from anywhere or borrow some.

Why I can't get a job..

My problem is, I'm in my early 20s and had to drop out before I got my degree.

So, I don't have a degree and I only have a little experience from working in that field for a bit and an actual job I once had for a few months.

But no experience in remote work or really relevant things.

And obviously no one wants someone like this.

I can't even work as a call agent because of several reason, physical and mental and actually also environmental.

For the last 3.5+ years I really did try so many different kinds of jobs, companies, big and small, different countries even (my partner work like this too, so yes, I know it is possible and I know some other people aswell), different approaches with applying and and and.

Nothing.

I don't know what to do. I don't know what will happen with me/us.

I bet lots of people here might be going through the same thing?

What kind of accommodations do you wish "existed"?

What kind of accommodations do you wish there was, that could help you in any kind of way in parts of your life? (realistic!)

Like is there something you always thought of "ugh I wish the government would accommodate this" or not even just the government, maybe anywhere or even just a product or whatever.

I sometimes think about those things, how I wish there was smth like this or that. So I was wondering what other disabled people think.

Therapists, what are the best gifts you've received from clients?

Hi there!

I'm female and in my early 20s.

My therapist is in training to become a psychiatrist and I am her "project patient" for the past 3+ years.

In a couple months she will be done and with that I also won't be able to be her patient anymore.

I've been thinking of giving her a thank you and goodbye gift but I'm not really sure what she would be really happy about.

During the past 3+ years I've often been traveling and living in a different country, which is why I'm usually only in therapy with her every 2 weeks for a couple of months at a time and then many months nothing again.

So it's not like it's super intensive therapy.

That's why I also don't wanna overdo it with the gift.

I don't want a basic mug with best therapist, some thank you chocolate or whatever. I'd like something with a meaning. Maybe something selfmade even?

So what were the best things you've received from your clients or what is something you would be really happy about receiving?

Thanks already! :)

What accommodations do you need when studying something?

Hi there!

I'm female and in my early 20s.

I'm unable to work because of my audhd and other chronic illnesses.

So I was thinking of maybe teaching people my native language online.

(not yet sure if I can do it since I have bad social anxiety, but I REALLY need some income)

I was also thinking about focusing on neurodivergent people (not only ofc)

While I do know a few ways on how I could accommodate such students, I would still like to get some insights from people here.

What things help you struggle less in school or when learning a language or whatever? What accommodations help you or would you want to have?

If you were one of my students, what's would make you feel more comfortable etc?

(such as detailed but easily to understand, instructions, WRITTEN instruction, slower talking, no requirement to turn on the camera, literal talking, etc etc..)

Please keep in mind that those lessons would be in a call and not in person or over text.

Would appreciate some replies, thank you! :)

Best ube powder brand?

I wanna buy good quality, authentic (preferably organic) ube powder for shakes, coffee, baking etc.

What are actual good brands?

I saw that a lot of ube powders have have artifical coloring, sugar, milk powder etc added, does anyone know any good brands without all that? I'd like something natural and authentic..

Salamat! :)

Anyone here work remotely?

Hi there!

Does anyone here work remotely and can tell me about it? What do you do, how did you get that job and what are the requirements? Also do you have any tips?

By state I am legally disabled and I cannot work.

I really do need to earn my own money tho but I really just cannot work in an in person job.

So for a few years now I've been trying on and off to get a remote job but I haven't been lucky so far.

I would still struggle with remote work but definitely much less and ti's more do-able for me.

I'm in my early 20s and went to nursing school a few years ago. I had to quit after 7 months tho because of my illnesses.

After that I worked in service for a couple months. (3 months, then I took a break for 3 months and worked again for 2 but after that I got much more sick and I haven't worked in over 2 years)

Besides that tho I don't have any experiences and definitely no degree..

Because of that, no matter what kind of job I applied to, no one wants to give me a chance.

I am willing to learn new things and even do online courses or whatever by myself if needed.

I still don't seem to find a job and I'm really tired and frustrated. I really need money.

Everyone wants a degree or at least a couple years of experience but idek how to get experience if no one gives me a chance.

And yes, I've tried task works but even there I'm not accepted.

I've got a friend who's mom works in HR and she told me my CV looks good and my application are not bad either for my "qualifications" etc.

So I doubts it's really that.

I'm also hard of hearing so call center or jobs where u have to do calls, wont work for me. Plus I'm neurodivergent too and can't deal well with it.

It seems like I really don't have any chance but I just cannot live without earning my own money.

Maybe someone even knows companies that take people like me??

Anyone experience with the text/workbook "Moments A1" by Hueber?

I've heard that it's a good book for complete beginners but you need to buy 2 books since 1 is a Kursbuch and one is a Arbeitsbuch, but together they're around 50€, which seems pretty expensive to me..

Especially since it's A1 only.

Since it's kinda "new" there's not tooo many reviews yet tho..

Soo.. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it worth it or shall I get a different one?

Thank you!

Where can I get good German worksheets?

Hi there!

I'm a native German speaker from Austria. My partner isn't tho but she'd like to learn German.

I wanna teach her but I don't exactly know how to start.

I already taught her the alphabet, weekdays, some basic phrases and some random words.

But that's it so far.

I'd like to get her some printable worksheets to fill out etc but I can't seem to find any good websites.

To the people here that study German, what are you using? Also do you have any websites with other kinds of assignments aswell?

I'd like to teach her like she's in school so please no apps.

Just websites with assignments, worksheets etc.

Maybe someone can recommend some good books too?

And before anyone says to put her into a course, neither of us has the money and time for that. Plus it's not like she seriously needs it, she just wants to learn it because it's my culture and also so it's easier everytime we visit Austria.

Thank you!

I'm lookingx for A5 notebooks (lined) but everything I've seen so far, had quite bad quality :/

Pages are super thin, ink bleeds trough the back or the whole notebook is super thin and barely has pages.

Tried shopee too but quality seems to be even worse.

Can anyone recommend good ones?

Clubs/communities in Cebu City that are NOT sport related?

Hi there!

My partner and I have been thinking of maybe joining a club/community in Cebu City to maybe meet new people or just to get out a bit more.

I am chronically ill so sport/activity clubs etc won't be possible. Also we're enjoying just a chill, slow paced vibe.

Any suggestions?

How could I decorate this wall? Please help

Hi there!

I know my apartment isn't very nice, so I want to at least decorate it a bit more "aesthetically"

Can anyone please give me some tips?

Unfortunately this place has kind of strict rules. I'm not allowed to paint the walls, not allowed to drill or punch any holes and also not put any wall stickers or whatever.

I'm only allowed to put regular tape and those sticking adhesives that can hold up some lighter stuff.

I was thinking of either picture frames but idk in what "positions" and what kind of pics to hang, or garlands or smth, but idk in what way it would look nice and not like a child's birthday party decor or something.

I also wanna put some small cute curtains at the window there.

Maybe ivy garlands on the corners of the room. Although it's a living/dining room so idk if it'll look good..

Can anyone give me some ideas or even generate something and show me? 🥹🙏

Thank you!

Best ways to learn how to get good in excel?

Hi there!

It's been a couple years since I'm out of school and unfortunately I've forgotten almost everything I learned about excel.

Since I wanna work in jobs where it might be required to be good in excel, I wanted to learn it again, but I don't really know how to start.

Luckily I still have a few old documents of when I learned it in school. But I feel like just a few documents isn't enough.

Id also like to take online tests or whatever, like use templates etc.

Does anyone know good (free) websites or apps?

Thank you!

Why are filipino grocery workers like this..?

Hi there!

First, I'm a woman in my early 20s and I'm a foreigner. (central Europe)

I semi moved to the Philippines more than 2.5 years ago. (for my partner)

The reasons I'm posting in this sub and not the Philippines expats one, is because I would like to know you opinion on something or maybe just an answer..

(❗edit❗ some people said this is normal, that they get trained for this, especially with foreigners. But I've NEVER seen them do this to other people, this has NEVER happened to my partner or family + friends and also I've often even seen other foreigners in the grocery aswell and they're not like that with them AT ALL. Also even if, this behavior definitely is going to far and not the way they would have been trained for.. So I'm pretty sure they're doing it, because I'm a female foreigner.. My partner + partners family are also always telling me it's bc I'm a woman and pretty (for them apparently) )

This will be a long text so if you're gonna read it, please read everything.

I get that many people in this country see foreigners as something "special" and apparently especially if you're a woman. So I got used to always being stared at, smiled at and greeted a lot etc.

I'm very shy and introverted and get awkward very quickly so I'm not really a fan of it but over all it's not a problem and I understand.

When I go into grocery stores (never alone btw, I'm ALWAYS with my partner and sometimes with 1-2 other people aswell) almost always staff members say hi to me, which isn't a problem. My problem is.. Why do they often suddenly follow me around?? Like they're suddenly hanging around the isle I'm in right now or when I leave they wait a moment and then slowly come after me again and just stare at me. Like often there's a few of them suddenly following me around and just stopping in front of the isle. They're not saying anything or asking I'd I need help with something or whatever, they're jsut staring and talking to each other and smiling at me when I look at them.

It makes me really uncomfortable

A few days ago I was standing in an isle alone for a moment, not realizing there's a door next to me which slowly opened and then there was like 5+ of them standing there just looking at me, talking and smiling to each other and then suddenly one of them said "hi maam!" which surprised me for a second since I didn't notice that the door opened. I felt intimidated and just shy and awkwardly said hello back and turned back to the shelf and awkwardly scratching myself and suddenly they all started laughing very loudly.

It made me super uncomfortable and insecure.

Luckily in that moment my partner called out to me and I basically had an "excuse" to leave without it seeming suspiciously.

When I told this to the others, my partner said they probably laughed because they teased the guy bc he made me awkward.

A tiny bit after we went back to the same isle but a few meters away and we all saw them staring out the window in the door, very obviously. My partner + partners sister got mad and we left the isle. Just a few seconds later, the door opened and a few of them came out and kept luring around us the whole time. Staring at us and also clearly talking about us and sometimes "randomly" passing by us and smiling at me.

When we were about to go to the cashier, 2 of them went there and kept telling us to come to their cashier (which we had to unfortunately because the other one was occupied) my partners sister told me to go behind a wall close by because they are creeps and pervs.

This doesn't or barely happens when I go to bigger grocery stores, such as grocery stores in Ayala or SM or smth, but it almost always happens in Robinsons branches or other just smaller stores..

Not related to grocery stores but I have sometimes noticed people taking pictures and videos of me aswell. To top it of, often even staring and laughing + talking about me when they do.

It feels like a huge invasion of my privacy. And before anyone says, just go to them and tell them I saw and to delete it, it's not that easy.

I'm not even really pretty. Im just average looking and very short too. I even look really young too. Most people think I'm only like 16 (some even younger..🥲)

Anyways, all those incident make me feel very uncomfortable and often even "anxious" to go out.

Can anyone tell me why people are like is or even some of you reading this??

I just want to understand.

As I said before, I understand it's something "unique" or whatever for some, seeing a foreigner, especially a woman, but this is going way too far. No matter how excited someone is, there should be common sense not to do those things.. Especially the following around is crazy?? And I'm not talking about the I'm going into a small shop where someone is following to make sure I won't steal or to assist me or whatever.

Would be great hearing some opinions from Filipinos or maybe if you've done the same before you could tell me why.. (and maybe reflect on your behavior tho..)

Thank you!

Where in Cebu City can I get potted herbs?

Hi!

I wanna get some nice, fresh, potted herbs but I don't know where.

I've looked on fb marketplace but they're all up the mountains and that's unfortunately just was too far for me..

Haven't seen anything at carbon market either.

Can I even get some in Cebu City or really only in the mountains?

Where can I get good breakfast in IT Park or around?

My partner and I live close to IT Park and we regularly take morning walks but we either eat breakfast before leaving or after coming back. We decided we want to just chill at a cafe/bakery sometimes and eat nice breakfast and preferably looking out a window.

Can anyone recommend nice places?
