My sibling yelled at me for coming home

I called before hand. I asked "are you busy" she said no, she had plans later so I figured I had some time. I came over to the house. The family home where our parents live. She got mad. I was intruding apparently even though it's my home too. She yelled at me. She treated me with such animosity. You'd think I had done some grave wrong but all I did was come home. Even if she doesn't want to hang out with me that day, she could've just said so. Instead she was just aggressive. She did hang out with me, cuz I was there. She agreed to watch a show with me. But was just mad at me the entire time, and being rude. It's hard to explain it. Imagine someone trying to start a fight in a bar. That's the kind of energy she was giving me. Like, exaggerated motions, loud voice, getting in your face. Like if you had just encroached on an animal's territory. I couldn't take it anymore so I said I was leaving. To which she then apologized and tried to be nice to me.

She's had anger issues for a while now. She picked that up from our father. Overreactions to small issues. It sucks watching that part of our father live on in her. And I know why she's like that too. Her entire life she's had to fight for every boundary she has. For both dad and mom. Mom would always try to put her into a box she doesn't belong in, as opposed to letting her express and explore herself. Dad just couldn't be argued with. If he wanted something, he got it. If you didn't drop everything you were doing to help him he'd yell at you, refuse to speak to you for a day & a half, call you names, threaten to break your things, threaten to kick you out, threaten to stop supporting you, or actually take and hide your stuff while doing all of the above.

Even i put her in a box sometimes. I wanted us to be Dipper & Mabel from Gravity Falls. I would just grab her all the time, pinch her cheeks, grab her legs, bite her arm, poke her belly, because it was how I showed affection. She repeatedly said she didn't like it, but I just thought she was overreacting. I think I fully stopped that behavior sometime in college.

She's had to fight to express any sort of boundary or desire. That aspect combined with our father, of course she'd grow up with anger issues.

But that doesn't make it okay for her to treat me that way. Doesn't make it okay for her to yell at me, and make me feel unwanted in my own home. My whole life, I have to give other people grace for the terrible ways in which they treat me and others. My life wasn't perfect either. But I still try to be nice to people, each and every day.

I'm depressed. I'm depressed that the sweet girl I remember is essentially almost gone. I'm depressed that we're not Dipper and Mabel like I dreamed to be.

I like to think there's still hope. She did apologize. She truly meant it. Which is more than my father did, I rarely ever saw him apologize. Even he healed after some time. She knew how she was behaving and that it was hurtful. She did back track some of her apology, but I think she was doing that out of guilt.

She did hit me, but that wasn't today. She didn't believe me when I said she punched me a little too hard. To be fair, I was trying to bite her head (gently). She also pulled my hair rather hard. Not in the playful way either, it was like self defense. Regardless it was way too hard. And she doesn't believe me when I say that either. To be fair, once again I was trying to bite her head.

My father demonizes her a lot. He says she's a sociopath. Which is just not true. Not to mention it's a hurtful thing to say about your child. If anything, I'm more sociopathic really. I turned off my emotions, I'm very calculating when dealing with other people. Not to say I'm absent of all emotions, I just dissociate. If anything, my sister feels strongly about most things. And she does care. She just has to fight for every single boundary in her life. No wonder why she's spiky.

We each came out of my house differently. But maybe one day, we can be Dipper & Mabel.

If anyone has anger issues, or had them in the past, please share tips that helped you overcome them. I don't think my sister wants to turn into my father. I think that sweet girl is still in there somewhere.

Hawking Radiation Basic Question

I am not an astrophysicist so please don't be too harsh.

Hawking Radiation (I believe) is the theory of how black holes shrink. Because the universe creates two quantum particles of opposite charges, and they collide and destroy themselves upon their creation. But when applied to black holes, the black hole sucks one of these particles in and leaves the other to escape into the universe.

My question is how do we know two particles are being created and destroyed in the first place? Is it some big math equation that helped us figure that out? Also what type of particles are being created and destroyed anyway?

Help with finding out what kind of house we can afford

Me and my hubbs have about 3,560 LEFTOVER after all expenses paid (but none of this is in savings YET). So this is the money we can divide up to save for retirement, fun stuff, emergency fund, and a mortgage. What is the maximum price of house we can afford? Or what range? I don't know how to calculate it and my financial education is very minimal. Please help 🙏🙏🙏

What do non-U.S. citizens think of Barack Obama?

Repost because I forgot to include a key option. I deleted my other post and re-worded some of the answers :)

Dude I'm so tired of the U.S. government

Our president is a brain dead idiot and he will say or do stuff that will harm others all the time. Almost everything he does is a detriment to the country and to the globe. I'm worried he'll try to invade Greenland or Iceland and start WWIII. Or they'll just start dumping their bonds again and cause inflation to rise. Contributing to the already existing poverty in the U.S.

He's just bad. He's bad for Republicans. He's bad for everyone. Several people would be alive right now if he was not in office. I swear less damage would be done to people and the economy if a dead fish was president. He's just an absolutely corrupt moron. And it scares me.

I eat when I'm bored and I can't stop

This happens mostly at my job. It's like I forgot how to be full. I want to eat until I feel sick. It's a relatively new problem so I don't know what to do about it. I went from one extreme eating to another. Any tips?

Frame rate drop during Yellow Long fight

Exactly what it sounds like. He is a hard boss but he's harder when the frame rate drops and he starts cutting between move sets. He's the only boss I've had this problem with. I have the graphics set to performance. Anyone else have this problem? What do?

Traveling to Croatia, where should I visit?

We're going for a honeymoon. Zagreb is our must have destination. Any other cities we should visit? If so, where? We like natural parks and history, and we're not the biggest fan of the beach. Any where romantic you recommend? Any restaurants you recommend? Help is much appreciated 🫰🫰😊

Sorry this post is in English. I don't know Croatian. I'm going to try to learn a few phrases to get around, but not enough to be able to type this post.

Also is there any social rules & customs I should be aware of as not to offend anyone?

I will not be happy on my wedding day

People used to tell me that my wedding would be the happiest day of my life. But that feels almost impossible now. Every decision I had to make for my wedding was a fight with my family. If I didn't order super expensive things, or I went with cheaper options, I would get scolded. "Everyone is going to think your wedding is tacky and they're all going to talk about it." "Everyone is going to think you are cheap and lazy if you don't get [service that is out of my budget]."

Planning my wedding, consistently fighting, has just ruined my wedding experience for me entirely. Now I'm just going to be worried that something small will go wrong and I'll have to deal with the disappointed look of my mother or anyone else who is just as judgemental. She's a stickler for tradition, and my bridesmaid dresses may not all be the "same exact color or material." I'm fine if one of the groomsmen decide to wear a hat. I'm fine if the groomsmen have different shoes. I'm fine with not having glass or china plates for my wedding. But it doesn't matter. The snide comments will not stop. She told me, "I just want your wedding to be perfect" and yet is a huge contributor to my stress for things that don't matter.

Sometimes things go wrong out of my control. My church just had to push back the rehearsal date. Now I have to reschedule the rehearsal dinner. And instead of sympathy and recognition for all the work and all the money I put into an event, I will get complaints. For things that are out of my control. For my preferences. For everything.

This was solidified for me yesterday. We were late to some appointment for my bachelorette. I misunderstood something and we ended up being late. Everything went fine. But one of my friends was mad at me. On a day that is supposed to be about me. On my day. She was mad. Any other day I don't think I would have cared. But on the one day I wanted everything to go well. The one day I wanted absolutely no stress, and I couldn't have it. If that was just my Bachelorette, I can't imagine my wedding going to be any different.

I understand that expecting to be miserable is just a self fulfilling prophecy. But my wedding is not about me, and it hasn't been for a long time. I'm not looking forward to it. If I could redo things, I'd just elope.

Edit: For everyone telling me to cancel my wedding, it's literally this week. I already paid for everything. I might as well attend even though my enjoyment might be minimal. My family knows where I live so I can't escape (bit of a dramatic word, but point being not attending my wedding won't give me any peace either). I might hold another wedding celebration with just my friends at a later date. But I am still dreading my wedding at this moment nonetheless.

That's it. That's the post. I'm so unphotogenic I hate pictures of myself. More self wallowing for me.
