New EOS opening rate - switch EOS location for the lower price?

I belong to one location in CA that's about 15 mins from my home, and another one is opening much closer to me. I currently pay the approx. $30/month for the top tier membership and was told that for one day only, I can get the same membership for $15.99/month if I switch. Is this a legit offer? I'd rather avoid scammy offers.

Evolve & Resilient split?

I love both teams and have done series with both. I’m usually not a fan of splitting between two teams, but a split would let me get my fix with my 2 favorite coaches. Anyone incorporate both Evolve and Resilient regularly? Did you do legs with one and upper on the other? Right now, I’m leaning toward upper with Coach Sam and lower with Coach Neen. I’ve had some shoulder stuff lately, and Sam’s mobility work before/after each lift really helps.

LGB-DEN: Not policing overheard bins for 1st few rows

Boarded group 1 for a 3rd row extra leg room seat - was 2nd person in Group 1 to board and got the last available spot for my roller bag. Everyone who boarded after me had to place bags behind them. It’s been awhile since I flew SW. Thought they’d fixed this situation?

School Admin Jobs

Looking for input on working conditions and finding positions in PA. I am originally from Bucks, and I’m thinking about returning. I’ve been living and working in CA as an AP and teacher for the last 20 years. Had a PA teaching credential many years ago but let it expire. I’m old enough to retire in CA in a year and collect my pension but young enough to work somewhere else for another 5-7 years for extra money. Originally, was going to stay in CA for that length of time, but cost of living is dumb, and I want to be closer to my grandchild while she’s young. Also, is there a central website for education jobs in PA? I recall PA REAP many years ago, but I’m sure that’s defunct.

Coach Neen - post about doing his own workouts

I could swear that while scrolling the Team Resilient Chat within the last 2 days, I saw a message from Coach Neen about how he does the same workouts that he programs for the team, something that many of us know already. I meant to screenshot it to share with a friend - basically to point out how awesome his program is - but now I can’t find it for the life of me. Did anyone else see it that could share a photo? Unless I’m losing my mind?😁

Not everyone will support you!

I’m now in maintenance after losing around 25 lbs since January. For anyone who didn’t know me in the last 5-6 years, yes, I’m much leaner than I was a few months ago. However, I have achieved the weight I maintained for most of my adult life until my 50s, Covid, and Peri all hit at the same damn time. Tirz. was the catalyst, but I’ve also put in the work - heavy weight lifting, mostly clean diet, and very little alcohol. I’m actually at the point with drinking that I even feel comfortable going out and ordering a mocktail or water. The rewards of feeling better are that worth it to me.

Anyway, last night we were out in a group. I have a friend who knows I have taken this med. She might think I’ve stopped, but I never bring it up. Anyway, she kept telling me, you are so skinny. I know her and her tone well enough to know that she was pretending to compliment me, but it was not intended that way. I don’t internalize mean girl nonsense at this point in my life, but it sure was an awkward moment.

Not looking for advice - just wanted to give a reminder that you deserve to feel good about your progress. Don’t let mean people kill your positive vibes!

Titrate back down and Maintenance Question

I've been on Tirzepatide now since early January and have lost 25 lbs. I am also happy to say that I got serious about weight training at the same time, so I've been better able to hold on to muscle. I traded my overconsumption of wine and stress eating for espresso and working out. And I feel great! I am now at/close to goal weight, and my goal has shifted from active weight loss to body recomp. I want to continue to lose more body fat (I am just under 30%) and gain muscle.

I am on my 1st vial of Apothecary. I titrated up from 50 units w/ Red Rock (basically the second dose) to 6.75 with Apothecary. I am 3 doses in so far and VERY happy with its effectiveness. However, now that I am closer to maintenance, I have to admit, getting in the calories is challenging. Here are my questions:

  1. Should I titrate back down, so I can eat closer to maintenance calories? Right now, that would be around 2000 calories per day for me based on my TDEE (like I said - I work out pretty hard 5-6 days per week), but I'm struggling to get 1500. Mentally, I have a really tough time with this part - total paranoia of regaining weight.

  2. Would titrating down and still injecting weekly be a good first step toward maintenance? I know some people space out the dose to 10 or even 14 days, but I still want the weekly timing.

Thanks!

Apothecary Tirz sure is Tirzing

Finally finished my last Red Rock vial last week, so I did my first injection of Apothecary a few hours ago. Let’s just say that it’s hitting as quickly and strongly as my Red Rock with glycine did for several months. Except now I can say that I’m additive free. Man, I love shot night😄

Unpopular opinion- Glutes obsession

Can we for the love of balanced strength just stop with the glute obsession? Am I the only woman who wants balanced strength rather than focusing on one body part? Also, if I see one more post from a woman who wants to grow her glutes but "tone" her arms, I am going to lose my mind.

AITAH - Tripods in the Weight Room

Pretty sure the person I talked to thought I was a Karen, but I was polite in my approach. Realized at the end of a set recently that a woman next to me had a tripod set up to film her bench presses. Anyone walking through (myself included) would end up on her IG reel or whatever nonsense she's filming. I asked one of the people up front what the policy is on tripods, and he said it's a grey area. I told him that I haven't given my consent to be in someone's random IG reel. He told me that they'll talk with the woman. Of course, I never saw him walk over to address it during my last 20 minutes at the gym. So, thoughts on this type of filming?

Apothecary Shipping Now!

Have not checked the product yet since I’m at the work, and husband grabbed my FedEx to place in fridge for me. Ordered on 4/29, slight delay. Arrived 5/12 as stated when BEWL reached out regarding delays. Also, for all the angst around FedEx, it made it from PA to CA in one day, so I’m impressed.

PSA to the guys for lane sharing

Had a moment today while swimming laps at my local gym. There are 3 lanes, and when I’m lucky enough to be the first one there, I love taking the far lane against the wall. The other 2 lanes were soon taken by individual guys. I was down to about 500 yards to go when I noticed a guy on the far side of the pool looking to split a lane. And I could tell that he really wanted to split with me (slender woman) versus one of the other 2 guys. I’m always the person to share a lane. This time I pretended not to see him until he gave up and swam with another guy. So for the men, please know that women know you don’t want to share with another guy. I get it - you would rather bump up against a woman than with a dude. We do NOT feel the same way. When the choice presents itself, please stop expecting women to share when you can jump in w another guy. For the record, a woman came in a couple mins later, and i immediately offered to split.

I was a member for a few years, and while I am grateful for how F45 kickstarted my initial strength training, I don't see much change in the workouts since I left about 18 months ago. Have a friend who insists that it's changed, but when I look at the workout intel, I am still seeing fast paced sets on strength days without rest time or consistency with a movement to achieve hypertrophy. It looks like the only way someone could progressively overload is for them to do their own thing and change the actual workout. At that point, why would I pay $$$ for the F45 classes?

So far, pleasantly impressed with Big Easy intake. Had my phone call from the doctor - someone I could easily look up and verify as an endocrinologist. He asked relevant questions and actually asked that I provide updated blood work before I’d want to refill in 2.5 months or so. As far as telehealth goes, this process feels way more legit than other companies out there, including some who charge much more. He recommended Apothecary, so that’s also a plus. Checked about 2 hrs later and I already have an email regarding payments. Easy!
