What would you do in this situation?

My aunt works in the NHS and for quite some time, they've ran a program where, with this other company, they let staff lease cars for three years before changing it for a brand new car.

My aunt has had a 2010 Ford Ka Style, 2013 Peugeot 206 Feline 1.6, 2016 Mercedes A Class Motorsport Edition and a 2019 Audi Q5 2.0 TDI. However the latest car shes had which she doesn't like is a 2023 Toyota Yaris Hybrid.

The next car they offer which she can afford is a Geely Starray Pro. She doesn't mind it but isn't very keen, they offered a brand new Golf and A3 which she liked but the monthly price is too expensive. They even offered another Yaris but the price is too expensive.

I suggested to her buying a small runabout and building NCD, since shes never owned a proper car she hasnt had a NCD.

Also, she only pays for the car and the fuel. Insurance, tax, mot, servicing and any repairs are paid for by her work. She feels that if she comes out of this program she will have a lot of upfront costs but isn't sure about staying as it is getting really expensive.

What would you do here, stay in the program or buy out an older car?

The most pointless story here

In 2023, I went on holiday to Istanbul. Within the space of 4 days, i counted 73 Fiat Grande Puntos and 4 Fiat Punto Evos. Coincidentally at the time, I was looking at one of them as a first car.

Minibuses/ foxbuses for dense areas, a good idea?

So we have normal buses that go around the city, electrics in the city centre and normal diesels for longer journeys. But, what about an addition of small minibuses and foxbuses for built up areas like, say Highfields for instance.

So these buses will pick up people for a short fee in built up dense areas where normal buses can't go.

They can either go from A to B within that area, or go straight to town and back.

They can either stop at multiple stops or have one pick up and drop off point. These stops can be fixed places or change which may be notified to users on an app perhaps.

So for people who still have to walk a fair bit to catch a bus or walk far to go home from the bus stop, these will be ideal.

Do you think this is a good idea? Would there be a demand? Also before anyone yells at me, no I'm not an experienced city transport planner or something so I wouldn't be aware of the wider implications of this but I'm open to hearing any people suggest.

So which cars are just bought as cars, appliances for A to B. They're not loved or cared for. And after a few years they're moved on to new owners and inevitably the scrapyard. No one cares if they're gone, or how many are still running.

TLDR which cars are seen as simple products which are thrown away after a bit without a care?

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but I was a very good driver after passing. I could drive confidently at speed whilst remaining safe. I could bay park in a single shot. Some family members and friends say I drive as if I've been driving for a long time. I thought I was a good driver but tried to not let it get to my head because one, an arrogant driver is a dangerous driver and two, being arrogant and thinking you're something is not allowed in my religion.

However, come parallel parking. First time i attempted it in my own car, a tiny Ka. I parked like 3ft away from the kerb. Then other days it would take me like 10 attempts to park. It's only now, nearly a year after driving that I can parallel park well😂
